About the boats thing, the map creator has always said the map was intended to be played with boats, but that it is not up to him to implement it. Thanks for the vid :)
It really does feel as if it was made for boats. I'd be somewhat surprised if there is no plan implement them as part of the map as standard. Not that it matters really, as the Red Falcon Water Craft Mod seems to work well on the community servers. Thanks for watching !
Am I right in assuming that the bear ghillie can get wet at this Carrier location? It looked like you swam with it on. Great videos, they've helped me so much.
I did, expecting to have to really rush through this last section before the cold killed me. I'm not sure if the rest of the gear I had on also had and impact, but it wasn't that bad getting it wet. I didn't even have to get a fire going. I swam to the carrier (albeit for the shortest time possible), raided the loot room of it's treasures and jumped straight into the water, got in my boat and headed out of the cold. Because you can get in a fast boat and this is the last section, you can kind of chance it a bit and just speed outta there fast. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a way to do it without getting wet. The map maker is a stickler for detail. But once I had the bear gillie and whatever other warm gear I had on and as long as the swim is short, it didn't seem to matter much. Although I still would advise avoiding getting the gillie wet at the start of your arctic area journey if at all possible. My plan if it was really bad was to loot and scoot and either get a fire going or get to the boat and speed out of the icy biome. Long answer, I know. But hope that helps. The mission is all kinds of stupid. U sacrifice ur soul bt the gods just give it back so u can sacrifice it again and again and again so its not realy a sacrifice is it... U have to get a legendary hammer once owned by a god (it also seems like Thor has spare hammers), not to summon lightning that cudv powered the machine that locks the smoke monster away bt to pick away at ice so its actualy an ice pick AND ALL WITH THAT... selling of souls, epic crypts and temple adventures, mythical hammer/hammersss.... all for a gun... that kills people... in a game where any gun does the same. Dont get me wrong, Its my favourite map, and I love that its has a mission and many other secrets and adventures. The mission is just not worth it.
@Jonty161 and of course, nobody has to do it if they don't want to. I don't think it claims and links to thor explicitly. He could have just used a key card instead of the hammer. But the hammer does fit better with the norse theme. You also no longer sacrifice to the gods this new update, from what I remember (made these vids a while ago now). You smoke monster teleport in. And, there is a massive change in the mission and end game yet to come from the map maker. So maybe it will make more sense then. Or maybe it won't. Either way, it's a tough challenge on no base, full pop sevrers and is loads of fun to do with friends, which is all that really matters. It's about the journey, not the destination. Much like life, really

I just did the temple, still blood sacrifice, the smoke monster is another way in with more control I guess. to teleport in from any location and at any time of day. The mission has changed quite abit. Im on his discord so Im gna mention this to him and hope he hears me and doesnt get offended lol. Namalsk mission makes sense... u go to Lantia, the M4 and plate carrier are bonuses bt the main objective is the vega serum. makes u invisible to Zombies for 40mins. The Deerisle mission cudv had sumthing like that... A vile with fountain of youth water maybe... making u godlike, no need to drink or eat, vitals just keep going up until u get shot dead dead... or u urself is as strong as a plate carrier. John McClane cudv made it like that drink Thor and captain America had in age of Ultron... just saying... the guns are just a bonus bt the end prize shud match the lore of the map.
@Jonty161 you seem to be full of ideas. Way to go man! Go tell the current king of dayz map making your ideas. Like I've said, end game isn't done. Or better still, make your own map. I'd be the among the first to play it if it were any good! Also, unless you're playing a modded server with the hammer in one piece I've yet to see anyone get to the area where the second part of the hammer via the blood sacrifice. I've actually been waiting for someone to really see if that's possible that way round. Let me know if you manage it.
@Jonty161 I've done the mission many times in many iterations/uldates. I've done parts of it with random people and completed it in different versions, but never claim any superior skills. You seem really angry it's not what you want it to be man. Which is your right, of course. I just don't see why you wanna rant on a comment section of a guide video that helps people...? All comments help me out anyway, so that's cool. But it ain't my map man. And the end game isn't finished. So I think head over to his discord and talk to his admin team.....

Usually Zero, Spaggies or Karma Krew, as I prefer the vanilla (or close to) feel.
