    This is seriously one of the most thorough, well-thought-out, and clearly explained videos about applying to EPIK that I have ever seen! Great job! I really appreciate you showing what the actual forms and such look like and going through them step-by-step (especially with the lesson plan, since that is what I am struggling the most with right now). Thank you so much!

    Thank you for this info! I studied abroad in Seoul in 2019 and am wanting to apply to EPIK for spring 2025. I didn’t even know about the tattoo thing so thank you for mentioning that. I have my arms and legs pretty much covered in tattoos so I’m a little worried about that but I am able to cover them easily with long shirts/pants. I hope Korea is treating you well 💕

    Thank you so much for making this video it was very informative! I am a visual learner, so your example of documents helped so much. I was wondering if you can explain a little bit how getting documents apostille works. Like do I request my university transcripts/federal background check, then once I receive those documents I take them somewhere to be apostille.

    • @KarlaYaneth
      @KarlaYaneth  Рік тому

      Hi! Yes, you first want to request your university transcripts and federal background check. Once you get those documents, you can get them apostilled. I used Monument Visa to apostille my documents.

    Hi Karla! I really like your videos and I'll be studying abroad in Korea next semester. I feel a bit anxious about being away from home and my friends here. Could you make a video about how to make friends there?

    • @KarlaYaneth
      @KarlaYaneth  Рік тому +1

      Hi! So glad to hear you're coming to Korea! I completely understand how that could cause some anxiety but I will say that making friends as a study abroad student is very possible and not as difficult as you may think! You can make friends through your classes, joining groupchats, and even joining clubs at school. Sometimes Ewha will notify students about language exchange programs where you can meet another Ewha student who is a native Korean and it's a good way to improve your Korean skills and make a friend!

    Have a splendid day.

    • @KarlaYaneth
      @KarlaYaneth  Рік тому +1

      Hi! I did have to do a 5 min lesson plan during my interview. I prepared by looking at potential lesson topics and having a general idea of how to present that topic. For example, for the topic of weather, you may want to introduce vocab such as "it's sunny", "it's windy", "it's rainy", etc. I hope that's helpful and let me know if you have more questions!

    Thank you so much.
    It was very informative.
    Can you do me a favor of explaining the sealed transcript section , is it the original one I need to mail or the copy or could you please explain it to me. A bit confused with that.

    • @KarlaYaneth
      @KarlaYaneth  Рік тому +1

      Hi! So for the sealed transcript, I requested that my university mail me a sealed transcript and once I received that letter in the mail, I mailed it to EPIK along with other documents they requested. That means I did not open the letter since it should be sealed and unopened when it arrives to EPIK.

    hi girly your video has helped me immensenly!!!! i have a quick question, for the demo lesson for the interview, can we use the same lesson plan from the application you put down? or we have to come up with another one ?. youre very beautiful by the way!!

    • @KarlaYaneth
      @KarlaYaneth  Рік тому +1

      Hi! Thank you so much! I'm so glad this video was helpful for you :) As for your question, I believe the interviewer will choose the topic for you. So even though for the application I did my lesson plan on morning routines, I ended up having to do a demo lesson on "weather" during the interview. I highly recommend having a rough idea on some terms for each lesson topic that they tend to ask about in the interview. This includes emotions, prepositions, colors, family, shapes, morning, weather, body parts, counting, comparatives. I hope this helps!

    Hi, thank you for your information. My partner passed all documents process. We are waiting for the area where he is going to work.My question is can he arrive in Korea few days earlier than epik training period if his visa is all processed. Because we are living together and we want to finish the rent at the same time. I wonder we can fly together and he can join the training. Epik does not want to tell any other details about training and timeline. It is quite frustrated situation…. Please let me know thank you

    • @KarlaYaneth
      @KarlaYaneth  Рік тому

      Hi! From my personal experience, the EPIK orientation starts the day you arrive to Korea. I'm not sure if your partner is allowed to arrive sooner than the start of the orientation. I'm sorry that EPIK isn't providing you with more information. Maybe you can try contacting them over the phone to describe your situation. Most EPIK coordinators will have their contact information in their emails.

    Hi! I have asked this question on a few different forums so I was curious if you knew the answer! I am currently receiving certification for TESOL via my university, and I was curious if it could work the same as the TEFL? I was a bit confused and had always seen both of them in the requirements for different programs!

    • @KarlaYaneth
      @KarlaYaneth  Рік тому +1

      Hi! I believe a TESOL or TEFL certification are both accepted! I don't believe the requirements have changed since I first applied but I know that EPIK's website has the most up to date information :)

    Hi 2 questions:
    For the Recommendation letter, does the writer email the letter to me directly?
    The guidelines mentions “hard copy” of the LOR. Can I just print the scan/email the writer of my LOR wrote? How did you handle the whole LOR situation

    • @KarlaYaneth
      @KarlaYaneth  Рік тому +1

      Hi! For the recommendation letter, you have to submit it for the initial online application and send it again to EPIK when you're mailing over all the documents. For the initial online application, it's okay to have a scanned version of the letter with their signature on it. However, for the physical documents you send to EPIK via mail, you should have two letters of recommendation and have the writer actually sign the letter with an ink pen. A scanned signature on the letter won't be accepted when you send it to EPIK physically. I hope this helps! let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @GreyDoggyBone
      @GreyDoggyBone Рік тому

      @@KarlaYaneth hello thank you. 1 more question. say I am unable to pick up or have the original LOR. Can my professor email me a scan of the LOR (with ink signature) and I can simply print the letter?
      hope that makes sense. I'm states away my University. Hoping I can have my profs email me to make it convenient for them

    • @Lucy-ny4gs
      @Lucy-ny4gs Рік тому

      @@GreyDoggyBone i'm wondering about this too, I would either ask your university to mail you the physical copy of the signed letter or email EPIK directly and ask them. it's a bit of a hassle needing the original physical letter :/
