The level of knowledge coming from Yvan and Jason is insane 😊 Every professionel Detailer should listen to these kind of videos and really take it to heart 🙏 I have learned so much from Yvan through the years🙏 So thank you for these very informative videos 😊 Shout out to Nick as well for all the great questions and he for sure also has a lot of experience and knowledge😊 Best regards Rune
Got to meet jason earlier this week! I have to say the tips and tricks he gave me seriously improved my skills. I feel faster and the final product is just outstanding. Not only all that but jason was such an amazing teacher! The way he explained things made so much sense compared to what i have learned previously. He is also very kind and fun to talk to! So excited to watch all these and learn more!
I did a wash iron/clay towel decontamination paint prep & 1 step polish + sealant today and ran into this video! I learned so much more and appreciate the info. Today was the first time I used a machine to polish and it came out great! Keep up the work and breakdowns we all learning 💯
Great video guys Jason is one of a kind, super talented and very humble. I couldn’t imagine 100+ hours on one car for paint correction.. literally craftsmanship to its fullest.
This video is a pleasure to watch and this is my first time seeing Jason speak. I am no where near Jason’s worse day but I think differently too and I really like his explanations. I will always listen to Yvan and Jason talk about paint and polishing because first I will learn at a high level and second because they are fun to listen to. Your shop is already looking less greasy and the logos look great. Thank you for a wonderful video and lots of food for thought.
So glad I discovered you guys. Just ordered everything, excited to try. Seems like you are what Adams Polishes used to be, but likely better products. Simple, easy to use, perfectly explained videos. Nothing left to the imagination. Just simple explanations. Keep your stuff in stock, provide good customer service if there is an issue (creates loyalty), no limits for this brand.
Awesome video, very cool guest and seems like a great guy. Definitely inspirational about navigating and overcoming challenges that you have no control over. How would one deal with a botched chip repair, where the touch-up paint is kind of globbed on and everywhere?
Holy Cow, Yes! Came to comments to see if anyone else was hearing the club bumping in the background!? I keep taking my headphones off to see who’s beating the block down. 😂 All podcasts and videos need to at least be normalized. But surely normal people can listen and enjoy without only hearing the white/background noise like nails on a chalkboard! 😂
I want to see if Ivan will tell Jason Kilmer don't smell the paint like he does everybody else.. Nobody gets their face closer to the paint, than Jason Kilmer
@diydetailofficial well, his friend that travels with him does the same thing . Unless Ivan's paying your salary it's not up to him to tell you how to position yourself to polish
Would love a deep dive on how the other variables can change the final result even on the same pad/polish. Machine speed, pressure, arm speed, amount of polish, how damp the pad is. Really dig into how they relate to defect removal and finishing.
First Jason you are awesome brother love you positively. With polishing how much is to much how often and frequently should or could you polish your car..
Great video!! Lets talk about that floor though! Is this the same area, of the new shop, that you filmed the other videos in? Either way, is it polished? Or epoxy?
Question: My truck has ceramic coating from Simonize that was put on after I got from factory at dealership and has lifetime guarantee. So is there any special wash advice I should be following? Special cleaners I should be using, etc.? It's a 2020 Silverado 2500HD and is my baby so hopeful I haven't been doing anything to damage ceramic coating
Awesome! Always learning from your podcasts. Keep up the good work! Which rotator polisher would Jason recommend for a small time detailer? Corded or cordless?
Explain how to not get holograms with a rotary. I get them anywhere i use my 3" drill pad on things like the black trim on b pillars. Is it the cut polish that does it and do i need to follow up with a polish that specializes in removing holograms. Currently i take a DA to remove them.
You get holograms from pressure, tilted pads, and machine speed. I rotary on speed 3, zero pressure , one inch per second and overlap 50%. Keep the pad flat. No tilt. You’ll always get some faint hologram from the compound step in most paint finishes. Use a soft pad and a finish polish and you can finish with the rotary hologram free. Try finishing with the rotary. You should have no holograms if you’re technique is on point
Also use less compound. I only “prime” wool and Microfiber pads. Foam pads require one to two dots and no more. Less compound results in less haze and holograms
Unless ypu purchase an Acura NSX, latest generation. Where you have the option where you can get a PMC edition that has options to up to 14 coats of paint!! Ridiculous!!
4:30 You have to give yourself grace, but you also have to hammer down and keep on going. The wisest words from this whole interview
Thank you.

Our pleasure!

Such a great video, thank you guys.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love Jason!
Lots to love.
Great interview. Great people.
Thank you.
Can’t wait for a training in the new garage!
Thank you.
I'm not sure Yvan has priced out an engine replacement lately. Lol great wisdom imparted in this podcast!
And he's from canada, it would even be more expensive ,that didn't make any sense.
Actually I have , other than a high performance, or exotic a long block is not as expensive as a quality paint job.
Great talk! This was awesome!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much..this was amazing
You're so welcome!

Awesome video, very cool guest and seems like a great guy. Definitely inspirational about navigating and overcoming challenges that you have no control over. How would one deal with a botched chip repair, where the touch-up paint is kind of globbed on and everywhere?
Remove with a Stoddard solvent, or sand and polish.
The floor looks amazing! What did you use? A sealant?
Simply polished.
Love this! If ya ever need an audio editor to filter out background noise and bring up speech, or whatever ya like lemme know !
Thank you.

I want to see if Ivan will tell Jason Kilmer don't smell the paint like he does everybody else.. Nobody gets their face closer to the paint, than Jason Kilmer
Jason isn’t doing it to smell, he needs to do that to see , he has a visual impairment.
@diydetailofficial well, his friend that travels with him does the same thing . Unless Ivan's paying your salary it's not up to him to tell you how to position yourself to polish
Thanks awesome video👍🏾
Thanks for watching!

Stay tuned
First Jason you are awesome brother love you positively. With polishing how much is to much how often and frequently should or could you polish your car..
Jason is phenomenal! The less you polish the longer it will last.
Great video!! Lets talk about that floor though! Is this the same area, of the new shop, that you filmed the other videos in? Either way, is it polished? Or epoxy?
Polished

Just a basic wash
I wanna know if Jason uses the lake country pad cleaning system. And what line of polishes would he consider the best overall
Jason is continually testing every product on the market.
I have been considering playing with orange peel removal and was considering the denham method. How do you guys feel about that process?
Denim pads create excessive heat.,
So do you tilt the machine or not? I thought you guys said to keep the rotary as flat as possible?
By tilting Jason just means exercising a little more pressure on one side than the other, the face of the pad doesn’t leave the surface.
Awesome! Always learning from your podcasts. Keep up the good work!
Which rotator polisher would Jason recommend for a small time detailer? Corded or cordless?
He only uses cordless for touch ups.
I got a quick question after doing my ceramic coating is there any benefits finishing it with a ceramic gloss,?
No
What is the thinnest clearcoat you will work on, mils and micros?
It’s hard to know the thickness of just the clear.
If someone were to start with a rotary what do you look for to say that is enough I should stop or keep going there is still plenty to work with?
Do the least polishing possible.
Explain how to not get holograms with a rotary. I get them anywhere i use my 3" drill pad on things like the black trim on b pillars. Is it the cut polish that does it and do i need to follow up with a polish that specializes in removing holograms. Currently i take a DA to remove them.
Pad, pressure and speed all come into play. What pad, polish, speed and pressure are you using.
You get holograms from pressure, tilted pads, and machine speed.

Less compound results in less haze and holograms
Fun times!
Thank you.
Yvan was not happy that day, later he found out it was due to not wearing red shoes!! Lol, looking at my red shoes while writing this
lol
Great podcast!! Shame Yvan’s mic was so low 😢
Technical difficulties, but the information was too good not to share
Worlds best polisher - Obviously haven't been introduced to me!
Tell us more
Ready
Thank you.
How does Jason wash his car!? Probably wants the safest merhods & products..
Rinseless
I know you’re pushing your products but I’d like to know his favorite polishes before yours was available.
We will let him answer that, I know he used Griots for some time.
Sandman 🤙
The one and only
Awesome
Thank you.
Do you still plan on releasing your polishers fairly soon
Mid March
Where did you all get them awesome stools at ?
They are from Vyper Chairs
What is c6 ceramic ?
C6 Ceramics is Yvan’s new line of professional coatings.
@@diydetailofficial what is the difference between ones have now
Rotary is superior for cutting
That depends on pad and machine
Looks like a 512TR.
Correct
Ivan needs a little louder Mike.
We had technical issues unfortunately

Sirs is pure cotton any good for pairing with rubbing compound and liquid wax? 🙏🫡
Yes
