My ex-boss who was a truck mechanic had a large Cornwell toolbox mounted on a rolling dolly, I on the other side of the shop repaired floor cleaning equipment, a customer of mine had a riding scrubber, battery powered they gave it to us because they were getting a new one, anyway, I stripped it down to nothing, all dead weight gone, and was hauling ass around the shop, I suggested to him that he should find a way to use it to tow his heavy toolbox around as he always looked like he was struggling to push it, well he did and thought it was awesome!, he was a great guy and a few years older than me, so anything I could do to make things easier for him, I was happy to do it!
They don't call them "mechanics" anymore. We are automotive technicians. I worked with a guy at the Ford dealer back in the 80's. His name was Frank and he was from eastern Europe somewhere. Always thought the KGB was after him. Anyway, back then not everybody had taco wagons. A lot of us, like me had Mac tool chest with bottom cabinet, middle box and top box with saddle bag boxes on each side. So Frank motorized his box. He used power seat motors and transmissions. Mounted them underneath on the bottom cabinet. In One side bag he had installed small oxyacetylene tanks with gages and hook-ups on the side of the side bag. Then the other side bag he installed a battery with connections mounted on the side bag. He would hook-up his jumper switch and drive the darn thing around. So he could drive his box to where he was working in the shop. He could jump cars, he could do welding. Oh and he put a siren on it so everybody knew when he was driving his tool box. It was quite ingenious.
@@GrowTopia1776 this one is from the new season that started within the past month or 2, it's not old, ergo my statement about the new shop. You can see Project Red Bird, unfinished, nearby, this is his newest project.
So essentially, they aren't going to be motorized toolboxes, but instead toolboxes mounted on a modified Dixie Chopper (because all of us can just call up Dixie Chopper and ask for a spare chassis, right?) chassis, and another mounted on another modified puller chassis. Basically, toolboxes mounted on go-karts. Shame. This project screams for electric hub motors mounted at each corner and a battery pack at the bottom of the box in place of the bottom drawers. Then mount the seat cantilever from the rear with a joystick control. THAT is a motorized toolbox. Control directory by varying the motor speeds.
Sorry all nice Ideas But the best Idea would to make a elec., tool box.... Of the 3 you showed the last would be one is what a first time younger may think of an work with..
Stacey is one of my legit heroes.
So awesome to be able to binge watch gearz.... Stacy is the man!!!
So awesome Gearz is back on UA-cam! It's great to be able to see more than just snips! Thanks for doing this!
Thank you for putting it together and on u tube luv your work again thanks
Classic Stacey when he transitions with “OKAY” or “ALRIGHT” those are signature words for him. I always listen for it idk why lol.
Stacey has been one of my favorite builders for most of my life I love how he still has a child's creativity
I grew up watching this guy build some of the nicest builds I've have ever seen on Trucks. He really is a mechanical genius

About time full episodes. Hate getting up at 530am. To see a show. Thanks
Love that line…”Frankenstein Deathtrap!”
I haven’t seen heavy metal completed yet would love to see it finished
Very cool!!!!!! 👍👍
Very cool project can't wait to c how turns out
Love the videos in the new shop stacy
This reminds me of the Home improvement episode when Tim Allen raced his lawnmower
An Aircraft Maintenaner's dream project. Try pushing those boxes daily about 800 to 1200 feet.
I started by building models all from my dad and uncles then grew to cars and now Harleys in the mix lmfao
Way cool, brother...you rock!
2:31 to 10:26 I thought you weren't going to do that, it's in your rules Stacey! Lol made to be broken.

This idea is really cool but why not go with electric powered & rechargeable batteries with remote control?
Because when he made this back in the early 2000s no one gave a shit about electric
@@skylermccauley7622 Early 2000s? This is brand new, he's in his new shop.
@@michaelcallan5336 These are old eps that they putting out again for people who missed them from TV on speed channel and i forgot the other channel

He doesn't even do gearz and left trucks years ago when I was younger than 12 I'm 27 now
At least if you crash one of these your tools are right there....
Looks like a mini buggy but without the roof
i would of put a few eliectric motors on it and made it rc
You going to show the builds or what I am a little disappointed we didn't see the builds.
Builds are in progress!
What happened to all the build videos? I always like to rewatch them
They're on the channel now. I think we overloaded UA-cam by making so many videos available at once haha!
Question is. How many more episodes. I love you stacy but really, uboob???? Wonder why i never saw the tow truck finished.

Put the toolbox behind the driver, otherwise you'll be driving blind
One should've been electric or hydraulically driven.
