My dream:
Take it to Neofolk to make modern understandable. While I've always understood I couldn't do the things or translate the movements to my own body of modern dancers, I've never felt that artform to be comparable to say, ballet. However this music video does really translate the "something" that wants to be found, not exactly, not perhaps, what the artist themselves want to be seen, but what is to be interpreted and enjoyed. There is more than meets the eye in this work, yet I already think it is a strong piece of art. Thank you and have a blessed 2024!
fyi, the video is a Butoh dance performance by Imre Thormann from 2006, unrelated to Death In Rome.Thormann's own website has more information about the history of the dance form.

Was the dance performed specifically for the video?
no, it's the holiest coincidence that ever happened to us. We happened to run this performance at the same time as our demo of a Chemical Brothers piece and it's as if the two always belong together. When you see this for the first time, a shiver runs down your spine, it's as if God is speaking directly to you.

The dance was performed by Imre Thormann in 2006. Thormann's own website has more information and background, look for "Butoh".

@@DeathInRome Yes, I saw that :-) I wanted to make it more explicit because some people apparently hadn't noticed. I hadn't noticed either the first time I watched the video because I dropped in half-way, and thought the interlacing was a stylistic choice :P
