Every video to solve this problem suggests these solutions. If the screen is unresponsive how can you even tap on settings or do anything else other than restarting. Btw, that restarting tip helped and it saved my day so that you for that.
My issue I have a 12 pro max and the bottom half of the screen on UA-cam comments down I can’t click on anything. I can pause the video and pull the video down but can’t click comments can’t click the add nothing. So I ended up hooking phone up to laptop go to iTunes and do a complete factory reset through it which removes the original iOS download and puts it back. Seems to have fixed it

Nothing works for me. The only signed ipsw now via iTunes are iOS 16.4 and 16.4.1 I downgraded my firmware to 16.4 but the unresponsive screen touch is not resolved. So annoying.
I am facing slight delay in touch(iPhone 12 iOS 14.6) for example if you open Netflix select any series click on seasons tab and after coming back from it, it is not responding immediately we need to wait a second. I’m getting pretty fucking annoyed. Autocorrect helps a bit but I also prematurely send messages on Snapchat, etc. I never had this issue with the iPhone 5 and 6s.

I had the same problem but mine was unresponsive on the top right side. I just turned the iPhone off and back on and it’s working again.
