Getting Creative with the Reason Rack in Logic Pro X

- In this video I want to show one way to use the Reason Rack as a "MIDI Controlled Effect" in Logic Pro X. The idea is to use MIDI notes to trigger various effect parameters.
To do this I'm using Kong, a classic drum machine build into Reason (and therefor the Rack plugin!) With this Instrument we're able to use the Gate Out CV message, which are being send as soon as a Drum Pad receives a MIDI note. If you're unfamiliar with CV, just think of it as MIDI CC's; signals which we can use to automate parameters.
Therefore, once we have one of these CV signals we can use it to control pretty much anything we want. The really neat thing about this is that we get a bit of a break from drawing automation. I don't know about you, but personally I'm getting pretty tired spending hours tweaking Filter Cutoff automation.
Awesome tip! Thanks.
Too cool-THANK YOU, JOR!!
I actually would like to give you 10 thumbs up :-). Geweldige video Jor! Triggering FX with notes has always been one of the functions I like very much, but converting notes to CC is difficult or at least tedious in many daws.
Greetings from London Jor. This was a great video...a game changer. Have you done any others? Gratitude and Respect!
Please do you know how to use one instance of reason for multi instruments for example for orchestra instead of opening 30 reason plugins
Can you show how to automate the reason rack in logic pro ? Because I can not get to work and it works perfect in Ableton Live
So I am getting an issue, when I want to automate devices in the rack plug in, they will not show up in the automation list in logic any help? It worked before, but now anytime I set up a new project, the reason rack will load, the devices will work, but I cannot automate them, very frustrating
Great tip, thanks for sharing!
Have you been able to do this with any other plugins or is Reason unique in this respect?
