The Sail Barge Level has something in common with the Cloud City escape: Playing as Lando sucks because you try to attack and he keeps making out with Leia's hand instead.
That Endor level in my pre patched copy of LSW2 was definitely one of the most annoying stages I’ve played. Trying to time the log jumps right and hearing Chewbacca’s groans every 2 seconds made me feel indescribable anger
@@jlev1028 of course. It’s one of the first ds games I got, so for a little bit it was my only experience w the full OT before actually watching it. I remember debating w my friend on the ending of rotj when I said the ghosts were dancing too lol, love that game
@@bldontmatter5319 What Blueguygaming probably means is the revised version that was released at some point, US only, seemingly. You would have to explicitly buy the fixed version, assuming you even knew it existed. I didn't even know about it until recently.
I had never heard of you before these videos, but you're def one of my favorite UA-camrs out now! I'd def be interested in the Clone Wars/Force Awakens videos. Keep up the good content!
Out of all the iterations of LEGO Star Wars, my heart belongs to the 2005 original PC game (which, no lie, I just played today, 100%'d it in 6 hours or so!). Part of it being me growing up with the prequel trilogy. The original still holds up and shows how the developers improved the idea of a LEGO game over the years! Also, the original doesn't have those dumb flying levels where you have to use purple torpedos or bombs. Ugh, I hated those. All in all, it was so good to bring back the memories! As for the next videos, I would rather enjoy one video on the sequel trilogy and one on the clone wars, though the latter I just skipped for some reason. Keep up the good work, Flandrew!
Same! LEGO Star Wars from 2005 was my first LEGO game. I remember getting it for the PS2 and replaying it multiple times. I still have it, but also bought the PC version and remember literally doing the same thing as you (100%-ing it in 1 session) like 1 year ago lol. I am not a big fan of The Complete Saga version because of the altered levels (especially Gunship Cavalry) and the game having a weird stud pickup delay. As for LEGO Star Wars 2, I don't like it as much as the prequel one because of the levels being so long and sometimes being just tedious. I don't mind the vehicle levels as much, but they are not as fun as the ones from the previous game.
The reason The original trilogy in Skywalker saga has more content is because the game was originally meant to be a remake of JUST those films. The open world would be bigger due to less planets, and have more levels. I'm still satisfied with what we got though.
I remember playing the ds version and doing a trick where you would start free play, select a character but then back out and you would be that character. So I went to a space level done the trick and flew around the hub as a tie fighter. That and the fun coop battles it had
I got to say after recently just 100% completing the Skywalker Saga and the Complete Saga and you making a video for each episode has been amazing keep up the great work
Far and away, The Force Awakens’ Endor level is my favorite version of ROTJ. It might skip over a portion of events, but the actual level design is leagues better than what we’d later get in The Skywalker Saga. The bike chase in TSS in particular is such a tediously repetitive thing that I thought I was being punished for playing a LEGO game. As far as how to handle the sequels and spin-offs - I’m good with an individual video for each. It’s worth considering that LEGO TFA on a whole is wildly different from TSS, actually putting effort into its story and presentation, including the entire film cast reprising their roles. Even as someone who didn’t care for the film itself, it was a really solid game.
Yes please do the rest of the Lego star wars levels/games. You are seriously one of my favorite UA-camrs. Also for future video ideas, I would love for you to compare versions of the countless other Lego licensed games because there are a lot lol
The Sequel trilogy doesn’t exist in my eyes. It ends at Return of the Jedi. Even in Skywalker Saga you don’t have to play the sequel trilogy unless you want to 100% the game you can play just the prequel and original trilogy without missing out on anything important.
Something about the GBA version, on the Endor level, I seem to recall there being a 100% chance of a soft lock if you played the game on free play. The level would only take you into the shield bunker if you were playing in story mode and the parameters weren't met if you were in free play (or so my memories from 16 years ago tell me).
The Luke + Vader team up blew my mind as a kid. I kept wondering when I would finally unlock playing as Vader, and never thought I’d get to play as him in a story mission!
I'd certainly be down to see the rest of those covered. Something else you could do is compare the Disney Infinity versions of the Original Trilogy and Episode 7 stories to the movies, like how the entire Bespin and Jabba's Palace portions are removed.
yes!!! please do videos on the remaining movies and also the clone wars! and I know this is obscure but maybe a video on Star Wars trilogy for the gba? love all your content!!!
I'd been hoping you do a video on the Lego Clone Wars games! I've got good memories playing the console version with my brother until our Wii crashed during the big battles, and it was the first game I owned a handheld version of, so it was also the first time I realized the DS/3DS ports weren't as close to the console games as 12 year old me had originally assumed.
Yeh, I'm all for you doing a video on Lego episodes 7, 8, 9 and clone wars (or seasons 1 and 2 and like 1 ep of season 3 at least, kinda annoying they didn't add anything or make a 2nd CW Lego game around seasons 3-7). Love those movies / episodes
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE 2 MORE VIDEOS, also I would love it if you considered doing a series on all of the other Lego games like Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana jones etc
Clone Wars is always appreciated! LEGO Star Wars III is super underrated, so please make a video about it! It’ll be interesting since it’s based on two seasons of a TV show you may not be as familiar with, so I’m curious if you’ll watch the relevant episodes to prepare for it. Either way, keep up the great videos!
If the developers of the Skywalker Saga game really did prefer the OG trilogy over the prequels when it came the game's content, I wonder how they felt about the sequel trilogy. Still haven't played the game myself. I thought most of the old prequel haters were more accepting of them these days when comparing them to the sequel trilogy. Sure the prequels still have their various flaws (as does ROTJ when compared to ANH and ESB), but story-wise they turned out to be more creative than the next trilogy did with all its rehashing of the classic trilogy (and perhaps less controversial than The Last Jedi is now). At least that's what I think most Star Wars fans have agreed on these past few years. It's certainly my opinion.
11:01 Lol, TCS is actually much more broken than LSWI and LSWII. The level design in prequel levels is more refined, and it's generally better, but there are a lot of little things that broke when porting to the newer version of the engine (time crunch didn't help).
Tbh like most of the levels in the Skywalker Saga, they're not great or feel like an afterthought, and that goes for the entire game. I guess that's the downside of trying to make a massive game like that, the quality has to take a hit somewhere. I don't think the open world/ hub worlds are even good enough to warrant being the focus of the game either. So you just end up with a generally underwhelming game. The prequels in particular are mind bogglingly brief and the level selection is odd. Episode 1 arguably has ONE standard level for instance, and that's a boss fight. The rest are gimmicks/mini games. So like pretty much every Lego Star Wars game, I still think the originals are the best. It's not even nostalgia or anything, they're just better games. Pick up and play, simple and better designed for two players. I actually think the Lego Games need to dial it back a bit and go back to the pick up and play arcadey nature rather than trying to be huge massive open experiences.
Thank for your video ! About the potential SW7 video, you seem to be a bussy man, so don't lose your time making this one, don't worry we can handle this
A quick tip: let the video run for 1s before start with the voice. From time to time the brief loading of the video cuts directly into you speaking. At this point I already know you start with "If you remember.." but even so, Its a bit off puting...But great video anyway, keep it up.
I remember the DS version of LSII were especially buggy during the RotJ section. Jabba's Palace suffered from major slowdown, and the The Great Pit of Carkoon level would have background textures not load/glitch in such a way where parts of the level were just black.
I remember in the GBA version you could play as a baby rancor, but I can’t remember exactly how you unlocked it. I was a little disappointed when you couldn’t in the complete saga so I held out a little hope it would return in the skywalker saga. While that character didn’t come back I’m glad that there was that there was at least a section where you could play as one.
I would definitely be interested in all the remaining Lego Star Wars games. I would also be intrigued by a ranking, similar to the Harry Potter games, of the best Lego game for each Star Wars movie. I love your nostalgic game content!
My favourite one, apart from the superior Complete Saga for PC, has to be the NDS of Lego Star Wars II, but only of pure nostalgia. It's buggy as hell, but it has a lot of charm, fine puzzles, hilarious in-game cutscenes, a fine multi-player mode with bounty hunters and the best character editor of the entire series by far. Also it would be fine to make videos for The Clone Wars and the Sequel Trilogy.
I was just thinking about how in the original LSW1 during the duel with Count Dooku, he didn't have force lightning. He had magical blue sparkles to shoot at you. lol
I would be defiantly interested in seeing all the Lego Star Wars Sequel Trilogy game and Lego Star Wars The Clone Wars, I maybe a Sonic fan, but I'm also a fan of Star Wars.
Also, it's funny how the first Lego game for the GBA was obviously rushed out the door, and the second game managed to remedy those problems to make a solid port. The first DS port, however, was the one rushed out the door and it took its successor to remedy those issues.
11:48 I think they also had more time to work on the OT compared to the Prequels and Disney were probably breathing down their necks to work on the ST so they just rushed the Prequels through development.
