@kittyrandomvd x I was about to say the same lol
Right I had to click to make sure it was actually him
@kittyrandomvd x True🤣 I was about to say since when
He does interviews, just not TBC - with CTG
CTG and Yee were upset that Bruno didn't stop by TBC to promote the free concert he did at The Apollo.
Bruno is stepping in to icon territory. Please treat him as such.
He's already there Queen!

Bruno is already a legend
Facts. He’s nearing legendary status and he’s in his 30’s
Bruno is one of those few artist that can drop a hit single and disappear. Then come back like nothing happened.
The Sade effect
Like Prince, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie
Yaaaasssssssss
he lets the anticipation simmer.... i bet hes got a bunch of albums ready to go posthumously like prince.
one can dream
And thts what happened lol
Does Bruno think he fell off? Every song he releases is a HIT
Nah he’s just putting pressure on himself
Nah. Plus the man puts out quality over quantity. A true artist. Shoutout to anderson as well
No, I think he was trying to explain that many of the songs are the same songs over and over again, in a different light. So it was dark for a minute, meaning there was no real inspiration till .paak stepped into the studio.
Because he works on each song for “2 years”😂😂
No cap
The musicality that's about to be on this project...
Understand me. So fye!!
This is such a breath of air compared to what’s out there now!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰
AND they have the legendary BOOTZILLA!! Bootsy Collins!!
Oh the album BEEN done. We just about to hear it

People don't appreciate someone's genius until they are dead. Bruno Mars is a living legend....let's treat him as such. All new love for Anderson .Paak up and coming legend for sure! Respect the grind people. Both these guys fought, struggled, and made sacrifices to do what they love for a living.

I lived in Hawaii for many years singing there. I was friends with Bruno's mother. I would watch his performance as Elvis when he was a youngster. I knew them he was destined for great and wonderful things in music! Love him!
That’s cool, are you still in contact with them (the family)
Bruno and his siblings posted a lot of videos and recordings of their mother (Bernadette) on Mother's Day and I was amazed at how beautiful her voice was. I had never seen or heard the videos before and WOW. Had you ever heard her sing live?

I agree. The Apple Music interviewer did a much better job interviewing Anderson and Bruno. Stickley music. No dumb shit.

Bruno is definitely not a cultural theft. His father was a musician so it makes sense why he’s such a powerhouse he grew up with that. Give this man his credit he’s good at what he does and it is what it is. Anderson Paak needs his flowers too! He is incredibly talented he just has not tapped into that mainstream vain like Bruno and I really hope this rockets his career by collaborating with Bruno because he deserves it!
Facts. Both theses 2 are gems that we need to appreciate while we have them here right now
Just because he doesn't have malicious intent that doesn't mean he's not a cultural appropriator. I think most of us can agree that Bruno Mars is talented, but he still benefits from black culture from being a non black poc.

Even Bruno Mars starts to doubt himself. But he knows that the only way out is moving forward. He is once again an inspiration.

Bruno employs an all black band and has written several hits for black artists without even bringing it up. Did you know he wrote F You by Cee-lo? You can't be a vulture if you enhance the quality of life of the community you are inspired by. Black people in general just like good music. It's these internet weirdos that try to make us look like we're that petty.
It's all white people telling black people what they should be offended by, like sit tf down
Factual statement
@@kaligisee nah, it was a black woman who got the conversation going in high gear. What you're saying is partially true but you gotta also acknowledge the black people that are just mad at everyone and pretend it's for the culture.
It’s not like there aren’t non-black soul artists who have done it well (and authentically).
Amy Winehouse, Dusty Springfield, Bee Gees come to mind.
I think it has more so to do with how creativity is cultivated in the Black American community. Personally, I think bruno is talented but I don’t see him as a ground breaking artist, a lot of his music don’t scream innovative, just rehashed samples that you can dance to. Just my opinion.
Bruno got a smokers voice when he talks but smooth as butter when he sings lol

Bootsy probably said “Y’all sound like silk.” Silk Sonic.
I can hear him saying it, "ooh y'all sound like silk baby!"
It’s makes a lot of sense when you think about it. The thing most people say when they first hear Leave The Door Open is how smooth it is. Smooth like silk 😂
I always that's Bruno was the silk and anderson was the sonic
ooooh! that's silky baybeeee!! - Bootsy
Powerful like a Sonic Boom, but somehow still Silky Smooth!!!!
I like what Bruno Mars said, "This music comes from love and if you can't hear that then I don't know what to tell ya." Speaking about the homage he pays his heroes, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Prince...
I'm 75 years old....From the moment I heard this Song it took me back.... I'm hooked ... looking forward to hearing more from these guys...
Me too! I'm 77, heard Leave the Door Open at the Grammy Awards, have been obsessed with it ever since -- I must play it 5 times a day (the Grammy version vs. the official release version).

I’m a youngster at 59! But, for sure, these two are just wonderful. Authentic old time soul, yet still sounding fresh and innovative. They both SINGGGGGGG! Love them
Well damn-🧍🏾♀️
I did my research on Bruno and he deserves all the success he's receiving. Shout out to Anderson . Paak! A lot of his music resonates with me and just feels good!
People stay coming for Bruno as if he hasn’t been paying homage, for years, to the great black artists who inspired him. You are going to make music like the ones who inspired you.
He’s “paying homage” but the artists he’s emulating never get credit whether it be awards or financial benefits
Talent is talent regardless of color. He's not holding any black artist back.
Yeah I don’t understand why people are trying to project this narrative that he’s a vulture?? All I see is someone who’s passionate about that era of music and he ALWAYS says who he’s inspired by. Even having someone like Bootsy Collins working with him shows that the OGs respect his passion for that era. It’s not like he’s going around saying he created this sound. I feel like people are just complaining to complain at this point
Tyler Handsome that's not his problem tho
@@tylerhandsome7344 uh...Michael Jackson got plenty of credit, is hailed the king of pop, and he has 13 Grammys, Babyface gets plenty of credit, and has 11 Grammys, James Brown gets credit and is called The Godfather of soul and has 3 Grammys, Stevie Wonder gets plenty of credit, considered one off the greats and has 25 Grammys. And there was FAR more crazy competition back in the days. These were the influences Bruno spoke of in this interview, and these guys got credit and awards. Even if those greats don’t get as much as they should, why is Bruno wrong for being influenced by them, making great music due to his influences, and constantly paying homage to who influenced him? Even black rappers now are getting way more credit and awards/money than those that came before them. The music is becoming way more mainstream. And what about all the Filipino artists who don’t get any spins in America? And you do know that plenty of the R&B classics we know and love by black artists were written and produced by even white guys right? Look up David Foster and Rod Temperton. These guys have written huge hits for Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Tony Braxton, Heatwave, Earth Wind and Fire, Brandy, Monica, Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child, and many more. Don’t forget that Bruno is doing his writing, producing, playing instruments, and has been doing so for many in the industry for years before we even knew him as an artist. He’s given to R&B, not just taken. People love his music, and he makes them happy, and he’s not a cultural appropriator trying to pass the music off as his own. What is he doing wrong? Are you saying he should stop making music, or should he only make Filipino music and Reggaeton?
This interview makes me feel like anderson paak is an angel sent down to bruno 😭
😂😂
Bruno’s work ethic is insane!!! He is a genius, and cares so much about his work and the final outcome. So proud of this duo
Bruno Mars is a singer, songwriter, dancer, multi instrumentalist, producer, director. He directs his own music videos including please me and wake up in the sky. He co-wrotes lighters with eminem, young, wild and free with wiz and snoop dog, mirrors with Lil wayne, all I ask with adele, one day by matisyhu. He cowrote and produced right round by florida, waving flag by k’naan and a lot more. He has 238 songs under his name that he wrote. He can sing and dance at the same time and hit the high notes. His live is sometimes better than his studio version. He is the artist’s favorite artist. You will know because other artist respect him as a musician. he deserve his flowers

I do NOT understand how Bruno is a "Culture Vulture" it was so heartbreaking to watch him have to respond to that question. He is literally pouring his heart and SOUL into what he does. I guess I could understand not wanting to "claim" him if he was an embarrassment, but he is legit making some of the BEST music and he still gets accused of being a culture thief???
I would stop addressing it if I were him. He's said all that needs to be said. He pays homage, gives acknowledgement and thanks to those who have inspired him. In a world if "hits," "likes," "followers," etc, some of those in the so-called "woke" culture are pushing certain narratives in order to create a viral moment that has no substance and makes no sense.
Not even a necessary question
If Cardi B is black how is Bruno not? Makes no sense…..they are Afro Latinos
I just don't understand what kind of music people expect him to make

The only thing artist of other backgrounds owe black artist / black culture is credit for creating the specific genera of music or cultural practice , and a check where appropriate. Bruno Mars is not a culture vulture because he gives credit to black artists all the time and works almost exclusive with black artists . He owes nothing other than to represent the culture well. He does that exceptionally well. The problem is black artist abandoning their own roots and cultural music to rap exclusively . Bruno has not only filled the gap that black artist left , he , the handful of neo soul artists and Anderson Paak are the only ones keeping R and B alive. I am glad these two got together. Bruno Mar's voice is legit perfection-he is truly truly gifted. They both are, but Bruno's vocals live- I mean, man, can't think of even one singer right now who could top it. Seriously. Their performance at the grammy's last night- it left my in silence just stunned by the talent. Can't remember the last time I felt that way.
This has the potetial to be fire!!! Bruno and anderson!!!
I'd be honored if some Bruno Mars fans who appreciate 80s classics would take a quick listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of PURPLE RAIN by Prince and WHEN I WAS YOUR MAN by Bruno on my YT channel in tribute to 2 all-time greats from different generations. Live acoustic with no enhancements. Peace & everybody stay safe.
Heard that new song 🔥🔥🔥🔥 please let this make executives understand people want "R&B and Soul" back.
Say it louder for those who in the back who need to hear this!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
At one point, mainstream music got so bad that i was convinced that their will to cancel good music definitely trumped their will to make money. There definitely has to be an agenda to kill genuine creativity. The people cant be that damn brainwashed to not throw some dollars on some hot shit like this
@@dn30001 That's a little dramatic lol, mainstream music is always the most watered down version of what is creative. They simplify it to make it more palatable so they can sell. It's not a conspiracy, just capitalism leaving its mark on art.
@@cl20999 i halfway agree with you.... too much evidence in hip hop, alone, over the years that proves otherwise
@@dn30001 That stuff makes money though. Most fans will say Black Thought is one of the best emcees of all time but the album plays/sales don't show that support, instead they listen to something more commercial. The average fan tends to look for the lowest common denominator and that's what blows up.
These guys are so talented but amazingly humble at the same time. I cannot wait for their album
Their mutual admiration is PURE LOVE!
These boys looking like they were moving Coke with Boston George back in the 80’s😂

Cause he’s not a cultural appropriator anyways don’t matter what he said he still would’ve been correct
Agreed. That was such a brilliant response.
