So many 'photographers' literally try to sell prints of their photos, and the worst is that some family member or friend does the worst thing possible, and buys one, which you can unfortunately see on the site where you go and order the print, e.g. "Stephanie Richmond bought *seascape fun* by Ana Richmond...6 months ago"

Jones Crimson no, going to art school is costly and most artists never make that money back. People post their art in communities in the hopes that fellow artists can give them advise on how to better their art
However, there are people like Katie who will just fish for complements, it happens in every community not just the art community
Agreed, Art Schools are awful. Which is why I recommended an Undergraduate School, which is a two year college, and not a Fine Arts Academy, which is a four year College. You would really only benefit from a Masters Degree in Fine Arts if you intended to Teach Art instead of Make Art.
It was a nice touch that the anime drawings were on sketch paper that didn't even have the edges taken off
Katie really shines playing the cookoo ones. Katie resonates craziness. Never change Katie. You are an art, immitating life.
Katie did great as this character, she played the part of a cliche pompous, flamboyant artist without feeling unoriginal. I feel a lot of college humor skits are too aware of themselves but this one was so much more natural.

Having making art as an active hobby actually does mean you're an artist. Not a good one, but still an artist.
I think we’re all too eager to label ourselves, to the point that such designations become territories.
Many of us make art - importantly, not just visual art - and alongside professional or expert artists, should freely state “I make art” instead of being subject to valuations about who is/isn’t an artist.
Do you exist? You are an artist. Now being a profitable artist is much different!
With the first few pieces I was like "hey, that's actually better than some of the stuff by freelance artists I know..." And then came the anime.

I'm low key upset on a spiritual level when I see people charging for that level of anime art.
The thing is there is nothing wrong with being a beginner at it either, however you should build your skill set before selling.
Charging for work you do is never wrong. The unrealistic thing is to expect to actually get comissions

Yo videos like this are the reasons I call myself trash and not an artist, art is hard and most artists honestly feel self-conscious about their stuff.
what kind of artist is she? to be a real artist you need to hate yourself, hate your work, deflect all compliments, and the most common compliment you use is "wow your work is so much better than mine!"

Discouraging and insulting artists will only ever make them quit. Dislikes are not constructive criticism like the attempts Raph made in this video. No matter how bad an artist is, unless the issue with their art is a *moral* one easily dropped and not done again (like if it's racist or something), bitching about it or leaving dislikes won't make them improve.

I don't understand all the comments talking about how this criticizes the art community. It's just a joke and an exaggeration of something, it's not bashing anyone who pursues art as a career. And I think it highlights some of the people who don't take art seriously at all and only put out 'okay' works to get attention, disregarding criticism and only listening to people who suck up to them, that stuff happens to and it's a play on people like THAT rather than on art itself, for that, I think it was a pretty good job.
