8-Ball is criminally underrated as a lyricist. Listen to his album “Lost”
Facts but don’t sleep on MJG
Lost is great. Don’t forget about West Memphis All Stars either. He has EVERYBODY from Memphis on there.
Correct 💯 but MJG is Deadly with it his self Flow to smooth

I'm from Chicago. Hands down, Ball & MJ are top 5 duos of all time. Changed my whole style of music. MJG is one of the most lyrical men, ever...
Man, I'm from the Chi too and when Lay it down hit it was on and popping on the lake!!
I can't change your mind because your mind is already correct!
Living Legends was definitely a classic in 2004. That album has no skips period.

"Ran a gold comb through my curls, walking out of the house slow telling that hoe come on let's go..."
8ball
We used to sneak and listen to this when we were kids. I was in 2nd grade in 93
@MansaX damn bruh you was in 2nd grade listening to that??? 😂
Lol same for me. I had older brothers and my moms worked at night. So once we got home, it was music all day and night.
My home town 🔥🔥🔥...... 2 of the most humble guys I ever met..... Whenever you see them in the 901 and speak they always take time to talk with you, even if it's only for a few minutes. They never 4got where they came from. Bethel Grove and Orange 🍊 Mound stand up 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shout to my family in Memphis TN 😊
I'm from Port Arthur Texas and I live my hometown artist Ugk and 8ball and MJG you know them boys is the one from another city I could relate too and even in PA I still felt that Memphis vibe and been on it since 93 💯
Don't never forget ON TOP OF THE WORLD

I met them at the VMAs Miami🌴humble guys frfr❤respect always to these 2 Legends of the South💪🏾💪🏾
Im 51 from Texas and man let me tell you you weren't nobody if you didnt have the latest Ball and JG cassette. The impact they had on hip hop in my opinion is only rivaled by RUN DMC and UGK. They are by far in the upper echelon of hip hop and this piece you did coming from a young buck perspective is VERY WELL put together bro. Keep doing your thang
Thank you so much for that compliment I deeply appreciate it. I just felt like they really don’t get the credit they deserve in hip hop lyrically. So since they’re my favorite duo of all time. I had to give them their flowers with this episode. I had to re-edit this episode 3 times before I got it right.
Amen that's the truth ❤
Facts 🇯🇲 Respect Frm GA 💪
Checking in from Dallas,Tx and the top 2 duos was Ball and G and UGK . Everybody else just fell in line behind these 2 !
"Love Hurts" I still play this regularly to this day
I'm from Dallas and Ball and G are legends. When coming out hard came out , there wasn't a football game , club , nor any event you pulled up to without here Ball and G. I'm 44 they are Legends, remember it like yesterday
I’m from Houston. We felt like they were just as much Houston as the Geto Boys were. I saw them live a few times. Really cool dudes. That Coming Out Hard album is perfection and we played that nonstop for a while.
Honor and Respect young brother. I'm 53 years young & from the STL. When 8 & MJG hit St. Louis they're music and Billboards where everywhere ⚡️ As far as repping the South they had Big BARZ 🔥 No disrespect to Triple 6 but they put Memphis on the map⚡️ Big Indian Business, Peace 🙏🏽💧💎
Much love and respect back to you my brother. DJ PAUL even gave Ball & G their respect by calling them the first rappers to blow up from
Memphis before them. 💯💯💯💯

I think what you’re really trying to say they were the first ones from Memphis that could lyrically compete with the East Coast

Man, man, man!
I'm born and raised in New Orleans. So, I was always looking for lesser known artists on the scene. I remember finding "Coming out Hard" in the record store. I grabbed it because they're from the south, and at that time, the south was just starting to make our mark in the hip hop game. From first listen, I was hooked. They had a fan. Before long, everyone was bumping that tape around the city. These guys are living legends for sure. They deserve more love than they've been getting.
You are from NOLA you remember Ball n G getting bump all over the city back in the day. This is no lie. When I moved to Flint in 88 they were getting bumped there too 😂 nation wide world wide Ball n G
Bro, I was 18 when Comin Out Hard came out. My boy played me "9 Little Milimeta Boys" and then "Mr. Big"... It was on from then on... Listen, bro, the simplicity of them beats, the deep southern rythms, and the clear lyrical story tellin them boys came with I still get chills listening to them songs. Southern Lyrical Excellence. Ball & G. Respect!!!
On top of the world 🌎 coming out hard in our lifetime balls solo double disk lost and many more some of the best albums of all time my favorite rap duo ever

MJG IS DEFINITELY A LYRICAL BEAST!!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Especially on those 1st 3 albums
He would've Wayne a run for his money 💰
@4pokketwalkerhomebaby153 Wayne isn’t even on MJG’s level when it comes to lyricism
They both are lyrically blessed to me
I'm from Louisville, been a Ball/ G fan since a young teen. Their music helped me through many tough times in my life. This is hands down the best work I've seen done on their legendary careers. I truly appreciate your work.
And I most definitely appreciate your viewership and compliment 💯💯💯💯 thank you so much

Same
My Favorite group too
I moved to Memphis in 1994. I preferred Ball and G over 3-6 at the time. I remember watching Yo! MTV Raps that showcased OutKast. At the end of the episode, the entire Dungeon Family was going nuts huddled up in a Cadillac listening to Ball’s verse from South Circle’s “Unsolved Mysteries”. Justifiably so. My man said he was 350 of Pimp N--a from Tennessee.
That whole South Circle Album was a problem 🔥🔥🔥
I hate they only had one album 😭😭😭
Real shit
Mr. Mike was a goon!!
@@TheMossNet always remember at least we got a posse cut in Lay it Down
I'm from Cincinnati and I grew up on Southern Hip Hop. Southern hip hop taught me to be proud of where I came from. Because I came up during a time where the south and the midwest were frowned upon in the music industry by the east coast calling us country in the 90's but I'm proud to say that the south has taught me alot. 💯
Yo man with Cincinnati being so close to Kentucky, does it feel totally different than Columbus and Cleveland

Im a grown man and still bumping all their music every week and every week I find something that makes more sense to that they said damn near 30 years ago. The album, Comin’ Out Hard, had the streets of, Memphis, in a frenzy. Everywhere in the city where there was anyone interested in hip hop was playing that album. No radio play was needed. No hype necessary. It was banging out of the trunks of vehicles, out of the houses, on every corner of, Memphis. Real people, real street credibility. That type of love that highly commercialized artists can’t pay for.

I’m from Gary Indiana and I grew up bumpin Ball and G hard! They legends in my city as if it was Memphis. The only comparison is OutKast and UGK. When Comin Out Hard dropped it was the beginning of the best era of rap and this album was a instant classic
Thanks for making this video I listen to them daily. I was 15 when Coming Out Hard came out. I had a 78 Delta 88 with concert in trunk. Spent many all nighters getting to bag listening to the Goats. I’m glad these stories are coming out. It’s the same all over the world. East coast might have started hip hop but we didn’t own anything. Stop the narrative that we didn’t play out of town music because we definitely did and most of our aunts uncles and grandparents and cousins for that matter comes from the south for sure. Please continue to educate and show that we all play each other’s music.
The powers that be tricked y’all again.

I'm from Cincinnati and Comin Out Hard was one of the soundtrack's my childhood. My pops used to play this shit daily. That album still in my rotation till this day. They really living legends.
Around the late 80s early 90s The Geto Boys was dominating the rap game in the south on the underground level. Then by 1991'' The 1st rapper i heard out of Memphis was ''Gangsta Pat'' his 1st album is a Hood Classic. Gangsta Pat is a Memphis Legend. Ball And MJG would come out around ''1993'' with ''Comin Out Hard'' Then 1994'' ''On The Outside Lookin In'' And On Top Of The Word in ''1995''. These 3 albums are my favorites by Ball & MJG. These albums went hard in the hood without no video's And no Internet at that time it was nothing But record stores back then🎶😎
As a fellow Memphian...I have to agree 1000000000% with this video. Ball & G are the best rap duo, hands down!! #spaceageforever

I’m from New Jersey the first time I heard 8Ball & MJG I was on vacation with my parents in Valdosta Georgia and the song was Pimps turnt me out, been a fan ever since
Boi, I'm from ATL the West Side. Simpson Rd., Bank Head, and MLK. At this time everybody had dat bass bumpen out the trunk!! I mean this was the dope boi era. It was Trues & Vouges, and speaker boxes with high power amps!! You could hear everybody's music roaring as they pasted by. Shawty, it was crazy how every car passed by you was bumpen Coming out Hard tape. It was over night. No cap. Their muzic is, and will forever stay in my rotation! I will never forget one night around 1999, or 2000. Me and my homies were in a club called World Bar, and they popped out of nowhere and started performing!!! We lost it. The best part was getting to pass MJG the blunt, and dap him up. All of my homies passed to them too, shid they was passing too😂
I'm from Arkansas and i was 17 when "Coming Out Hard" came out and the vibe was major! EVERYONE in the streets was bumping "Mr. Big" but my personal favorite was "9 millimeter boys." My favorite Ball & G album was "Outside Looking In."
Being from Cincinnati, my teenage years was spent bumping 8ball&MJG ! The summer of 93” all you heard was nine millimeter boy in dude’s trunk’s and Lay it down was the theme song when it was time to get busy

I'm from Chicago and I first got a hold of that coming out hard in late winter early spring in 94 when I was 15. Armed robbery was the song that I loved and through that song I started to love the rest of that album. But the vibe in high school and in the neighborhood everybody was loving those two cats. In every ride was bumping that Mr big, all the girls in highschool was singing nigas like us. We had this teacher named Mr osby who was from orange mound, but moved to Chicago to become a teacher. He got much respect because he was cool people, and him being from where ball and G from. All in all this we loved those cats and still do, but they was huge where I came up at.

Love this Dedication. I'm from St. Louis MO. My best friend had cousins from Memphis. We were like the first ones that were playing Comin' Out Hard in the hood. My friend's older brother had a gold Jetta and put tint letters on the back dashboard with Comin Out Hard on it. Everyone was like what are yall listening to? St. Louis loves 8 Ball & MJG. We rode to that tape all summer and year. The next Thanksgiving the Memphis cousins put us on Lyrics of a Pimp and On the Outside Lookin' In. Then it was over when Space Age Pimpin came out. Man, you have me reliving my childhood. We got a hold of Indo G and Lil Blunt. Tripe 6 came later on. This is probably the most underrated group ever. Especially MJG.

This was beautifully done sir! 8 Ball and MJG inspired a kid coming from RVA to Nashville TN in 95. My whole production approach was developed there and I was listening them hard! They made me start playing keys and adding in real instruments over top of the samples and all! Came back from there and started cutting records!! And I was the first to bump them around my city!!! People lost their mind and I told them then, the South bout to take over! You couldn’t deny it and they did and still doing it!!!
