It's funny how this series came out, introduced Jodie to the global audience and very few people cared. Then Killing Eve came out and Jodie took over the world.
For me it was exactly the opposite. Watched this first and then wanted to see what else she was in... I hope she doesn't get typecast in one sort of role, that schtick can wear thin real fast.
lol Lady Stark becoming the mom of Elizabeth, the marriage of her and Henry Tudor ending the War of the Roses, the model behind the plot of GoT? Coincidence?
Yeah, she hides her real (Liverpool) accent so well. And she changes the tone of her voice,as you said, so well. Same in "Killing Eve", when she plays Villanelle. She's really an amazing actress!
I have not read the novel yet but am a huge fan of Philippa Gregory and "The White Queen" miniseries. Very excited for the premiere and I plan on diving into the "Cousins War" books soon. The cast is awesome!
@Theresa Nardino I am aware Gregory takes liberties with her writings. Nevertheless, I enjoy her prose. Thanks for giving your opinion but I still prefer to make my own of the book when I read it.
@@nightslasher9384 All royal families are effed up - especially back in those days when they literally married for power and influence. There was also some serious inbreeding too since quite a few royal families married their cousin's and some even their first-blood relatives. Elizabeth of York reportedly had an affair with Richard III (also implied in this series) who was her uncle(!). Look at any royal families today and tell me their relationships aren't effed up...
I look forward to seeing the White Princess but Lady of the Rivers is the one I'd love to see made into series. Jaquetta of Luxembourg was around for a lot of important events.
Meh, it's a bit too Hollywood warped for my liking. It's really a double edged sword all this interest in historical dramatizations because on one end it can really get people interested in studying and reading about history but for those whom it doesn't they walk away believing this "dramatization" was how history really went down.
To be honest, nobody actually knows how history truly went down. Yeah, we have had stories passed down and whatever, but stories get warped as they're passed down. You tell one person a story, and as it's passed from one person to the next it changes. For all you know some of the things that we know from our history books are wrong. We didn't live during those times therefore we cannot truly know.
WHAT YOU SHOULD WATCH IN ORDER: The White Queen ( story based on King Edward of York &Queen Elizabeth Woodvile) The White Princess ( story based on Queen Elizabeth of York married to King Henry VII. ( Daughter of King Edward & Queen Elizabeth) The Tudors ( story based on King Henry VIII. ( Son of King Henry VII & Queen Elizabeth of york.) Reign ( Mostly based on Queen Mary of Scots but looks at the Story of Queen Elizabeth. ( Daughter of King Henry VIII & Anne Boleyn)
Really disappointed with how many historical inaccuracies there are just in the trailer. Why do historical dramas always have to fabricate things? Goodness knows these time periods were sensational enough on their own.
I completely agree Allison. I have never given one iota of credit to Philippa Gregory considering she refuses to separate her dramatized claims from historical fact and because she is so cocky when called out on it. She is the reason I don't touch historical fiction with a ten foot pole, I have and always will read from credible historians in the academic, not fiction, field; more often than not they read just as entertaining as any novel would anyhow.
Understand the series is based on Philippa Gregory's books which are notorious for historical inaccuracies. This is more what I call pop history which is basically soap opera style historical depictions. This is strictly for entertainment but anything that generates interest in a particular era and gets people reading real historical nonfiction I'm all for it.
"Pop history" very good description, Dante. You're right too in that it does often get people into reading real history though for the ones who just watch the show and never look more into it, that is a bit of a travesty.
This show is made by diffirent producers and channel with probably lesser budget compering to 2013 bbc show (also they gotta made Elizabeth Woodville in her 50's)
I loved the white queen, I'm excited to see how they pick up the show but yet I'm soo disappointed in the fact that they are not showing her brother that her mother put in hidding cause he was heir to the throne.
It always interested me that if all Henry needed to secure the throne was to marry Elizabeth, why didn’t she and the Yorks refuse? Would the Tudors have been defeated and the York’s restored?
Richard the III had Elizabeth and all her sisters declared illegitimate-after the death of his brother, King Edward IV-and taken the crown for himself, so he needed to be overthrown and killed in battle. Plus the Princes all went "missing" in the tower and only boys could take the throne back then
Well guys this series will be doing the same storyline as Game of thrones will so be sure to beware spoilers... Afterall G.R.R.M. said himself that British history was one of his most used inspirations... And war between red and white roses is bassically Clash of kings...
Trust me. I read the book that the show is based on. If you want to watch or read series that is like Game of Thrones, read The Accursed Kings series, GRRM directly said it was what Game of Thrones inspired by. Even calling it, "the original Game of Thrones".
i know. and i'm pissed. but it's only one season so i'm going to ignore philippa gregory's and emma frost bullshit writing and focus on that snuggle in the last episode.
Another movie where somehow people can't separate the social values and our modern way of progression and thinking with previous time periods. Nobody knows if she had sex with her Uncle. Firstly, she was very fertile like all the women in her family. She did not fall pregnant. Or, Richard lll could not father anymore children because he only had the one son, or his wife Anne Neville became infertile. Nobody knows that for sure. There are no accounts at all that King Henry Vll treated Elizabeth in such a manner. Nobody will know for sure about that either. What we do know is that when she died, he mourned her death greatly and did no remarry again, which was unusual for a King. There are so many inaccuracies and it is mostly guess work because even accounts by people who witnessed events are often biased.
Guys, this show isn´t racist. It´s based on historical fiction novels by Phillippa Gregory about the two rivaling houses The Yorks and the Lancaster This is The war of the Roses: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wars_of_the_Roses It has nothing to do with modern age or racism.
Oh fuck off 1-people DO examine the context on which a story is put in 2-everyone knows that this is about the york house. 3 stop treating social justice as if it must come from a place of stupidity and ignorance for everyone
After watching this, makes ya wish George Washington went over to England after the Revolutionary War and subjugated the whole disaster of a country then and there.
Jesus, this series is going to be so disappointing. Not only the costumes, hairstyles and headpieces are completely out of place, but we have the classic cliché of the sweet and incredibly dumb princess whose highest ideal is to get married to someone she loves - because that's what women do and only wish for! Elizabeth of York didn't look like that, didn't dress like that, she wasn't even the badass woman they are so desperately trying to portay in this series; she married Henry and had to give him a son, before her husband crowned her queen of England. How can a person of that kind be actually a threat to a king?
So how is this show? The White Queen, The White Princess, and the Spanish Princess. I know its basically the female version of Tudors but is it decent? Or over the top cringy “I’m a woman hear me roar!”?
+Layla Aaron I'm not sure you know what "irony" is. It would be ironic if she was known as the White Princess - due to the white York rose of her family - but was actually black. If we ever get an ironic version of this, I nominate Beyonce to play Elizabeth of York.
Hearing Michelle Fairly saying "Vengeance is coming" and yet in her voice all i can hear is "Winter is coming"
It was said by essie davis who played dowager queen Elizabeth Woodville
It's funny how this series came out, introduced Jodie to the global audience and very few people cared. Then Killing Eve came out and Jodie took over the world.
For me it was exactly the opposite. Watched this first and then wanted to see what else she was in... I hope she doesn't get typecast in one sort of role, that schtick can wear thin real fast.
She was in a few things of course in the U.K. before KE. Dr Foster very large part and v successful show .
lol Lady Stark becoming the mom of Elizabeth, the marriage of her and Henry Tudor ending the War of the Roses, the model behind the plot of GoT? Coincidence?
Well Lady Stark will be the mom of Henry. Lady Crane will be the mom of Elizabeth.
Am I the only one who noticed Elizabeth's voice in the show is different then how she actually talks? It's crazy how she changes it lol
Yeah, she hides her real (Liverpool) accent so well. And she changes the tone of her voice,as you said, so well. Same in "Killing Eve", when she plays Villanelle. She's really an amazing actress!
How jodies voice changes when acting as lizzy is remarkable
Crane hook with 11 narrow ear plane and left ear a grave stone
With a double jesus leg block
Joide's voice is so cute
Honestly, between the White Queen, the White Princess and the Spanish Princess, this was the fucking best

So this is about King Henry VIII parents right?
Yes :)
Interesting thanks
So that’s why he had a fucked up relationship.

The name of the song is Two Steps from Hell - Heart of Courage
Fernando Do Nascimento thank you so much
I'm so watching this, It reminds me of Reign before the show was ruined.
Cassie Blake same
Cassie, that show was always ruined and utter crap
Reign was all wrong from the beginning
fyedoravna it wasn’t meant to be right: just a show on the CW
Here for Jodie
I love all the series from Starz !!!!! I need more!
So excited for this!!! :D
thats looks absolutely fantastic
I look forward to seeing the White Princess but Lady of the Rivers is the one I'd love to see made into series. Jaquetta of Luxembourg was around for a lot of important events.

Sage Noelle it's because it's based on PG's bs novel... I hope they don't adapt it close to the book bc that book is horrible
AllisonSwan That's what I figured. I've read the book and enjoyed parts of it but this trailer implies they exaggerated the novel even further.
I completely agree Allison. I have never given one iota of credit to Philippa Gregory considering she refuses to separate her dramatized claims from historical fact and because she is so cocky when called out on it. JODIE COMER! Villanelle in KILLING EVE!
I wonder why they decided to change all the actors from The White Queen?
It's been 4 years already and the old actors are busy
Has it been four years? Bloody hell, I didn't think it had been that long lol
Imbhind7proxies I was wondering the same thing
This show is made by diffirent producers and channel with probably lesser budget compering to 2013 bbc show (also they gotta made Elizabeth Woodville in her 50's)
Also the white queen wasn't a hit in the uk like it was in the states
Villanelle 😍
I can't wait for this any longer!!
Is this what I'm going to have to watch once I finish Black Sails?
J'zargo From Elsweyr I think I never saw a trailer I was less interested in, and I LOVE Black Sails!..
J'zargo From Elsweyr J'ZARGO!!
Is that a good show, what is it about?
Is the the tv show The Tudors connected to this show
i am soooo happy about this!!! :D
What's the music that plays at the very beginning and very end of this clip?
What's the name of the song in the end?
Wait, is Elizabeth's mother played by Phryne from Miss Fisher's murder mysteries??????
Yep. Essie Davis.
Wait, the executive producer's name is Emma Frost aka the White Queen from Marvel comics? And the show is called White Princess.......wow, just wow.
" I will fight them from within my marriage, and they won't even know it"
Not even the guys in armor who are holding your tent?
I loved the white queen, I'm excited to see how they pick up the show but yet I'm soo disappointed in the fact that they are not showing her brother that her mother put in hidding cause he was heir to the throne.
It's playing in Canada on free movie channels !! Started today !!
feels like game of thrones with catelyn stark voice
Does someone knows what is the name of the music in the bacground?
Two Steps from Hell - Heart of Courage
Can some one please tell me the name of the music during this trailer?
Two Steps from Hell - Heart of Courage

everyone has changed! i really liked the original cast from The White Queen. i wonder why they weren't asked back?

Good series, me like
The girl from Thirteen!! 🙆🏻
Jodie Comer.
as long as it doesn't follow a plot point from the book (henry raping her), i'll probably watch it.
kenna163 unfortunately it happened
i know. and i'm pissed. but it's only one season so i'm going to ignore philippa gregory's and emma frost bullshit writing and focus on that snuggle in the last episode.
kenna163 I want them to fall in love, but I can't forget that rape scene! damn it Henry
kenna163 I'm watching each episode just hating and loving the king as if that's possible ahah
philippa gregory has rape in all of her books and are mostly in shock value. and she's not a real historian. she has a degree in writing, not history.
He United yorks and Lancasters not yorks and Tudor
Catlyn omg I missed u
I wish they had the old actress for Lizzie
Freya from Skins was really awesome as Elizabeth of York...
Can't wait this shit lit
I hope its as good as The White Queen.
i miss spartacus

holy fuck it's Catelyn Stark
oooo ok, ok... will give it ago

CATELYN STARK
WHY IS HER VOICE SO MUCH HIGHER THAN VILLANELLES
I miss Anne and Richard
Blair Williams got new career ?
Fear the blonds
It's the women.
I loved the white queen, I wish they would've kept the same actors :/
hype
This casting is so fucking off, I just can't
I know the leads are not attractive and charismatic enough!
Really? Cause I thought they did a great job, and the show was really good.
Lizzie should be fat I mean come on she was Henry viii’s ma
@@sofisa11they ‘re more attractive than the ones in white queen imo.

Yeah...nah
Game of Thrones wannabe.
More like this is what Game of Thrones wants to be. (The Wars of the Roses.)
GoT was partially inspired by The War of The Roses.
