@@DookieDodger9953 exactly. People don’t understand how wrestling works. Punk went out and did his job. Make Darby look good and got people talking about him. Similar to what angle did for cena years ago. Excuse me, didn't Bryan choose to leave? Is it like, if anyone leaves WWE does that mean its a bad company? Bryan wants AEW because of course its a new company with new stars and Bryan always liked professional wrestling more. You are so indoctrinated with this "wrestler leaves WWE, WWE sucks" narrative. @@averagedusty Heres my 2 cents on why hes so good. Is he the best guy in the ring, no i wouldnt say so i dont think he ever was the best but he was good. As with everything in wrestling though its the character that makes it gold or not and i think CM Punk is an amazing character backed up by (and imo is a requirement for a great character) top quality skills on the microphone. I mean the Rock and Stone Cold were probably worse wrestlers then Punk and there were far better wreslters in the WWF at the time they were bringing the house down but it was the characters (and mic skills) of The Rock and Stone Cold which made them my favorites and had they stayed as the kinda boring Ringmaster and Rocky Maivia they wouldnt have been the stars they were. Edit - I should add that I include in ring charisma in with character.
I've been a wrestling fan for 35 years im old and there is just something on a whole other level right now with aew the stars are aligned right now for them the time is right and it's just great to see the love and joy coming coming out in so many the passion for pro wrestling is here
I don't think I have ever seen a post-PPV shoot interview......actually multiple shoot interviews by the talent for this ppv. These are freaking great!. I just hope the ppv viewership numbers were up there. I think AEW is really a very strong promotion and I hope it is covering its costs. It's an exciting promotion.
Punk worked nice, tight and stiff. They called a cool match. Probably got a little bit tired but he worked quarter of an hour under hot-lights for the first time in over seven years, that match was everything it needed to be, it's not like he's got the hyperactive energy for Pepsi Twists anymore but he's still got it.
I think it's the way it's suposednto be. I love punk but i dont think it should all revolve around him. Otherwise he'd become the same thing that he hated in the wwe.
After the match, the entire arena was chanting Darby's name. That's what a veteran does, to push young talent and make them look good for they are the future. While on the other hand, you have eldertaker and oldberg. (EDIT: Kindly read my reply to @Alyssa Leggett before passing judgement. 🙏)
@@butwhyalyssa No it isn't meant as a disrespect for Undertaker, he is a legend hands down. It is meant actually for Vince McMahon. Who is relying on stars way past their prime, like Undertaker and Goldberg, to still pull off ppvs. And we all know their match was so botched up, Taker almost lost his neck. While that, WWE chooses to ignore young talent and waste them, like Malkai Black and Ruby Soho who came over to AEW.
Taker is very well respected. Even though I agree he did wrestle a little bit too long, but his retirement match was great. Goldberg on the other hand man god damn. The man is dangerous in the ring and not in a good way. It was great to have him back for survivor series but Jesus, just retire.
You can tell Punk is not used to receiving the level of appreciation he is getting from Tony. And it's sincere from Tony. Everyone likes to feel appreciation wherever they work, that's one reason Punk is so happy.
I think AEW will keep growing audience wise, because look at Toni hes always got a smile like a little kid meeting his favorite wrestlers. And him allowing the wrestlers to do their own promos and not be scripted makes it feel so much more real which WWE has been missing since the end of the attitude era.
The off-handed comment about finding a tag partner really stood out to me. I don't recall Punk having a meaningful tag run, and in the company with the best tag scene in the world he could do something really new and special for his career. A Darby x Punk team would be SICK.
Darby is so about building his own image and being himself it would be pointless to team him with punk who he always gets compared too don't think he would tag ever purposely with anyone but sting
For me, Punk wears the shadow of his WWE career on his back. It’s with him everywhere he goes. Metaphorically it’s like this dark cloud always raining above him. It’s like he can’t avoid not referencing his time in the wwe without frowning or he can’t help but make these subtle yet cynical comments about not being happy with where he was before. I feel like Vince really drained him, bled him dry mentally and emotionally. Having said that I’m happy for his return and I’m intrigued to see what he does in AEW. His return to the wrestling world and his first match in seven years feels cathartic for himself and his fans. Fair play.
A lot of CM Punk fans, myself included, found out about Punk through WWE, I started liking him in 2008, and his time in WWE is what got him as big as he is today. This is mostly to his credit and talent, but also for WWE giving him the chance to prove it (though they mishandled him at times).
He'll start to shed that shadow in time now that he's in a place that is positive and makes him both happy and excited to do what he loves. WWE beat him down and took his joy away and now AEW will bring that back to him and then some. I'm happy for him.
He doesn't like what Vince did to him when he was at the company but he really really despises what they did to him during and after they booted him. It's fair.
Yeah, you can tell there's still this burden on his back that he's slowly learning to let go of. I believe it will take timeb before that jaded troll is gone for good.

The fact that Tony Khan is from Illinois, Pro Wrestling tees is located in Chicago, now the most iconic wrestler from Chicago...AEW is a Chicago made brand

Seeing cm punk legitimately happy and clearly passionate about wrestling again just makes me so happy
On of the best pro wrestling ppv’s I’ve ever watched. I been reluctant to watch AEW… Not anymore! Im a fan! Excellent Pro Wrestling and not your predictable outcomes like in WWE. Excellent show!
That guy trying to rate Punk’s match was so cringe 🤦🏽♂️
🤦
I love cm punk!!!!
That guy, in the post-media scrum, couldn't be (Dave) Meltzer : he rates matches from 5-7 stars only.
@Versatile Wolf ?
He definitely blocked him on twitter when he got home
I love the energy that this promotion is bringing. They might not compete with WWE monetarily but this is as good or better than any pro wrestling in the world!
Thank you AEW for making me love wrestling again!!
It's so good to see him enjoying himself. And his insights will boost the company and the locker room. Somewhere Paul Heyman is going... I tought this guy everything about what makes this business tick....
DUDE CAN YOU IMAGINE PAUL HEYMAN JOIN AEW, HE CAN BE THE HEAD WRITER FOR THEM. JUST THINK ABOUT IT...🤔😏😊😁
Excuse me, didn't Bryan choose to leave? Is it like, if anyone leaves WWE does that mean its a bad company? Bryan wants AEW because of course its a new company with new stars and Bryan always liked professional wrestling more. You are so indoctrinated with this "wrestler leaves WWE, WWE sucks" narrative. Get outside your basement, Jimmy.
I was watching in 1996 when the formation of the nWo was happening, I'm a huge huge nWo fan, but I agree with Punk this is bigger than the nWo
The parallel of Terry Funk coming to ECW to lend his experience to new blood is phenomenal.
And Punk was that New Blood! Well remembered.
Was it the best match of the night,by far no. BUT! AEW restored my Fandom in wrestling and Punk first match told a story and it made me smile to see him in a ring. I'm not a big fan of his but I can respect him. Welcome back Punk!
It told the story of an overhyped wrestler. Great ppv otherwise. And it wasn't a terrible match but I've never seen in punk what others do I guess.
@@averagedusty stay salty
Wow this arby Allen guy sucks. This cm punk guy can’t fight at all. The worst ufc fighter tickled punk in the octagon.. yet Darby allin got beat up here by cm punk like it was the hardest fight of his lifetime.. lol what a joke!!!
@@trevorbilly4565 I think you miss the entire point of pro wrestling lol.
I've been a wrestling fan for 35 years im old and there is just something on a whole other level right now with aew the stars are aligned right now for them the time is right and it's just great to see the love and joy coming coming out in so many the passion for pro wrestling is here
AEW has made wrestling fun again I'm really loving what they have been doing lately
Thank you for these Denise, you the real MVP
Punk worked nice, tight and stiff. They called a cool match. Probably got a little bit tired but he worked quarter of an hour under hot-lights for the first time in over seven years, that match was everything it needed to be, it's not like he's got the hyperactive energy for Pepsi Twists anymore but he's still got it.
Just loved the in ring storytelling between punk and Darby Allin
I love how Dave was like "Yeah I saw Terry Funk when he was at his peak" lol.
Great job, Denise! Keep doing you.
Tony is the Professor off Money Heist lol.
Man every time someone mentions Brodie Lee, TK gets hit hard.
His match has been over shadowed by Bryan and Cole but that’s a good thing. Let him get a few matches under his belt then go for a title
I think steel cage stole the show
@@jacobunofficial1146 defo one of the best matches in recent years
Personally I agree, needs to get the rust off.
I think it's the way it's suposednto be. I love punk but i dont think it should all revolve around him. Otherwise he'd become the same thing that he hated in the wwe.
Not at all...these two are overrated
Seeing the aew logo behind all these guys like punk Danielson and cole is so surreal what a time to be a wrestling fan
After the match, the entire arena was chanting Darby's name. That's what a veteran does, to push young talent and make them look good for they are the future.
While on the other hand, you have eldertaker and oldberg.
(EDIT: Kindly read my reply to @Alyssa Leggett before passing judgement. 🙏)
Hey let's not disrespect Taker. I'm pretty confident he isn't the one who was wanting to beat young talent.
Goldberg is a different story.
Undertaker won his last title in 2009
Don't you dare Disrespect Undertaker 😤 but fook Oldberg tho
Taker is very well respected. Even though I agree he did wrestle a little bit too long, but his retirement match was great. Goldberg on the other hand man god damn. The man is dangerous in the ring and not in a good way. It was great to have him back for survivor series but Jesus, just retire.
As a long time wrestling fan this is one of the greatest moments for wrestling...
Tony is the Punk whisperer , he knows how to keep him sweet is make him feel important and needed
LMFAO
Punk is so happy...
I still can't believe it.
His mind is going to be so benefitial for AEW.
You can tell Punk is not used to receiving the level of appreciation he is getting from Tony. And it's sincere from Tony. Everyone likes to feel appreciation wherever they work, that's one reason Punk is so happy.
AEW is the best thing happening in wrestling right now. No question.
He's talked about teaming up with Bryan many times now... but Darby would be cool too
Darby is so about building his own image and being himself it would be pointless to team him with punk who he always gets compared too don't think he would tag ever purposely with anyone but sting
Best in the world in the best UA-cam channel in the world
For me, Punk wears the shadow of his WWE career on his back.
Fair play.
He already mentioned he knows he can’t really speak on his career without speaking abt wwe
Tony Khan is so humble.
Punk look really happy here...its like he is in front of the christmas present...ready for unboxing one by one
Was just watching Tony’s face and reactions to everything the entire time 🤣🤣🤣
I really wanna see CM Punk Vs. Ricky Starks for the FTW title. Give it a great prestigious run!
Genius. I agree , dont let Punk get the main title for a while and let him add Value to that Ftw title. I MEAN FTW title!!
That actually would be dope & great booking‼️
Punk vs the machine and punk the machine is underrated
That would be super dope!!!
Cm Punk still got it he hasnt missed a beat at AEW All Out PPV after defeating Darby Allin wit a GTS this shit is fun again Cm Punk said your damnn right thanks Cm Punk for coming back to wrestling lol 😂.
Tony called him Mr Punk lol
This show was lit from beginning to end.. ! All matches were great. And they actually wrestled and never talked half the show like some companies do.
Or a bunch of stupid ads.
I think either way it was still a great match I like CM Punk's New Gear ring gear it was just awesome to watch him wrestle
I've been a long time fan since I was 5 and now I'm 38 years old and this company makes me feel like young again because My older brother and I remembers when wrestling changed when Hall showed up on Nitro and then Nash showing up then of course Hogan was the 3rd man in the nWo, So I'm so happy that AEW is making that happen with the surprises again and making wrestling what it was back then.
The fact that Tony Khan is from Illinois, Pro Wrestling tees is located in Chicago, now the most iconic wrestler from Chicago...AEW is a Chicago made brand
Love the aura Tony Khan gives. He's greatful for all the talent that took a chance and signed with him and the talent benefits from it too. If I were a wrestler, I'd prefer to work in AEW over anywhere else
Denise this vid is trending at number 9 in the UK! Conratulations!
Cm punk tagging with Sting gives me goosebumps
Punk: I told Bryan good promo.
Me: No!! That was a great promo!!!
Looking forward to seeing Punk build himself up even higher in AEW.
I know I say it a lot, but thanks AEW for rekindling my love for pro-wrestling.
happiness. that is something to cherish. i am in love with AEW. lesssgoooo
This whole magical ride is amazing. Tony would be an awesome guy to work for.
Cm Punk is happy and as a first match in seven years it was terrific. With the roster there will be a lot of epic matches glad he has his smile back
I'm loving happy wholesome punk and it's so funny that Daniel Bryan is being more edgy than CM Punk.
Basically the roles have been reversed.
AEW is here to fn stay!! Man I can’t wait to watch more.
I liked the match I like the more grounded techincal style and aew needs more matches like this plus it makes sense story wise that is type match he wrestle considering he's been off 7 years

It really didn’t need high spots really not every match needs 15 high spots they built the first 10 minutes for the last 7 punk did all the veteran things in the match it was actually really good storytelling
Punk has been wrestling since a teenager, it's like riding a bike, he can never forget or lose the ability to wrestle.
CM Punk looked INCREDIBLE for not having wrestled 7 years.
Tony Khans eyes 👀 when he hears punk might bucket list 🪣 want the Stinger! 🦂 👏
These post show press conferences add such a since of realism to pro wrestling. I love it
