@@lachonayunabotella4703 I have read that most people just don’t do the essay part because 1) you don’t get a lot of points for it and 2) it’s hard to score high on the essay. I think I will skill the essay once I am ready to take my test. Best of luck if you haven’t taken your yet.

I had my GED RLA and I got 153! Its not that hard but you have to be good in reading comprehension part ❤️ I believe that anyone can do it if they put some effort on it!

@@gimmimalighterback3726 the essay portion carries on 20% of the whole mark *100* also rest of my batch mates got 0 in the essay portion so focusing on the reading comprehension is important, Point to be noted, I am not telling you to skip the essay part if you can figure the right passage and write in an organized manner the congrats that will be you extra marks. But I highly recommend you to give your full effort on the reading comprehension part..!!!

Thank you so much for your videos ,for the last week or so I watched so many of your videos and today I did my RLA test and passed with a 160 score 😊 .I followed your tips on reading and comprehension and also when doing the Essay and with that for me that didn’t went to elementary school or High School in the US I think this test was a piece of cake

@@motapparel that’s awesome. How long do we get for the ged reading? I am scheduled to take my test Friday and I’m really worried. Not really about the test but about the time.
When I went to school I didn't have issues with reading comprehension, but I haven't been since 7th grade and I've forgotten how schools want you to read. It's annoying, I can read and comprehend just fine but you HAVE to do it their way. It's more about learning what they want than what to do.
Yeah I agree--being forced to read certain books you don't want to read and having to do things a certain way doesn't work for a lot of people. Thanks for watching.

That is the same issue I am having. I can read and comprehend just fine, but when it comes to their ways of doing things makes me feel like I really don't know what I thought I knew. Makes you feel like I am not intelligent enough to pass.
Thanks for going over Reading Language Arts on comprehension. I've took my test back on March 25th got score 143 which is highest ever gotten on GED test ever! And my teacher gave me new pre-ged test to retake anytime, during my sixty days are up into retaking actual GED Reading Language Arts again until I pass. I've retaken Reading Langage arts test and pre test many times, starting to get hang of it and my writing on extended response is way better than I was in the classroom four years back, I'm longest student been back and forth from in class to online and between East Area and West Area now put on 13years as GED student. This is the last test I've took over the past two and half years since my math back on March 31,2022 then Social Studies March 18,2021 and Science May 16,2019. I've realized prior that March to May is best time for next subject into passing as 34yr old.

I have a question here . Doesn’t reading & language go together. Reason I ask cause one time before I took the real ged test they told me I pass the reading part . So did that meant I pass the language as well . Now that’s years ago . Gotta talk them both over now

@@zakiasadeqi9774 the practice tests are shorter and a bit more confusing alot of people have said , but ive never took a real test !! And they have said its longer but not that confusing

Hello, I wanted to thank you for your videos. Your videos really helped me pass all my GED tests, although my scores weren't perfect I still passed them. Before I started to watch your videos I payed $140 for GED classes on line and for me this classes did not help at all. You have lots of different videos and I really enjoyed watching them, and if I can make a small suggestion in some videos you talk little too fast, its not a big deal, but for me I had to rewind few times which is ok. I wanted to say thank you again for all your hard work putting those videos together.

millien marc-arthur there was three parts to the test . First one was Was multiple choices the second one was also multiple choices and the last part was the essay. The essay is 45 minutes and the multiple choice was like 60 minutes I think

Hello parker from test prep champions I did the paraphrasing problem and rote the answer I thought the main idea was. I wrote " Africa cannot afford to waste a necessity like water for a luxury like diamonds", and then reworded the main idea to came up with... "Dimond mining in Africa could be the downfall of Africans from the overuse of water." According to your main idea you chose the first sentence and reworded it like you did in the video. I am a little confused on why you got a different answer than I did?😕

I understand I had stopped in the 8th grade and I had also lost my confidence. But don't worry about it as much. Your confidence will come back to you as time goes on, and you pursue your studies. I passed with a 149 and i studied all the wrong things
I am too scared to take RLA again. I failed two previous Rla reading exam. Too difficult for me. Feel so nervous and can't concentrate at all 😭
When a very long passages are on the test, I already decided to give up before I try to read.

The "Paragraphs" I got were really 2-3 paragraphs in one. This advice seems not so helpful when you need to read more than an entire page of a book. There's also 1 main, complicated idea, that can't be highlighted individually, as well as 6+ extensions of that idea, or "supporting ideas".
I struggle to paraphrase too, because after I read the paragraph, my mind keeps jolting to how that explained the idea and I end up essentially writing the same dang thing in "my words" .
I'm starting to genuinely wonder if I'm autistic.
I also find when you paraphrase the paragraph, you tend to dumb it down too much and lose some of the nuance in what's being said, and so you aren't exactly interpreting accurately. Different words have subtly different meanings which do change the way something is interpreted.
