I see them as like the human representations of depression and anxiety lol. April being depression while Ann is anxiety. They both usually arrive together or you either have one or the other. Completely different emotions with different mechanisms yet both function well together.

This is basically what's going on with my sister and my bestie right now 😂 My sister is this preppy valley girl and my bestie is a quirky, sarcastic rebel. But since I'm getting married and they both want to help out, they are forced to spend time together and my sister is trying to make my bestie her bestie too. Should be a fun journey...

Honestly...Ann was always kind of a one-dimensional character whose defining trait was that everyone inexplicably liked her. April doesn't do anything just because that's what your supposed to do, so she sees that the emperor has no clothes and wants nothing to do with that nonsense
