I was halfway through an absolutely lunatic essay covering the difference between each iteration of these guns, but only got to the start of the assault rifles before I'd written half a page. This one's a bit beyond my abilities, so instead we're getting a quick summary. Battlefield Bad Company 2 tends to favor a more cartoony style of weapons handling with more pronounced recoil and bigger actions, such as magazine insertions and mag taps. It suffers from model quality and attention to detail issues, but features generally good overall movements and consistency in its animations. In general its sound sets are punchy, and well built with good handling sounds. Some sounds are a bit cartoonishly loud in comparison to others. Battlefield 3 generally features a more restrained, grounded approach to its weapons, with less extreme movements and more "soldier" reloads. BF3 has some inconsistencies, and some movements and transitions feel a bit stiff, or unnatural. Some weapons have visual bugs or lack of attention to detail that can be quite noticeable. Of course, BF3's shoot sounds are phenomenal, but its sound assets vary from nicely mechanical to weirdly quiet.
Those were Type 5's. Btw don't get fooled. They weren't as much a M1 Garand copy, they used Arisaka stripper clips to load, not M1 en-bloc clips like it does on video games. I mean, they were somehow a copy, but not a total one.
Sound: both sounds good ngl Models: well bf3 takes the cake Reloads: both are good on their own ways, some feel tactical and some feel stylish Winner: bf3
i don't know what it is but i've never really liked how the guns sounded in BF3, they sound too metalic and clangy with not a whole lot of bass. BF4 and BC2 had better sounds imo. BF3 is still great tho.

Anyone found it weird that the Japanese army was using M1Garands in first mission of Bad Company2?
