    Hi! What kind of colour did you use please????

    If you took a light up to the dyed transpa art, when you used the red dye, would it look more orange or yellow? I'm looking to try this for a cosplay project that involves tinting a star and led lights, but need it to be tinted yellow. I'm not sure if I should just buy yellow dye or try out the red for 15 minutes. Thanks!

      +Blue Rei I would use yellow dye for your project 😁

    Hello! I'm planning on using some transpa art for a project in the future (I'd like to cosplay a character with crystalline/translucent hair - it could turn out disastrous trying to make it actually translucent, but it seems like a fun experiment), and this tutorial is just what I've been looking for!
    I have a few questions, if you wouldn't mind answering them. :0c
    Do you know if the amount of dye used have an effect on the colour that the worbla ends up? Like, would using more dye give it a more intense colour? Or, conversely, would the colour end up being too light or washed out if not enough is added?
    Also, while I've gathered that leaving it in the bath for longer amounts of time will make the colour more intense, is it possible to leave it in for too long? How long would you say that would be? Given that it's heat sensitive, I wouldn't want it to melt whilst in the bath or something like that and end up wrecking it.
    Either way, this is a wonderful and informative tutorial! Thank you very much for uploading it!

      Oooooh! Is it a land of the Lustrous cosplay?
      When dyeing anything, it’s both the amount of dye and the time in the bath that will determine the color. To get a super saturated color you can either add more dye and leave it in for a shorter amount of time, or you can add less dye and leave it in for longer. It all depends on how precise you want your color.
      You won’t have to worry about leaving the worbla in the dye bath for too long. If takes to synthetic dye really well, so it doesn’t have to be in there for more than 20-30 minutes. It don’t think you’ll have any problems with it retaining its shape.

    Question!
    If you then heat it up and stretches it, does it still stay in color or is the color just sticking to the "start" surfaces of the worbla? If you get what I mean. x3 Shortly, I just wanna know if the color still stays when later stretched. I need to make big transparent but colored wings that no pot or pan can contain. XD

      It will probably get a little lighter because clear worbla tends to turn more opaque when you stretch it. You’ll have to test it out! If you’re trying to make big transparent wings, maybe try getting a big shallow tote to dye the worbla in instead of stretching it.

    Is it possible to dye it black like sun glasses or would layering lighter black sheets be a better idea?

    • @OneEmilys
      @OneEmilys  6 років тому

      +Todoliver69 I think giving it a quick dip in a black dye bath would totally work!

  • @FloridaFootsteps

    After the sheet is dyed, does it retain the color even when heated or stretched afterwards?
