Norwegians are well educated. The average salary is over $100K a year. Apartments and homes are expensive. The average rent for a nice apartment in town near workplaces is about $3,500 a month sometimes more. Travel to Norway is not cheap. Lodgings in the city are expensive; as are food and drinks. However, Norway is incredibly beautiful.
I was happily listening along till the narrator said “GENTLE waves of the North Atlantic” and continued on to “MAGICAL waters of the Barents Sea!” Whoa, that’s a WHOPPER of bull.
Oh after reading some of the below comments....the oil and gas industry wealth in Norway played a big part...plus go view Dubai...see how sand sea and the oil and gas industry built DUBAI....$$$$$...
Many people from Norway and Ireland traveled to the USA - the reason was that these people lived out in the country in areas with little contact with cities and larger towns. Everyone heard about America. They would have been much better off traveling to the cities in Norway, which were developing rapidly - and Norway has never actually been poor. There has never been a food shortage, we had a large industrial enterprise - but for the immigrants we also had the world's second largest fleet of ships - which, among other things, went to America with raw materials and other things from Europe. Boats went to the USA from almost every Norwegian city. The same perhaps applies today - Norwegians are the people who travel the most in the world - probably because we have money and an enormous social security - Should we have a life crisis - we get money for rent, electricity insurance, food and mobile phones, schooling or courses and help looking for jobs or getting your finances in order. Norway today has the world's largest savings fund of $1.5 trillion or $240,000 per inhabitant and otherwise a very good economy.
@@paulwilshire401That statement is incorrect. Norway was among the wealthiest nations in Europe even before the discovery of oil. The country’s prosperity was primarily driven by thriving shipbuilding and fishing industries.
Nice pics. Would have been a much smoother and interesting if the producer would have spent any time on the speaking audio. Automation is not always the way to go, this is a case that proves that.
These are the least known parts of Norway. There is not much that goes wrong here - we have a rich and good democratic state - We have free schools, universities and hospitals and a number of other schemes. We never become homeless, without electricity, insurance, food or without a mobile phone because the country is fully digitized so a phone is a must - because we don't use money either - just a card and phone.
Transparency or not - it is a reason companies create "Holding" companies and either do not show all their wealth or just choose to do business in another country.
Such clickbait- “Dark Side…”, and you show a scantily-clad woman in the title frame. Actually, this is a great educational travelogue about Norway, but why would you try to appeal to people’s baser instincts?!
