“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

I agree because listen you pay for what you get. Cant expect nails with 3 different glitters and bling and all the good stuff to be for $60. Nail supplies aren't too expensive (some are) but the time these designs take is serious.

Tracey, thank you so much for your comments “you can tell this is my first nail in a while”. I mostly work in hard gel but I have 2% who prefer acrylic and every time I have to make a new nail I say “Ok. Don’t judge it. I promise you’ll like it when I’m done” and I need 2-3 nails to get back in the groove. Thank you for being so relatable :)

Most people are shocked because this video doesn't show any crazy skill, the materials don't appear to be any higher quality than what the rest of us use, and the one freehand attempt was poorly executed and never corrected.
You've spoiled us with your other videos because we've seen you guys do some really innovative stuff and this just wasn't the right caliber of design for such a clickbaity video title. And be shaky about it. Sorry but I dont like her attitude x show me what you do then I believe you.

Her work is trash in my opinion it's just the bling appeal and the fact that she does Cardi nails that people pay up.
    Tracey does beautiful work!

After doing A LOT of thinking I decided to charge for extras based on the time I spend for them.... Meaning I start the timer when I do something that isn't in a standard procedure (reverse french glitter painting etc) and I stop the timer before applying the top coat (because top coat belongs to a standard procedure) and then I charge per minute that which I earn per minute when I do normal things so basically applying glitter on 2 nails would probably only cost about 2 bucks since i do it in less than 2minutes. I agree on that length I would add about 10 bucks for the extra materials and filing time. Although doing such long nails I recommend using some straight forward tips because it is easier to get an even shape without having to file for a long time.
I know people are rude here but that's just because they don't understand the pricing and the point you are trying to make... Which is to encourage techs to charge for extras... Maybe not as much as you would but at least start somewhere

Superior Place Great point. I don’t think anyone here disputes the thesis of the video, that’s why we all clicked on it. The reaction that you are referring to is the lack of execution in combination with the disappointment in her unprofessionalism when applying the product techniques. Believe me all of us wants to justify charging our clients $150 for a full set but the visual didn’t meet the intent. Yes. I think it’s not her usual work but definitely not worth $150

The young lady in the video does very nice nails and she does them super fast in addition to having cameras on her while explaining what she is doing. There's not one of you rude commenting people who could take her place! You all should be ashamed of yourselves for all the rudeness you've shown! Didn't your parents teach any of you manners? And/ or if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all? Salon prices are subject to the individual salon and/ or nail tech. If you want to pay for it you will otherwise you are welcome to go elsewhere. Having said that it depends on where you are and if the clients in your area value your talent. I feel nail techs in the last 20 years are undervalued since the opening of corner nail shops.I keep myself relevant by updating my education regularly. YoungNailsInc absolutely. I remember way back in the 90's when I first started getting my nails done (then I had to drive over an hour to find a nail salon) I'd get my French manicure and for prom or homecoming I wanted little "diamonds " added. It was $5 extra just to have my French tips airbrushed on then it was $5 per tiny stone. An extra $50 for one rhinestone on each nail (a full set cost $20 then) was MAJOR but I did spend it. So that's my long winded way of saying yes, you are right. You must charge for the extras. It is a business. If I want extra cheese at burger king they don't feel guilty charging me for it:)

We work in a salon and pay the rent and utilities, the permits, and we'll everything. For us nail techs it's expensive, so we charge what we charge. We were pretty satisfied with the outcome! Process doesn't have to be pretty as long as the outcome is!

I get some clients when we tell them the price up front and when it comes to pay when I do their nails. They argue with me, that I charge too much. I had one come back a few days later to take off and get a new set because she hated my work and got the same look from another tech and still got charged more the new set. I felt so much emotions. I honestly refuse to do that clients nails after that.

There will always be people that question or argue your prices. Even if you read through the comments on this video there are people questioning it, and that's fine. Your prices are your prices and that may not be for everyone but that's okay. Don't get down on yourself.

@Vol Canist you only charged $46 and she was still complaining and arguing your prices… that’s ridiculous. She must b a very cheap person cause I think that’s cheap for a set of nails. Forget about her

I’m having a hard time keeping clients at a $45 dollar rate. That includes a fullset with 2accent nails and 3 acrylic colors 😆🙈

Wow lucky clientele ! Our main focus is more to keep techs aware of needing to charge accordingly for additives even if your set prices are lower the art needs to be charged for.

YoungNailsInc right! 😆 got it👍🏼 another thing, Ive always been unsure how much to charge for Swarovski crystals. I’m currently charging .50cent a crystal.

Not a bad system. Especially for full finger of stones that prob adds up

Use a fan brush for the general whispiness of the feather and the come back with a striping brush or details.
