  • In the hills of West Virginia, Chris and Donnie Davisson interview local coal miners about their experience working in the mines of the Appalachian Mountains.
In episode two, Mike discusses about his experience working in the coal mines starting right out of high school and the first time he seen DBB at Walmart. Tune in to learn more!
Dark as a Dungeon is an anthem for hard workers everywhere who spend weeks away from family, and in some cases in extreme conditions. The song is also a cautionary tale, “come listen all of you fellas so young and so fine….seek not your fortunes,” warns a knowing Davisson. “It’ll become a habit that’s attached to your soul….there’s just no escaping that life in the hole.” The hole being literal (for some) and for others a metaphor for the endless pursuit of earning money, while spending time away from family and loved ones.

I truly believe that this is one of the hardest scariest jobs out there. These men have to be mentally and physically strong. A lot of these guys have crawled on their bellies, to dig the coal!!!!! These are amazing men that should always be honored for their hard work and there bravery to give us electric and years ago heat!!!!!! Thank you for taking care of all of us !!!!
