A mate bought one of those a few years ago in LA, because it was cheap and RHD. He had it shipped to Australia and although he insisted it be loaded properly, the people loading it put it on top in the container ona specially built stand. There was boat underneath. The frame wasn't very well thought out and the car fell off the stand. The boat pushed the engine up into the bonnet (!) .He had a long fight to get insurance but the amount they settled on wasn't enough to cover the damage so it was placed into storage where it remains. A shame really because they have great presence including great power.
Nice find Al! The black is a pain to keep clean, but they look SO good. The only thing I noticed was a slight lifter tick at startup...do you have that on most of your SZ chassis cars? I had that on my Conti and always wondered if it was "normal" since it always went away.
Yep, there's a slight lifter tick on start up until the oil pressure builds up. I'l change the oil when I get it to the shop and see if it still does that. It may have thin oil in it
Yep, you can hear the lifters, but as the car was sitting at the auction for months, it's expected. They did quite down after the engine ran for a few and it does have great oil pressure. I'll provide an update for it shortly.

That's unfortunate, the sheet metal should be obtainable as it makes no difference if RHD or LHD. Let me know if you need me to go hunting for you

Everything is a win if your expectations are low enough 😁 Do you plan to keep it or flip it?
Indeed. I'm not much of a flipper. I prefer dismantling over selling
Sounds like you got an engine lubrication problem
