- Francis is lowering the hammer on the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) but it may not be for reasons you think. In this Part 1, I explain WHY Francis needs to crush the TLM.
The Eucharist “ minister “ is a perfect example of Undermining the role of the priest as well as receiving our Lord. The folks in the pews sat back and let this happen.
There's a NO Mass I attend when I can't make it to my TLM due to holiday travel, and they have three Eucharistic ministers.
They only get 27 parishioners at the mass. How do they need _four people_ (priest included) to hand out the Eucharist?
My priest takes care of all 180+ of us all by himself, every week, without breaking a sweat.
At our Novus Ordo parish - they call each choir member a music minister - I laugh every time I hear that !
If "schismatic" trads would just become schismatic Anglicans then maybe Francis would come celebrate with them as he allowed for Anglicans in Rome.

I generally agree with the basic premise of where you're going. I think much of the reason for the current attack on tradition stems from the fact that the Novus Ordo is inexorably dying out. I've heard and read various sources saying about 4 out of 5 N.O. young people lose their faith and leave the Church forever by their mid twenties. And these N.O. families aren't having any more children than their non-Catholic neighbors to begin with. So the modern Vatican II parishes are just going to keep withering away over time. At some point, like the parishes, even the N.O. dioceses will become financially insupportable. The traditionalist parishes though will continue to thrive and grow. Most of their children, maybe 4 out of 5, keep the faith and teach it to their children. And they have children, in most cases, plenty of them. So they can afford to lose more than the Novus Ordo parishes and still grow and flourish. It's only a matter of time, things continuing on their current trajectory, the N.O. is going to die out and tradition will be all that's left by default. I believe most of their churches are already largely aging baby-boomers and former hippies and the like who can't accept that the ethos of the '60's has failed to produce the promised fruits. These people can't seem to accept that the reforms have been a failure. It will be interesting one day to see the local N.O. bishop selling everything to the point where he's offering his N.O. in someone's home the way trads have been doing for decades. That would be quite the turn of events.
That may well be in the West, but not in Africa or Asia, where the majority of coverts happen to be. The vast number of these converts being baptized into the Novus Ordo Church. Even wiith the decline of Church attendace in the West, the Novus Ordo, unfortunately make up the greater portionof Catholics.

Man, I thank God every day that I was initiated right into the Traditional Mass. Catechized by my priest, Baptized and Confirmed at a 6 hour Easter Vigil with the Litany of the Saints chanted in Latin, the whole bit. What a time! Nobody will ever take that away from me. I am blessed, I don't deserve it but I am truly blessed.

'Initiated right' being the key words here. I was baptised by a family friend who left the priesthood shortly after; as for my Godparents, they were both too young and did not want to be there, or so they tell me. My First Communion was a 70s hippy affair with guitars and loud chanting; even though I was only 9 I could see how informal the occasion was and felt terribly sad and disappointed. Amid the chanting coming out of the loudspeakers I'd glance at Jesus on the cross behind me and fight back the tears. Fast forward a few years: the priest that was preparing me for Confirmation was involved in covering up an abuse case in my secondary school and I just had enough... I've been a lapsed Catholic ever since. I am now in my mid 50s and wondering how to fix this mess 🤦🏻♀️
Yeah, my husband was a lapsed Catholic as well, for all the same reasons you stated. He came back when I converted and now he's deeply frustrated because he feels he's being denied sacred communion with God. Again. And for the absolute worst reasons.
I feel like I'm not sure what I'm going to do when I'm forced to attend a Novus Ordo, but at least I had a life in which I was never aware of the Sacred before. Its only being taken from me once. It's being taken from cradle Catholics twice, and that's tragic.

Read Bishop Schneider's book - he as part of Ecclesia Dei investigated the SSPX. Also look into the communications between the society and Vatican.

People say that Bergoglio is a Peronist only because Juan Peron is the only other Argentine they’ve ever heard of by name, with the possible exception of a soccer player or two. The first thing I think of when I think of Bergoglio is that he’s an evil man, and Peron was not in a position to lose men’s souls.
Plenty of people have said Bergoglio Is a Peronist: Gavin Ashendon, Mark Lambert, Henry Sire, and even Taylor Marshall, I think.
It has been said it would take a full century to implement Vatican II, but from 1968/70 to Benedict XVI (2005-2013) it wasn't even halfway when the TLM began to rise again, and even many NO adherents believe it was either poorly implemented, in need of reform, or not valid.
His heart is with the oppressed and poor. He experienced the betrayal of his friends. One was torturer and killed and the other was never the same. He regretted his own silence against the corruption of the Roman Catholic Church in Argentina and hence his conversion to Jesus Christ and not to an institution which was corrupt. It was so with Martin Luther and will be so until we turn to our Redeemer and Saviour and look at the world through the eyes of God.

EXACTLY! I'm not an 'official' Catholic but I find myself praying often for the Church. The Catholic Church used to be the foremost destroyer of satanic forces. The Church isn't perfect but neither was King David and I feel the spirit steering me towards the Catholic Church and becoming a Catholic. It is the only one that is after God's own heart despite its mistakes. I pray traditional Catholics rise up and return to their traditions.

The Vetus Ordo is too firmly attached and identified with the Traditional teachings of the Church. Teachings that Modernists have been attempting to eliminate for more than a century. The notion that adherents to the Traditional Mass are causing division is a red herring . Notice that the survey of bishops on this question has never been revealed.
Not many I fear. It's a truism that people that "succeed" and are elevated in a particular system are beholden to that system. So the likelihood that the bishops and the cardinals, (btw, 75% of current cardinals have been appointed by Francis) will attack what Francis is next to nil.

I agree, they needed a new Mass to remove the notion of sacrifice, which was Christ's work on the cross that made the graces we receive from Mass possible. The focus is now on man's desires and importance, and not God.

I think you're exactly right about the political motivations and the global agenda. It's about time someone said what you are saying. Incidentally, Bergoglio is not the first pope who has been a 'political animal.' For many centuries the Church essentially controlled most of the monarchs in the west through the promise of eternal life if they cooperated coupled with the threat of damnation if they did not comply with the Vatican's wishes. Ever since the Catholic Church lost most of its temporal power in 1870, when it was stripped of its control over the "papal states", the Vatican has kept a wetted finger in the air to see which way the sociopolitical winds were blowing so they could forge alliances with whichever governments appeared to be most able to further the Church's objective of recovering its lost influence. In the early part of the 20th Century the Church opposed communism but supported Hitler's rise to power and signed a pact with Mussolini. After WWII they cozied up to the USA. Then in the 1980s they began to support communism over the objections and directions of John Paul II. Now they have joined forces with the globalist elites who have infiltrated nearly all the structures of power & influence (business, education, government, and more) in the west.
Pope John Paul Ii allowed the extraordinary form of the Mass to continue, in large part because of the SSPX. How many decades later are we essentially in the same position as then with the SSPX? In every century in which the Mass has been modified in particulars, the prior changes were left to history rather than continuing to run a parallel. Anyone can point fingers and name names and make charges, but history would indicate that it would not be likely that there woudl be a perpetual dual order of the Mass. And fwiw, I was born in 1946, and have had to suffer Mass abuses in both pre and post V2 times.
That is an interesting take. I've never heard of that but it makes sense. In Isaiah, when the Israelites angered Our Lord, his punishment; "As for my people, their oppressors have stripped them, and women have ruled over them." Sounds familiar today.

Since the 1960s, at least in America, more and more the government has assumed the roles that were formerly served by the Catholic Church. That they have performed these tasks abhorrently is not an accident. President Reagan spoke of how ill equipped the government is to act in an ethical capacity, and provide for the social welfare of its citizenry. No greater example of this is the most recent, and it is exemplified in how our own homeless citizens are ignored in favor of rolling out the red carpet for an entire new demographic of dependent citizens, who are courted precisely for their dependency. The government desires to be able to force certain behaviors on people by exercising a lever to either reward or punish a person for their behavior in exchange for access to necessities that ordinary Americans would normally work for. This new class of neo-citizen will merely arrive at the first of the month for their government stipend, which will be calculated on their travel habits, and dietary choices. Their social media presence will be constantly monitored to assess the quantity of sustenance they are deemed fit to receive that month, as will their choice of friends, and whether they maintain undesirable family connections or not. In short, our Western governments have chosen to elect a new constituency, that is more in line with their globalist power initiatives, and which inverts the power dynamic of serving their leaders interests, rather than the other way round.

His very election was invalid as it violated the conclave rules through the St Galen group meeting ahead of time and discussing how to get him elected. I’m not a Sedevacantist, I met Benedict in person in NYC for world youth day and I was so impressed by his piety and general grace. Like you could feel the Holy Spirit guiding him. I didn’t meet Jorge but I saw him in person before he did anything and I had a real bad feeling, admittedly i wasn’t a fan from the start. But he has no right to deny the fruits of the faith from the lay faithful.

Yall are in my prayers. I converted to Catholicism over 30 years ago. Two years ago, I started down the path of Eastern Orthodoxy. I was brought into the Orthodox Church this past Lazarus Saturday. Very grateful. That being said, I know your battle and pray that the Holy Spirit protect you all.

(Vatican II Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, No. 51) The scriptural readings provided in the 1570 Tridentine Mass included only 1 percent of the OldTestament and 17 percent of the New Testament, and had only a one year cycle of readings-with most of the Gospel readings taken from the Gospel of Matthew. In the Mass restored by the 2nd Vatican Council, the scripture readings include 13 percent of the Old Testament and 71 percent of the New Testament.
Yes,. I know. They should have kept it the way it was. Mass is not a Bible study. That's what protestants do at their "service". The readings are carefully selected to provoke prayer and proper worship in the context of the sacrifice. Ironically (or perhaps not), the few scripture readings that did not make the New Mass but were cut from the TLM focus on the sacrifice and reverence from Holy Eucharist.

Why is it that since this novel Novus Ordo rupture with the 2000 year Tradition only 30% of Catholics believe in the Real Presence? @@brianbacon5149 TLM is not a 2000 year Tradition. It's called Tridentine because it was set in place at the Council of Trent. Before Trent, the Mass was celebrated in a variety of ways.
The Mass was first celebrated in Aramaic since all of the first Christians were Jews. Then for several centuries it was celebrated in Greek as Christianity spread throughout the empire. Then Pope Damasus I required the Mass to be celebrated in Latin precisely because it was the language of the people - the vernacular - the same reason he had St. Jerome translate the Scriptures into Latin. Mass in the vernacular is the oldest Tradition.
