    People not being able to buy your finds quick enough before they sell out is a great problem to have, I'd say! I'm glad your finds are so popular.

      It’s good but I always feel bad if it’s something they really wanted. So we’re always trying to find more of the popular items.

    The etched two handle is an open sugar that goes with the creamer you picked up.

    I remember those little character statues from the mid-1970s in Hallmark. They could have been around before, then, though... very 1960s/70s. I remember "independently" shopping when I was 10 or 11 for gifts for my mom and dad and loved those little types of things that were 'allowance' friendly. 😅 ~Laura ❤

    A good rule of thumb to check if something is crystal is to pluck it with your finger if it rings it is crystal. the last store you cleaned up...

    • @angelagoins9384
      @angelagoins9384 Місяць тому +1

      yes, when she hit the crystal together on the shelf it makes a beautiful bell sound, but recommend the pluck test too. Best to do the pluck test while not holding the item because sometimes the vibrations will be "interrupted" by the way a piece is held. Hopefully that makes sense.

    • @lesliejackson8188
      @lesliejackson8188 Місяць тому +1

      *Jami, you can also wet your finger and press it on the lip of the crystal or glass item and keep circling your wet finger around and around. If the piece is crystal, it will begin to "sing" as you keep moving your finger‼️😉*

  • @cynthiafisher9907
    @cynthiafisher9907 Місяць тому

    Wow, that All American canner was an amazing find! Those little statues with funny sayings were popular in the early 70s. About the frame that doesn’t have the stand, you could buy a really cheap on the same size and swap them out.
    I wish you would have gotten the painted clock, it looks Swedish.

    I wish we had a DI thrift store here on the East Coast. The Goodwill over prices their "free donations" i craft as well and usually can find some great wreaths to take apart and redo to sell.

    *Jami and Zeb, you found some AWESOME things this week❣️ My favorites are the Tall and Slender Godinger creamer, the GORGEOUS Original Fall Trees Oil Painting from 1940 with the gold plaster frame, the crystal and glass sugar/creamer sets, the wooden antique clock, the blue and white ceramic clock, the white nativity set, the artichoke plate, the 2 Warren Kimble plates, the rose blossoms china teacup with its darling 3 little legs and its matching roses saucer. WHEW❣️ What a FUN LIST‼️. PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT PAINT THE ANTIQUE WOODEN CLOCK❣️❣️❣️ And FYI, Jami, regarding the glass and crystal sugar and creamer sets: I come from an Antique Dealer's background, and sugar bowls from that era in the sets you bought did not have lids. 😊 WOW‼️ THEY SURE ARE PRETTY and are from the Depression era - 1930's❣️ And the crystal (I think it may be glass - I would have to see it in person to be sure) candle holder for 2 candles (with the pretty finial in the center and the etching on the base) is very old. It's most likely from the 1930's or very early 1940's before WWII ended. 😊 Hope this is helpful information for you; I don't want you to "give" those things away, by not charging enough‼️😳😉*

    Seth Thomas clocks, they now have a mini museum.
    Waterbury CT was the brass center, Waterbury brass made buttons that were used in the civil war uniforms.
    There are some beautiful Victorian homes in Waterbury but the mill rate is so high the homes are suffering.

    The doubled handled glass piece is an open sugar bowl. Not all silver-plate is created equal. The heavier pieces are usually higher quality.

    I am surprised you are finding inexpensive items for resale at your thrift shop! For the last 5 to 10 years the thrift shops I've been to are very very aware of resellers and check any item that might look remotely valuable up online and they even have some former resellers as the clerks/cashiers and mark the prices up! I'm not a reseller.The Goodwills I've been to, it's not one of more favorite stores, overprice everything whether it's junk or not. You 2 must be fortunate enough to be going to those stores where the sorters and clerks are clueless about pricing!
