@@virtualmartini I know it’s anecdotal, and a lot of those guys went on to do great things. Degrees, families, but at the time the trips didn’t encourage thought provoking discussions seen here. It was rather surface level. Perhaps looking back at them later on helps, but I still think you’ll not be able to process it as well as compared to when you’re older.

I’m proud of Matt for being so honest with himself and his self reflection and shane for listening so intently and having empathy at every turn. I’ve had similar trips and it really does make you feel like you did something wrong and you feel so alone and Shane is being very kind about that and it sounds like his brother was too that an important feeling to overcome especially with the help of other people and you’d never believe until you’re in that place how hard it is to find somebody to help you in that way. I mean it’s not impossible there are many good people in most of our lives but it’s interesting how it seems like they’re never around in those moments and maybe that says something about the company we keep and maybe people are like vices that we don’t realize we’re using. I definitely had that realization about the kids I hung out with in highschool. They weren’t bad people but they didn’t have my best interest in mind and I’m going to make sure my son knows the difference when he gets to that age but it’s very important

Same dream but I thought my dad hated me because he was a corrections officer I just got home from the marines I thought I spent a life time being restarted because I took a 14 grams of shrooms.
