CAS plays an important role at UWC Maastricht. With its holistic approach, it is designed to strengthen and extend students’ personal and interpersonal learning. CAS is organized around the three strands of creativity, activity and service.
Creativity: exploring and extending ideas leading to an original or interpretive product or performance. Writing, computer programming or organizing a musical are some examples.
Activity: Physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle. Ranging from football, basketball, cycling or fitness to running and much more.
Service: Collaborative and reciprocal engagement with the community in response to an authentic need. From elderly homes to refugee centers, from animal farms to nature reserves: we encourage our students to contribute at least three hours a week to the Maastricht community and therefore we collaborate with over 100 organizations in the region!
CAS offers students opportunities to express their passions, personalities and perspectives. It complements a challenging academic programme, providing opportunities for self-determination, collaboration, accomplishment and enjoyment.
