I had a label aproach me one day couple years ago. For context im a metal guitarist and singer, they wanted me for a boy band type group i put up both fingers and walked. From what i heard they are doing 6-7 figure digits and im living in a trailer park about to be evicted. I dont mind my decision. I was being true to myself and my music. If god deems it so ill find my success
Nova's been through a lot. After she got out of the system when she was 18, Def Jam got a hold of her. I'm so glad that Tom and Nova were able to save each other.
I noticed her verses are in the present tense and also very monotone. It has a very numb inflection, like she remembers but doesn't want to feel it. The prechorus is "you", like she is trying to separate herself but is still feeling the emotion... And then the chorus itself, she's fully in the emotion with all the music and the memories and insight. It's a very effective tool. She's amazing.
It was hard for her to get out. She's been very emotional talking about the meaning and how this song came to be. but you are close in your assessment . but she wants us to enjoy it and help support her as a independent artist now

Okay, so I got internet for the first time in a few years today. And the first thing I did was listen to Tom McDonald's new song Superman. The second thing I did was listen to nova rockefeller's new lost girls and the third thing I did was comment under this video to let you know I'll be at sunday game night!!!

I know how you feel im 44 and i lost my mom when I was 27 i still cant believe its been this long, and im only 4 years younger than she was when she died at the age of 48 then 4 years ago i lost my father so now at 44 all i have of my family of 4 is my little brother, no mom dad,grandma or grandpa, its hard youll always miss them but it gets easier to manage 😊😊
