At 18:10 when we have to extrude my top layer sinks into its self and doesn't allow for me to transform the vertices without there being a massive hole at the top is there something that went wrong? any help would be appreciated thank you.
i had alot of trouble with this. i copied the top and didnt use solidify then i made the shape, extruded the underside upto the mirror

Research hard surface modeling.
Cleaning up in 26:30 is a mistake of bad modeling. The object should have been done differently.
Watching you teach people to merge vertices without the merge vertices selected and taking the long and inconsistent route is not fun. Watching your model be unaligned is not fun. You're teaching people and you can't even model proper. Crazy.
