This could have gone wrong in so many ways. Im glad youre okay Tony but not at all happy to realize after all these years youre still in danger of being beat framed even killed? For nothing? Cops that say “we don’t know” should be labeled as incompetent for their job and fired.
They always claimed there was a phone call and anonymous phone call. They will not tell you who made the call or that they even know who made the call. They will not alleged to any crime has been committed or is about to be committed. They cannot detain an individual while they look into something they have to have RAS to detain an individual they have to be able to articulate a crime that has been committed or is about to be committed in order to detain an individual this three times we are looking into it while you cannot detain someone while they look into trying to find a crime. They have to already know what the alleged crime is. Law-enforcement always wants to exert their power and control over an individual even innocent people by telling them they are detained, and they have to sit on the ground like a dog and they do not comply. They throw them to the ground taser them cuff them and then when they find out, they were innocent they want to say have a good day and expect you to just let it go and not have anything to say about it. They want you to be quiet they’ll tell you to relax, which makes people even more angry when they just violated and assaulted and then they wanna tell you to relax. even after they found out that this was not the individual they were looking for they’re alleging. He still guilty that he may have committed some crime at target which they wouldn’t tell him about until they were leaving. Then they make suggestion about not going back to target when he was never at target.

Society is done! To see someone I respect treated this way really brought this home for me. For law enforcement to expect you to sit on the dirty/filthy street curb (based on no clear evidence) is offensive. As a Californian, I am disgusted that this is standard policy and speaks to a certain mindset and implicit bias. Sadly, since the pandemic, I stopped grocery shopping in-store and have my purchases brought to my car or home delivered. I have never experienced what happen to you that day and as a fellow African American am pained to see you go though this at your age and time of life. Stay strong and keep up the good fight. 🙏

Get the incident number for that call. Do a public records request if they are unable to provide you the number. I would also do a public records request on their camera footage.
They shall get the person who make the call to identify the suspect.
