Originario di Arras, nella regione di Artois, Adam de la Halle, giunse a Napoli intorno al 1282, alla corte di Carlo d'Angiò, all'epoca reduce dalla rivolta dei Vespri Siciliani. Fu proprio a Napoli che venne messo in scena per la prima volta Le jeu de Robin et de Marion, una sorta di pièce che alla parola alterna pagine musicali, sia monodiche che polifoniche, in cui si narrano le vicende della pastorella Marion, del suo promesso sposo Robin e di un cavaliere interessato più a Marion che alla caccia al falcone in cui è coinvolto. Una rappresentazione in musica che i Micrologus propongono affrontando
i vari problemi di lettura della notazione, di rapporto tra voci e strumenti musicali e di registro stilistico, da sempre attenti anche al contributo che lo studio delle musiche popolari ed etniche può fornire all'interpretazione del Medioevo.
ENGLISH VERSION
Born in Arras, in the Artois region, Adam de la Halle reached the court of Charles of Anjou, in Naples, around 1282, in the aftermath of the Sicilian Vespers. Naples saw the first staging of Le jeu de Robin et de Marion, a sort of play with music alternating monodic and polyphonic parts and narrating how young shepherdess Marion remained faithful to her betrothed Robin, resisting a knight who showed more interest in her than in the falcon he was chasing. This musical play will be performed by Micrologus, who have a long experience in the interpretation of medieval scores and in the problems with notation, with the relationship between voices and instruments, with stylistic registers, and who have always been aware of the contribution the knowledge of folk music can bring to the interpretation of medieval music.
