In this episode, we reached the Thanjavur Military Hotel In the heart of Chennai city, when most of us still feeling lazy to wake up at 8 AM in the morning, this place Thanjavur Military Hotel, is already serving piping hot Biryani to it’s regular patrons. 108 years and still going strong, this place has maintained many things, like how it was started by it’s founder, four generations ago. Mr. Gangadharan the current proprietor still maintains the age old tradition of cooking over coal fire.

Mutton Fry Rs 120 small 6 or 7 pieces that also had two mutton liver pieces. For a Non-A/C hotel which dont have even proper air or seats its over priced. Masala are home made but not very tasty

I went this hotel, very worst atmosphere and our tiger rice is better than this hotel briyani worst. But the mutton brain fry is good and egg dosa is good but pls dont tried to briyani my humble request.

மிலிட்டரி என்றால், ராணுவம் என்று அனைவரும் அறிந்ததே.

I find the muttai dosa and mutton biriyani to be xcellent. Only prob is too much crowd and very cramped place so i always have to take away parcels...
Food is not good. Mutton is too tough in Biriyani. They didn’t cook the meat properly. Secondly, the Country Chicken gravy, the chicken pieces is with the skin. Not cleaned properly. Too much spicy. Egg dosa was OK. Not recommended. Price: Mutton Biriyani: 160, Country Chicken Gravy: 150, Egg dosa: 60. Not worth for money for the cheap atmosphere...
Country chicken should be with skin.. its not poultry chicken

Not Worth for the money. After watching this video I visited this hotel. The hotel was too congested. Taste was not that great it was just okay, considering 100 years of it's existence. Most disappointing part of the visit was the bill. I was charged 1700 but I would pay just 500 to 600 for the food we had.
Admin please suggest us only the best eateries.
