I have an eerily similar story to yours. I live in the Philippines and the Jabra Evolve caught my eye from the hype about it being a close to optimum solution for making calls. Longer story abbreviated, I needed a solution providing me with good microphone input quality primarily and the noise cancellation feature would be a bonus for me. It floors me that you paid $500. I only got stung for $215 buying through Amazon plus the cost of shipping it around the world. The microphone on mine did not work at all. I did ALL of the same things you did and got to the point of digging in to it online to discover that the rotating boom mic is a [beyond crappy] design that comes down to one tiny small guage wire that's being torqued every time the mic is rotated up and down. The additional fact that the bluetooth pairing solution using the Jabra Link USB dongle is also an unstable POS solution. You absolutely were cheated and so was I. Lesson learned. As an alternative, I went in on the Poly Lens (used to be Plantronics) Poly VFree 60+ earbuds and so far, so good.
yes, I have similar problems. When in meetings they can still my background noise. I've been using this 2 years, and it shows crack leather already as well
I bought the Evolve2 75 to use when working from home. It's been replaced once already and now I'm getting complaints again about call quality again. The previous Evolve 75 had hardware issues with wire from the boom mic gradually breaking at the point where it connects to the circuit board inside the housing. The Evolve2 75 apparently uses a ribbon cable that is prone to the same issues. A 500 USD headset that doesn't last six months in an office environment, is not worth the money.
I think it's criminal to create a product like Jabra Evolve 2 75 that IMHO is soo bad that it was almost designed to break. The foam on the ear bad is disintegrating and that is with very little use. I will post a follow up video on this junk product it's soo bad that it is kind of funny now.
I have the evolve 75 abd after 4 years the mic stop working. Regarding the background noise I don't know if all are aware that the background nosie cancellation works with the USB dongle and not with Bluetooth.
the Jabra evolve 2 75 was wireless only and even the normal microphone didn't work and kept on cutting my voice in and out. I felt like they robbed me!
Thank you for your video. I have same issues with the Jabra Evolve2 65 flex, which is amusing since it is their newest headphone of the evole2 series. Microphone issue in MS Teams calls but no all the time, it has microphone shortages. I was thinking on purchasing this model the evolve2 75 but not anymore thanks to your review.
I wish i had seen this video earlier.... I am stuck with a lemon. please do update if you ever came across any fix for this voice fading in and out problem.
I'm not sure. Mine always sounds like I'm talking underwater or something. Close to $500 for this is unacceptable! I was expecting to be able to talk with a blender in the background. I can't even talk in a quiet room without my voice cutting in and out.
Mine, boom mic stopped working within 5 months. And it started become unreliable then.. Then recently everyone started complain they can't hear in many meeting .within 1 year it became useless
No, I simply am a consumer looking to buy a gadget to solve a problem and bought a very over hyped over price defective product. I am looking for other headsets that have an effective noise cancelling microphone will post a video about it when I find one.
I have similar issue. When starting the teams call, I was often told that my voice was hardly heard. I had to up and down the boom mic several time then it's working. Sometimes I cannot hear other's voice while they can hear me. It is so unreliable. I'm looking for other headset from other company. I should've seen your post earlier. no more Jabra in my life.
Same experience, Microphone acts crazy and does not work 90% of the times.... Jabra replaced it once 3 months back and the replacement one also has same problem after 3 months, tried on a new laptop, same issue. Looks to be a problem with sensor positioning inside the headset... let me know if you found any solution
Sorry to see that you had the same issue with this headset. I haven't found a solution and decided to get a wired analog microphone with an audio interface and it sounds amazing for 1/4 the price.
I ended up buying a wired headset to avoid connection and battery issues. I purchased the Yeahlink Uh37 and the noise reduction on the mic works well. I am not sponsored by them I just want to put out non hyped up information so people don't burn their hard earned money buying overpriced junk like the Jabra Evolve 2 75.
This device often has malfunction of the microphone because of a broken ribbon cable due to poor design. It's possible to switch to the headset microphone but this suspends ANC und has more background noise. Defenitly not recommend this product.
Yeah I've heard that from several sources as well, but they should have recalled this junk instead of marketing this as one of the best wireless microphone with ANC.
Thank you so much for this video. It exactly covers all the frustrating and embarrassing moments I had with my Evolve2 75 headset. The microphone turned out to be a piece of cr*p few months after the purchase. NEVER BUY JABRA PRODUCTS to all those even remotely considering it.... especially the Evolve2 75! Such a lame as* product
I'm considering buying these... So, your main issue with this headset was the noise cancellation not working to your expectations? I do agree that for $500 US that these things should live up to all your expectations... But for me, the noise cancellation is maybe not super important, I am not working from a very noisy place. I am more interested in comfort, battery life, and range. This headset does seem to be rated pretty highly, just trying to figure out if it's mostly marketing hype or if it really is a good headset that maybe just didnt meet your exact use case.
Most of the glowing review videos have an affiliate link to buy this poor performing overpriced headset. Just want to throw it out there. The noise cancellation on the microphone is hype. As for the range and battery life when compared to other wireless headsets it does a decent job. But my wxm4 does a better job for a much lower price point in my opinion. If you still want to buy one after hearing all this I'll be willing to sell you mine as it is collecting dust.
If you don't care about the microphone I would go with the Sony WHXM4. It's great value for money. The audio is amazing, it's comfortable, it can connect to multiple devices at the same time, it has decent battery life and range. But the best feature of all for me is the active noise cancellation. It helps cut out a lot of the background noise so I can focus on work or music. I would recommend the black over white as the white one are more prone to getting stains. If you sleep on your back, you can even use it to help you fall asleep if you live in a noisy environment like I do. This is just my unsponsored opinion. Paying higher for headphones doesn't always translate to better products. Just look at Hollywood movies today with 200 - 300 million production budgets vs movies from the 80's 90s with lower budgets and better acting. Just my humble opinion. I hope this helps you feel free to hit me up if you got any questions.
One more thing I forgot to mention that was not important to me when I first bought it cause I thought it was gimmicky but I later found very useful is that it has an input audio jack so you can plug it into 3.5 audio cable and use it without batteries or you can turn it on to activate the noise cancellation feature very useful as I find many BT headsets to have inferior audio quality compared to wired. Also I find that BT often have connection issues randomly from keyboards, mouse, and headsets. With this 3.5mm audio jack you have the best of both worlds. No power, higher quality audio jacked in with active noise cancellation or wireless bt connection that is portable.
I had the first 75, the best i ever had. Sadly the mic broke. I just received the 75 evolve2 at job. The worst i ever had. Heavier, mic issues, noise cancelling in open office so loud that my customers were hear it. Its a downgrade for me
The Jabra evolve 2 75 sucks. It's like a BMW with no engine. Looks good, but the mic is the worst mic I ever purchased can't even record without cutting my voice off every few seconds. How can a company sell junk like this and get away with it?
Firmware version 1.18 ruined them. Downgrade to 1.17 and they are good and stable. I have zero complaints since I did that. Update: Version 1.7.4 of the headset firmware works it seems. The current 1.8.13 causes microphone related issues for me.

Yeah this head set is junk, even the foam pads on the headphone started to just melt with no use. I really think that this was designed to not work.

Hello, thanks for commenting anizox. I never found a fix for it in fact it got worse over time. I'll make another update video
Why do the headphones work just fine when your watching a video or a stream but then when you enter a videogame it just sounds terrible and cloudy?

Sounds like bad qulity control on Jabra side either on hardware or software side. I would just return them to the seller as a faulty device
I wish I could but I can't. So I basically use it as really overpriced headphones. I will never buy another Jabra product again.
Now I’m hesitant to purchase this. I’ll try to check the evo 2 65
I would be careful with reviews that have an affiliate link to the headphones they are reviewing.
Try BlueParrott. The earlier models.
Thanks. I'll give it a try.
