Old O&K lift in tesco, with photo of motor room! (oh, and a couple of new Schindler lifts)

- There are two lifts in this tesco, the LHS lift has had some DDA additions like LED display, lower COP and floor announcements. Other than that, it is original and was installed back in the 70s(?).
The lift on the right is completely original, and I filmed this in a previous video:

Took us ages to get out of the car park as I lost the car park ticket. Then Chay 'found' the ticket in his pocket!! hehe!
@leethomas84 Yes you did! I was going to put an annotation pointing that out. Strange really, Don't forget this lift is from the 70s (I just about remember the 'new' bridge linking newlands car park to tesco when I was about 5 or 6!?), so may be the control gear was not as widely available as it is now. Maybe Stannah provided this (or put a badge on the box later on more like!)

He is 14 now, this was 8 years ago so he must have been 6.
@leethomas84 Did you notice that the LH lift is the only one that meets DDA regulations? Also, they have always had individual call buttons, so you can call the DDA lift seperately. I'm presuming that there are no long term plans for the building so they haven't spent the money purposely. If it is demolished, the building site will be even more of an eye-sore!!

Used to work for Tesco and this was the last store I worked in and man does it look and feel old? No natural lighting. What year was this built?

I remember this place being built when I was very young! It must have been late 70s or very early 80s.
That was 10 years ago! lol. I would recommend contacting the store manager. It's her/his store so they would give the authority.

Nope! Unfortunately everything at this tesco store was replaced. I have a photo of the new motor room. The Sainsbury's building you probably know already was demolished.

ok, it's done. Haven't logged into that account for ages. Look at my albums - I've added the old photos as well. The two last ones are the new ones and were taken from a gap in the hatch (I didn't get in).
Thanks! They really are quite different (and smaller). It would have been nice to have got hold of those motors and make something unusual, like a coffee table with them. If they were rewound they would go on for many more years. I wonder if the retro fan heater is still up there...

Nice elevators, but there is something damage indicator up here like sticky-tape on it. Why weren't fix-it up clearly??? Is not look good isn't. See 3:20 sec. Anyway, excellent video, is pretty really cute is your kid! ^_^
