Samson...Vice Versa

- This song is done by the legendary NWOBHM band Samson and it is called Vice Versa and is off their second cd titled Head On released in 1980 off of MCA Records. The early samson lineup is legendary as it consisted of Bruce Bruce (Dickenson) before his successful trip with Iron Maiden. Also Paul Samson on guitars, who would go on to die of cancer, and Thunderstick on the drum battery. Thunderstick who also played early on for Maiden completed the lineup.
It's like a NWOBHM version of Deep Purple..
That amazing song was used in The Incubus (1981)
I just finished watching Incubus and that is what brought me here
She was a real two timer
She knew I'd never leave
She thought that she could make it
I could never believe
She looked so healthy
and she looked so clean
But when she got to bite you
was she mean
Vice versa, vice versa
She could roll you over
and make you blind
She could say things to astound
the dirtiest mind
She looked so…
Thunderstick, was doing like Keith Moon's drumming but heavier and faster !!!!
One of the best songs from the great NWOBHM era. Great singing by Bruce.
This song is badass and used very well in The Incubus.
What
Coventry Rd record shop 1981 . Paul Samson and the band kicks ass
l love the drumming on this track
Awesome drums.
even roadied for Samson at the Woodies in Gravesend, back in the day
35 years later and it is a fantastic track. Bit of trivia...the video of this track features a bloke with long hare, moustach etc flaunting he muscles etc etc...thats Thundersticks without the mask.
Tbfh I though thunderstick was a black guy
@@scottbeater-man3714 That was the guy who replaced Thunderstick, Mel Gaynor
And now he plays for simple minds, am i right?
@@lena-in9su Not anymore. (1982-1991; 1997-1998; 2002-2016)
@@scottbeater-man3714 What happened to the black guy?
THUNDERSTICKS!
🥁 Criminally Underrated 🥁⚡🔥💪👊😎🤘
Head On is a very good heavy rock album, with solid songs and fine musicians. RIP Paul and Chris.
Decent tune! A little reminiscent of Blue Oyster Colt back in the early 80's...
I saw Samson live at Reading Rock Festival ( 1981 ). 15 years old at the time. They played this one. After this show Bruce Dickinson was asked to join Iron Maiden. Brilliant live Band.. Ah memories!!
So glad i saw yous in the caledonian hotel Inverness back in the day BRUCE BRUCE Bruce Dickinson told me he was leaving the band after the GIG and i said but yous are great he said he was joining maiden on the monday i shook his hand and History began PS so glad i got to see Thunderstick in Wales HRHXII

Sovieticful
Yes :)
top 3 fave British bands of all-time!
Great Álbum / Great Song 🎵🎼🎶🎸😎👊
This takes me back 40 years seeing these guys at the Reading Festival. Great band ✌✌
My shit 😮💨🔥🎸
I love it.
My first time hearing this, but I've known Split Knee Loons' For Gillan Fans Only version since 1980! This is great. Samson were the 5th-biggest NWOBHM band in England - Maiden, Saxon, Leppard, Tygers, Samson. They did well.
Rock! With Tommy Vance! Friday night treat!
Mr. Paul "Bruce Bruce" Dickinson 🎵🎼🎶🎼🎤💪😎👊
Great Band New Wave British Of Heavy Metal 💪😎👊
THUNDERSTICK!
Thanks for sharing & with quality sound too! I haven't heard this for years & it's still great stuff. Bruce rock's........
I love the start, you can barely believe it's who it is.
BRUCE!!!!!!
Barry Purkiss, he fucking loved fills.....too much
I remember listening to this getting sooo high on Thai stick with opium on the way to day on the green in Oakland to see scorpions and iron maiden. what a show!! what amazing weed!!!
Reminds me of lying around in a smelly damp caravan with a load of British bikers getting stoned on Red Leb. The stench of bike grease and petunia oil putting a hurt on your nose.
I smoked Thai stick in my teens( dad53 now) I wondered why that Thai would never get me paranoid)) they must have soaked the buds in opium tincture// Those were the good old days
Que tema genial!!!! Bruce...thunderstick....paul samson.... level a song!!!
I remember that film.
i have too mate, a few years old now
Yes this is( Bruce Dickinson)
I got the cassette version- VERY RARE, MINT CONDITION,- AND ONE OF MY FAVORITE FLICKS- INCUBUS!!!!!!!
kevin snodgrass I got it brand new for a dollar a long time ago, but the edge of the sleeve reads Bruce Dickinson/Samson. Damn marketing bullshit...
Hell yeah.. Awesome movie that introduced me to this song too
FM did the other awesome tunes which are here on YT as well
so damn good!
Mr. Paul "Bruce Bruce" Bruce Dickinson 🎤⚡🔥
Mr. Paul "Fuck" Sansom 🎸 Criminally Underrated
this song was in incubus, one of my favorite movies
VIICE VERSAAA
This song is almost as old as I am, and I'm not a spring chicken anymore. Timless and addictive track, super production. Somehow I've come to like Samson and Thunderstick better than the majority of Maiden's songs. This is more rock'n'roll. Earth Mother and Communion are also great songs.
cool i get it now and thats why HT sounds better quality wise and retooled solos and such. love the album, solid from start to finish.
Thunderstick is my god!
Música gostosa de ouvir cara
If I told you back in 1977 that the Vocalist would lead a band he didn't even start of in( Maiden) to millions of pounds in record sales///Live shows// and merch!!!!! And would win fencing titles and become a pilot of 747 jets???? You would say( Piss of fucker!!!) On some tracks you will hear a bit of the much more Refined Bruce Dickinson// Cheers and up the irons// also Sampson we're a bloody decent band
GM never say die
this song is featured in the Horror movie Incubus 1979
I have Samson "head tactics" on cassette tape still. I beleive head on and head tactics are the same albums. total kick ass song that leads the album off. one of my favorite tapes in my collection. the head tactics LP sounds more polished. the solo is different in this song too, sounds better on head tactics.
I Love Tears for Fears
I tracked all the original Cd´s down feat Dickinson damn awesome shit
Heard this in Incubus.
ok after further study i have been listening to tons of Samson lately. my head tactics cassette from 1986 says all tracks remixed by jo julian and paul samson. and for instance walking out on you on my HT cassette doesnt have the trippy long ending part. some parts in songs are slightly different and sound tightened up a bit and sound better than album form. and like you said it has losing my grip track 3 on it with bruce which i prefer over nickys. \m/
alright i relistened to it and yea they kinda ripped it off cause the drums are also extremely similiar but ehh fuck it its kinda cool for new wave too have metal roots lol
GM
I think Tears For Fears kinda nicked that bit...
They sound like judas priest and queenridge
sierra4344 Way before Queensryche. Had their own style. RIP Paul
ok
its a shame bruce left these guys such a great band plus paul era maiden my favorite anyway but bruces maiden was maiden so idk im never really satisfied
the CD sounds cmpleteley different than the LP. did you find out? This sounds like the LP ! LP has a much better sound and Mix
GM never say dieciocho
What means 'NWOBHM'?
Never you mind. Found it.

idk its to simple to say its stolen plus tears for fears everybody wants to rule the world is an amazing song so fuck it let it go plus i feel it was coincedence
Barry Purkis AKA Thunderstick wasn't always a great drummer, Steve Harris will vouch for that
