Based on working on flying planes, I like it best when those lower screws aren’t too far under the bottom. The further they are under the wheel pant, the harder it is to get a screw driver under there, especially if you’re lucky enough to have a flat..
That's a good point. The plans show the bottom screws up from the finished bottom edge about 1.5". Mine are slightly over 2". That may still be difficult to reach when on the ground.
