Not at all. He said that the public works wasn't doing it so he would. The irony is that he doesn't want the government to do anything, and yet, as a government employee he goes and does it.
A part of me is sad that Chris wasn't there. He would have been the MOST excited he'd ever been to see these two people he inadvertantly brought together solidy their love through legal contract.
I like her boundary when ron doesnt acknowledge the way he hurt her daughters. She doesnt mistreat him, just says "not good enough, good day". He then does the proper thing and ponies up. Well done
Diane loves Ron but doesn't put up with his bullshit. Also, considering Ron made wedding rings using an old light fitting and a waffle iron, that he dind't make the girls two maginificent metal tiaras.
For someone as blunt bordering on self centered as Ron, Diane really was perfect. She is someone who knows how Ron thinks and isn't going to just put up with it because she has her own priorities like her daughters.
It's a great scene. Tammy was always unbridled chaos and was usually able to make Ron's previous girlfriends and friends uneasy. Diane however doesn't fear her.
I cackled the first time I watched that scene! Tammy’s expression was like, “Nope, nope, not worth it…” Pretty sure we all know Diane could easily take her (or anyone else) on without leaving so much as a hair out of place.
I never noticed this any of the times I actually watched the show, but at 2:09 Diane's daughter calls him Daddy instead of Ron like they used to call him, that is pretty wholesome.
I just love the smile Ron gives when Diane smiles back at the suggestion of getting married right then and there on the fourth floor.🥰💜💜💜 Also, I love that Andy helped initiate getting them together.😉
When "Diane Tammy Lewis" becomes one of the best jokes in your series you have proof that you did an outstanding job with your characters and storylines.
I always thought it was fitting that Ron Swanson wound up with Xena Warrior Princess. And that Xena's talents prepared her for a future as a middle school vice principal.
I never caught Diane's girls calling Ron daddy during the festival scene! Sad that that implies their biological dad is out of the picture for one reason or another, but I love how that shows the degree to which Ron has been cemented into the family.
Ron's story arc is one of the most unexpected and underappreciated in television. To watch this man's heart melt, reluctantly at first, and then enthusiastically, was so amazing! Parks and Recreation is one of the best TV shoes ever! ^_^
Diane is the most recent incarnation of her first true form Xena Warrior Princess, in fact the show Xena even had a bit where she specifically reincarnated in the 90's as an American. We now know that was foreshadowing.
i love seeing tammy is all bark no bite, she can yap yap yap but as soon as diane is like, get those cuffs off so it can be a fair fight- tammy got scared
Diane: Yours is the most beautiful, they would be crazy not to vote for you Also Diane: doesnt actually know which one Ron made This woman really showing us what a loving and supporting partner is like
Lucy Lawless - such a badass artistic surname! 😂👍👏. Great actress. Great screen presence. I wish we had more of her on TV and movies. Lucille Frances Ryan - eternal Xena - from NEW ZELAND, 1968.
7:40 my real dad gave me a circular saw for Christmas when I was 17, my real mom made him return it in exchange for an electric drill. I'm still not 100% comfortable using a circular saw. Drop saw or chainsaw I'm MUCH more comfortable. ❤✌️😊
I love how Ron is the definition of non-toxic masculinity. He’s manly and likes what he likes but he isn’t intimidated by a woman who matches his energy, he indulges his daughters interest even when it disrupts his quiet time… he’s such a great father.
Hahahaha she is famously from New Zealand which you can even hear if you listen for it in these clips! But I do really like her as well so appreciate the sentiment
Nick Offerman reading the script: "Oh, today I have to call my dear beloved wife a "Sewer dwelling gutter witch"? Well she did forget to bring me a snack yesterday so...."
Definition of irony: Ron Swanson found love through a government program.

Every woman ron has been with has been a public service worker.
and married a princess despite hating monarchies
Diane pretending her middle name was Tammy was top tier
i was gonna make that same comment(in my own words, but the same essence), but i see i got here 6 hours too late.
well played, sir, well played......
@@sabin97🤓
me and my gf both died laughing
after that we wanted nobody but Diane for Ron
Who is Diane? I'm seeing Xena Warrior Princess on my screen
i have a feeling, Ron would still go through with the ceremony.
Diane’s just completely different.
I love how Andy is basically Ron's kid playing with Diane's
❤❤❤
And matchmaker.
Andy and April are basically his adopted children, Leslie is his adopted sister and Typhoon is his best friend.
Andy went from man-child to child-man
"I love you, but your solution to every problem is to live inside a mountain" LOL
Ron would've loved Tolkien... He'd get along well with the dwarves more than anything.
It's my solution to everything. lol
As a man who lived next to a mountain for over twenty years, I also want to live in the mountain.

Fifty bucks on Diane.
I cackled the first time I watched that scene! Tammy’s expression was like, “Nope, nope, not worth it…” Pretty sure we all know Diane could easily take her (or anyone else) on without leaving so much as a hair out of place.
Tammy might have crazy chaotic energy but she would burn out fast while Diane wouldn’t even break a sweat.
Don't mess with Xena.
I love how Diane generates this aura of normal in an otherwise... Pawnee.
She must be from out of town... She's too... completely not insane to be from Pawnee...
Diane was one of the best additions to a show ever, and Lucy is perfection!
Lucy fLawless
She should have been in more episodes.
One of the best casting choices of all time
100% agree.
'Parks & Rec' was a rare show with nothing BUT good additions - Adam Scott, Rob Lowe, Kathryn Hahn, Billy Eichner, etc.
Diane shopping at Food 'n Stuff had Ron intrigued. Her wanting to know how to fix a pothole locked him in.
❤❤❤
@taracarr38 Diane saying she can do the work herself now was just gravy to him. He always said he likes a Strong woman and Xena ain't no bish 😂
Ron Swanson and Xena: Warrior Princess, now THAT’S a power couple.
I came here with those exact sentiments
The Only man who could tame Xena

She works in an elementary school 😂😂
Xena

She's so gorgeous. Lucy Lawless has such an amazing smile. I love that she brought that Xena coolness to the Diane character.

It's funny how the person that plays Tammy, is actually Nick Offerman's wife. Must of been fun for both of them, during shooting.
It was
According to the both of them it was great therapy for their marriage because they got to be as unhinged as they wanted.
Megan Mullalley. She also played Karen on Will & Grace, and voices Linda’s sister on Bob’s Burger. Love her in absolutely everything she’s in!
You can tell that they were having a ton of fun with most of their scenes, especially when they get more and more outrageous.
@@SunflowerHeliotrope From the creators of Bob's Burgers she's also in The Great North which also has Nick Offerman as part of the main cast.
When "Diane Tammy Lewis" becomes one of the best jokes in your series you have proof that you did an outstanding job with your characters and storylines.
I gasped the first time I saw that on the show lol
Ron chuckling and just looking at people when they question his abilities is so cool.
"Yes, officer. Please get her out of those cuffs. I want this to be a fair fight!" That wasn't Diane talking....that was Xena!
Andy’s mischievous wing man side eye to the cam when Ron and Diane mention Food and Stuff
I always thought it was fitting that Ron Swanson wound up with Xena Warrior Princess. And that Xena's talents prepared her for a future as a middle school vice principal.
the perfect woman doesn't exist...
Diane: Hold my chakram
The way i see it, perfect woman was very high rarest
I'd expect nothing less from Xena Warrior Princess 👸🏻👸🏻
I never caught Diane's girls calling Ron daddy during the festival scene! Sad that that implies their biological dad is out of the picture for one reason or another, but I love how that shows the degree to which Ron has been cemented into the family.
I loved it when he said hide the children.
"I love you, but your solution to every problem is to live inside a mountain" Honestly a mood
Lucy Lawless is an absolute treasure. I couldn’t imagine anyone else able to portray Diane half as well as she did.
It was a missed opportunity not entitling this segment as "Diane: Warrior Princess."
I was gonna comment this! LOL... People don't know who she really is...
Change it to “Diane: Warrior *Queen*” and then we’re golden. Lucy Lawless slays wherever she goes. Bow down to the Queen! 👑

To this day, I wanted to see Diane throw hands with Tammy 2. I can just picture Tammy 2 running away from Diane in that weird way she does.
When she first showed up, I had absolutely had no idea that was Lucy Lawless. She looks sooooo ........... Normal in civilian clothes.
I feel she should've appeared more
She is a true badass wife and mother
4:35 one of them said “bye dad!!” So they have accepted him as their father.
I really wanted a spin off series about Ron and Diane
Two American kids grown up, in the Heartland.
Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone ❤
It'd be boring because it'd be functional and happy
Therefore no show
Same, ngl
I would pay a crazy amount of money to see a no-hold fight between Diane & Tammy 2
Lucy is a goddamn treasure. And you know for a fact pratt was really just playing with those kids.
I love how the only thing Ron Swanson is insecure about is his woodwork on a competitive level
