  • In this video, I show you the fun I had trying to fit these Bilstein B14 coilovers to my brand new Volkswagen UP! GTI
I also give a quick summary at the end of what I think of them vs standard!
Like the content enough to hand over actual monies?

Interesting to see you working on such a new car. I have B12s on my car and it's really a great upgrade so imagine the coilovers must be good as well. Also love the Coke can centre cap haha!

Fitted B14 to my UP as well. Ok, speed bumps are horrible, but for the rest the car feels as if it weighs nothing anymore. In 2 years nobody ever came close to my roundabout corners speeds. But... comfort for the rear passengers is nearing zero...
Fitted Continental 205/40/17 tires, and the car feels glued. Traction control is out of business unless on very slippery roads.

Great video - looking forward to following the story. Very tempted to do the same to mine. Great car - just needs a few little tweaks 👍

Hi Jason, love the channel... Great little car. But new.... not sure about the direct your channel is going... Will still be watching... just prefer the old girls needing some TLC.

So, the trick for the right side is to comptess the spring while the strut is still in the car? I gave it a go today, but on the right side the driveshaft is hitting so the strut wont come clear of the spline. 😕

Yeah. You have to get a lot of compression on it!

HI - how is the UP! gti doing, can you rate this car compared to an Audi A2? Whatsyour thoughts on the UP!

I traded it in for a Golf GTI! As much as I loved it, it never really got under my skin as much as I would’ve liked. Not sure why. The A2 is lighter and probably better built, but old and as I’ve documented they have their issues!!

The UP is a big change from the Range Rovers. Are you going to do a vid telling the story?

I just fancied one, is the short story. The intro video has a bit of background into why I went for one. Essentially I love hot/warm hatches and fancied something new for a change!

It's great working on new cars clean ish hands,,,but VW drum brakes on the rear , this guy needs disc's all round 😆👍

No. On a light car like the UP the rear brakes do near to nothing. Result: rust, defective calipers. Makes zero sense.
