Great lyrics and it doesn't matter but seeing as some are taking issue with the lyric "hanging on a tree" I thought I would point out the bible uses almost those exact words when talking about jesus' death on the cross in Galatians 3:13.

I ADORE the lyrics. Very well-written. That said, I would have liked to have heard a deeper/stronger, more Adele-like voice singing it. She sings with so much emotion, and if there was someone with that kinda oomph behind her voice, it would REALLY make this song amazing. :D Thanks so much for sharing your awesome skills with us. :)
The young lady that wrote these lyrics had put this out from singing in her bedroom a capella and her voice was EXCELLENT. I wish so badly I could find that video now! I think I first heard it almost 10 years ago (and at the time she was still living with her parents I think).

The cross was made out of wood from a dogwood tree, the tree used to grow super tall, and after Jesus was crucified the dogwood tree never grew that tall again.
the lyrics are pretty good, but the vocal quality of this is bad. its probably the equipment but it sounds kind of 70's ish. if you could get live mikes it would probably sound a little better
