I publicly acknowledge those fine Shure headphones were a gift from my brother Sudeep! Sethi Saab aap Dubai se paise bhejte rehna, main yaha mall pe mall banate rahunga.
Look at that glow in the face when talking about Shakti! I feel that 😬 For anyone new to the concept of the chromatic thing, check out approach notes and enclosure. Matt Warnock's website might have some exercises on that. ✌🏽️
Always nice to hear the thought process that goes into writing a piece of music. 😊 My fav part is from 3:36 to 4:00. It's so simple and blissful. Btw, 3:25 to 3:28.. is that run chromatic?
Yes, recording this solo was a lot of fun! The lick you mentioned goes down Eminor7 and comes up C#dim. Basically what jazz musicians call a minor ii V resolving to D major. Keep in mind I'm tuned a whole step down so if you want to play along, find these chords in C Major! Hope this helps.
@@dnikhilrao Thank you so much Nikhil. I have now understood two things: 1. How to play the solo 2. How little I know about music theory 😂 Hopefully I'll be up to speed soon.
I like these episodes. Been an indian ocean fan and listener for many years now. One request regarding these episodes I have is: If you could mention the names (and possibly web links) of works of artists/bands/ inspirations, which are named during the duration of this episode and which seem befitting in the context of the song. For me, as a young film making person, it will be nice to be exposed to and hear all these people from Shakti, V. selvaganesh ji's dad, to Zakir Hussain.
Absolute fan sir... guitar still with me because of u sir...many thanks
Awesome headphones. Even better video!
