Detailed update on incoming large low for NZ
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 чер 2024
- Today’s video has much more detail about a large low pressure system developing over the next couple of days and how it’s likely to linger over NZ well into next week. The low brings pockets of severe weather into both islands but also plenty of “normal” weather conditions for this time of year too.
Today we go into more detail about the likely tracking of this low and therefore the weather (and severe weather) it may produce.
We’ll have more details in the days ahead as this low develops and sets in.
Here’s the latest forecast for NZ up until Monday of next week. - Розваги
What a bizarre start to winter, Phil!! 10 days into June & it can't decide whether it's winter or spring!! 😊
Yeah it's all over the place!!
Your weather reporting is going from strength to strength!
Thank you very much! :)
I don't mind a few days of rain coming as this year has been beautiful for the most part. Thank you and the team for you daily update, very informative
you would make a really good teacher, I understand weather so much better with your videos :)
Thank you! Does it show that I grew up in a school house with a father as a Principal?! :) Phil.
Thanks for your update, its lovely and warm in the sun in Christchurch.

Enjoying the lovely sunny days on the East coast of the North Island! Great start to winter, thank you
Thank you. Phil, I don't always comment, what can I say, I have traveled extensively and your daily videos are some of the best, clearest and informative weather forecasts I have seen or heard anywhere in the world. Well done and thank you. Take care wherever you are.
Thank you very much Harold, I really appreciate that! From Auckland :)
Thanks, Phil. We were having such a sunny morning, and then the big dramatic clouds rolled in towards Lyall Bay.
Thanks for the another great explanation Phil. I love it how you are easily able to communicate and convey where the certainty and uncertainty in the weather forecast lies in simple terms which is something other forecasters seem to lack. I can imagine when we get messy weather systems like this one it causes you major headaches in trying to make sense in what to forecast.
Hi Alex, thank you for the awesome feedback. And yes it can be frustrating for us - not so much trying to make sense of it but dealing with some people who get really angry when a forecast changes!
Great forecasting and very detailed as always well done team 👍👍
Thank you!
Friday not looking the day to have taken off for Field Days in the Waikato ! Thanks team
Thanks Philip! Looking like a mix bag forecast is persisting for us in the deep south for a while.

The Daffodils are coming out in Auckland
Lol, Auckland never makes sense!
Very changable conditions must be a headache trying to forecast, or rather explain to people why forecasts are changing
Excellent presentation as always. Clear, to the point. Impressive.
Next update 12/6/24
So the blue areas are the driest on the map ....and the brown the wettest....upside down world 😊

What's the name of the app please

Get some things right as its not right to have| north west winds and bad weather as you need a new Computer and how will you read this weather with no Internet and mobile system
Zoom Earth is 4 hours faster...real time aswel...not a correlation of ideas vaguely predicted by a computer
Well of course a video is going to date compared to a live website. But the maps you use in Zoom Earth all comes from the same place as the maps we use in the videos! GFS - it's the exact same computer modelling. Also, the forecast data on our websites is the most accurate on earth and updates globally every 15minutes - mapping the entire earth's atmosphere (via The Weather Company). But in saying that, use other sources if it helps make sense of it all - some visuals are great from other sources. We also have PredictWind - a bit like Zoom Earth but ever higher resolution for NZ.

Oh dear, better get my johnny longs on🩲🥼🌦☃
