I'm so smart! I traded some pomelos with persimmons picked from other's trees. Pomelos are ripe in early autumn. One can smell the refreshing fragrance by just passing by the pomelo trees. Pomelos can be preserved for a long time. As a result, it's a common fruit available from early autumn to Spring Festival. I made some snacks with pomelos this time. Do try the pomelo soybean sauce and stir-fried rice with pomelos.

Your videos bring me home, being the daughter of a farmer where I spent my childhood roaming in the fields, bringing fruits and vegetables from there and often foraging, these videos have such nostalgia to me, brings me memories I had forgotten away. The ingredients, dishes, the farms and everything, it makes me want to once again get these ingredients and make all those foods- specially the pomelo candy my mother used to make for the family when we were kids. Thank you Dianxi sister for helping me remember all of this and creating such beautiful content.

Pomelo is one of my favorite fruits. Im so happy its become more readily available in the states. Its so refreshing. Just.enough tartness to it. And honestly a whole one keeps me full for breakfast and lunch

In Vietnam we grow a lot of pomelos but I don't think we can make that many dishes. Thanks for your sharing.

I’m just learning that I need to make sure the food I feed my 82 year old parents is more tender than I used to cook it. They also say, “I’ll never finish all that.” My Dad says of large food portions, “I remember when this amount would have been just a snack for me.”

I genuinely appreciate seeing cooking that utilizes all parts of the plant/animal. Following a recipe is one thing, but this is true culture. There is a seasonal ebb and flow that traditional cooking follows in all cultures. People learned to use what they had, so they used everything and wasted little. It would be nice if we could all go back to living that way. We've become far too removed from the source of our food.
