@simay özgentürk Just to point out the (what I thought was) obvious, the joke is there's no leftover fries because she eats them all.

Add some shredded cheddar, bacon bits and chives and you've got baked potato soup.
That sounds pretty yummy.
StGermain yummy.
Def cheese, maybe sour cream and ranch seasoning?
That’s what I was thinking the whole time! Lol
I was thinking that too! Soften them like she did, mash or blend them, then add some milk, mix and simmer, then add in some goodies like you listed.
This looks like the food experiments you’d make in the kitchen after school when you’re parents aren’t supervising you and you’re hungry

McDonald's acts like their ketchup is made from the tears of virgins born under a full moon.
You have to beg for it and even then they try and give you like 2 packets😂
Kay Jack I usually give out a hand full to the customers
They cost 1€ per packet here. It‘s not like they are free.
I've never gotten less than a fist full. I usually give most of it back. They just forget to put it in the bag if you don't ask.
I’ll get a small fry and be handed two handfuls of ketchup. More ketchup than fries.
Dang. Here in my area you have ketchup dispensers. Its a little pump machine and you just put it in little cups. Absolutely free!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so disappointed by a lack of ketchup in a McDonald’s bag
Condiments upon request!

IKR lol it's called you want it then ask, that shit is disgusting anyway.
You're lucky if you even get a napkin. You have to ask for condiments, salt and pepper. But they throw in straw without asking, you have to be quick to stop them if you don't want one.
Lmao I get sad when I see no ketchup packets
I cook leftover fries in butter on a frying pan until they get crispy, add some chopped onion til softened, and a shake of garlic powder and parsley over the top. Instant hash browns. Then just make some scrambled eggs over any leftover bits in the pan, and they're good for another meal

why does this comment have less likes than the "what are left over French fries" comment that has been repeated a good amount of times
They aren’t expensive or anything. They cost like eight bucks if you get the cheap brand. At least in Europe. And it works fine.
Who has ramen seasoning lying around though? xD stock cubes are a standard item in our house though 🤷♀️
Lmfao!!
@@AnneMaaikie Anyone who eats a lot of instant ramen? I buy instant noodles by the caseload, and I always have seasoning packets, because I frequently eat the noodles in ways that do not require me to use the included seasoning.
If you want to have leftover fries you have to go to Five Guys.
Was just thinking the same thing.
Heck yea
they taste bad, a reason for so much leftover.
I had five guys yesterday no that bad.
caca yang they are delicious, now please shut up
When i was child (1960’s) our local store would have the soup of the day which was all the leftovers from the day before and i was always amused to see cut up french fries in there. Was always cheap and tasted delicious.
ours too, it was Kresge (sp?) I think they turned into kmarts.)
....... sometimes I long for the simpler days.
You should try french fries omelettes.
Lightly oil the pan and put the fries in and refry till lighty brown. Beat 2 large eggs while it's frying, then pour the beaten eggs into the frying with the fries, season with salt and cayenne, add some cheese, fry till the eggs are lightly brown, then flip over. Serve when the flipped side is lightly brown.
I've tried to make these several times starting with the eggs in the pan - not the most delicious! Thank you for this comment
@@waxh9679 I initially made it with the eggs in the pan first but found the fries didn't cook enough before the eggs got burnt, hence the fries first method. This recipe got me through may days as a poor student and now a poor adult.
@@waxh9679 Yes the idea is like adding hasbrowns in first. I used to do this a lot. Whever you make an omelette and want the add-ins cooked, you have to add them first. tastes great if you like onions sauteed with the fries/potatoes in your egg. (I dont, but if i make it as a filling separate, the onion and egg flavor dont infuse)
Sounds good but now I have to get larger order of fries to have any leftover.
This sounds like a version of a Spanish tortilla one usually finds in tapas places! Check out: www.google.com/search?q=spanish+tortilla&oq=Spanish+tortilla for details.

When I was a kid, my grandma would take leftover mashed potatoes and make fried potato cakes. I wonder if somehow you could repurpose french fries too to make some kind of fried potato cakes out of them.
Yep...just mash them into a paste and form little patties, dip them in some cracker crumbs (or your favorite flour dredge), and fry them the same way. You could also just chop the fries into small chunks for quick hash browns either in or alongside your eggs for breakfast. Never waste a tater!

budget and you wont ever just have 3 dollars lmao BUDGET
If you have 3 dollars left, rather than wasting value on fast food, buy a bag of raw potatoes instead - it will last you longer than just one meal and is healtier for you too. You can still make potatoe soup out of them, but it wont have the orange grease layer on it and make a much larger amount. Also: I know it can be very hard, but do try to budget in the future - bulk base makes the most sense if you don't have a lot to spend on food.
Get some eggs and potatoes. You can eat like a King. Are videos but, hard boiled, deviled eggs, eggsalad, egg drop soup, etc, twice baked potatoes, patato salad, soup, eggs with fried potatoes etc... you can get bagged beans cheap, tons of meals from dry beans too, with a little effort you will never go hungry.Good Luck!
Such high praise: “I was about expecting it to taste rancid, but it really doesn’t.”
I work at Nandos and this is honestly so perfect! I can take over old fries in the chip vat and make soup!!!
Love these kinds of meals where you can use an already cooked meal to make a brand new meal. My favorites are using leftover hotdogs and burgers that have been grilled earlier. I chop up leftover sliced veggies for the burgers (tomatoes and onions mostly) and sauté them with diced hotdogs. I then use this and the leftover lettuce as a topping for tostadas for lunch next day. Super economical and it makes you feel like it’s a brand new dish instead of eating leftovers
Now make french onion soup from leftover onion rings.
That would be tasty...if nothing else, you could peel the breading off (or leave it on), toss them in some simmering broth for a couple of minutes, then put in a bowl and melt some shredded mozzarella over it.
For me it would be Leave out the ketchup and add some cheddar cheese. I bet that would be really delicious
Yes! Add some cheese and green onion, just like loaded potato soup! That would be great!
Yas
You could also do this recipe with left over potatoe chips. Cheddar and sour cream or onion and sour cream chips. Even mixed together would be good.
If you talked to a nice employee, they might give you that cheddar cheese at no charge. -
Yes extra old cheddar and chives or green onions, plus more water or I know she dissed veggie broth but I think it would add a dynamic to the fries

Not sure if you've tried to make it yet, but I'd love to see your rendition of egg gravy. It's similar to sausage gravy. In the prosscess but instead of sausage you use hard boiled eggs. My mom would make it as a 'fancy' breakfast or when we were low on money and didn't have much food. My mom got the recipe from my grandmother which was passed down from her grandmother who would end up making it for a lady she worked for as a maid. The lady would host tea parties and have it as brunch.
For people who don't have a blender: I used to mash things by pressing them down against the side of the container with a spoon (use the non-hollow side, ofc), and then mashing it a little further with a fork. Depending on how soft you have boiled it already, you can even whisk it with a fork. I used this to make brownies as well. It won't be perfect, but with some time and muscle , we can make it work! 💪
Left over french fries? Sorry, I dont know that one. 🤔

One of my favorite things to do with fries is add them into an omelet. Cut them up a little and it's like the cubed hashbrowns.
I can see why the original recipe included white wine. It was probably meant to cut into the processed flavor.
I think it would also help with any residual greasiness.

Leftover fries = you're doing something wrong
That my my thinking 🙋♀️
Leftover fries heat up perfectly in an air fryer. It's insane.
Rule of thumb: fries first, BAY BEE! I never ever start with my actual meal, so left over fries? No ma'am.
I get it and all but a 5lb bag of russets costs less than a small order of fries
Exactly what I thought too. Potatoes are a LOT cheaper than fries and you can make proper potatoe soup with them and larger quantities as well. So this is not for saving money on food, it is only viable if you have at least a cup of fries leftover that you ordered, then didn't eat and don't want to throw out. How often does that happen? (As a handful of fries might be left at the end of a meal, but enough to varant even starting this? I doubt it.)
@Tricia Weinheimer If you are looking for dirt-cheap meals, chances are, you might not be in a position in which you can decide you don't want to bother doing any work preparing your meals.
If you don't want to lift a finger, I suggest going to a restaurant and simply ordering potatoe soup instead. It will be delicious, there will be no annoying work involved and it will most probably be of higher quality than purred french fries. You'll pay for that convenience though.
I agree, but if you have leftover fries that you already paid for then making a meal out of them instead of throwing them out makes sense. You obviously wouldn't buy fries just to make soup lmao
This isn't just a series of penny meals, some of them are resourceful ways to make sure the times you splurge actually last
Tricia Weinheimer scrub them clean and cook them in a crockpot or instant pot. You can pop the skins off or use the skins for soup/stew/mashed potatoes, etc. also works for butternut squash.
You could turn the fries into a paste with broth, fry them and serve for breakfast.
Tip: When you boil the fries, add a bit more water and some chopped broccoli(sp?). Don't bother with the ketchup. Add some vegetable broth, salt, pepper and a little bit of thyme. Blend. Serve with a grilled cheese on the side.. 💖
This is supposed to be for people going through dire time. Though your tips sound great, they do not fit the bill :)

@@OhPhuckYou tbf idk about over there but over here the lines can get incredibly long despite being "fast" food lmao
@@recilince Same, but that's usually because a large majority of the employees are working their first job and making mistakes. It's not the extra time it takes to put condiments in the bags that causes the lines over here. One of the most efficient places over here is Taco Bell, and they will throw 20 sauces in your bag. If anything people checking their bags and having to ask for something takes more time. It's not about speeding the process up, but rather cutting cost out of their bottom line. It's understandable on the surface especially when you have a monopoly; cutting cost won't affect customer retention.

For reheating McDonald's fries, spray with a very small bit of oil, toss, and put in a COLD oven at 350°
I usually repurpose leftover fries into scrambled eggs - warm them up and mash in the frying pan, add in whatever you normally add to scrambled eggs (mushroom, bell pepper, etc.), add in the eggs once the vegetables are cooked, add salt and pepper to taste, and top with whatever you like (cheese, green onion, ketchup, hot sauce, hollandaise, etc.)

I actually did that recipe but differently, I added milk instead of water, and i also used the spice blend that my mom uses in her potato soup recipe and it was AMAZING
Discovered your channel yersterday and I love it, I love you! Amazing content, down to earth, cozy. So many UA-camrs think you need to scream, one second video clips. You are great
"oh man" - literally the worst thing emmy has ever said in her life
McDonald's fries are no good when reheated, but for other places, put the fries in a brown paper bag by themselves while still warm, seal the bag, store it. When you go to reheat them, throw the bag o' fries straight in the microwave. Reheat in 60 second bursts to your desired hotness.

How do know how many will be leftover if you put them in the bag while they’re still edible or warm?
I love these videos!!
You remind me alottt of my mom growing up. We had white rice and kraft square cheese for most dinners. Wish youtube was as relevant then as it is now! You’re so pleasant! I appreciate your optimism, because even when you start to say something that could sound negative, you make the entire experience a positive! 😀😀💕
