Alana Wins Gold in Abu Dhabi and catch up on Harvard CS50

Alana is in Abu Dhabi, where she won a gold in her category in an international competition. She rode a camel and saw sunrise from the observation floor of the Burj Khalifa. We also caught up on her progress on Harvard CS50, which she started last spring. After taking a break for the summer, she started from the beginning again this year. She is finding it both easier and she understands it more deeply than last year, often without asking for help. We compared her drive for competing in jiu-jitsu with her drive for working through Harvard CS50 at age 12. She decided while there is some commonality with respect to perseverance and drive, the activities are fairly different in practice.
