Pink lady goes hard, too bad shes on the evil side
Honestly it’s really a mix of being a shame and being funny. The lady in pink clearly has a powerful spirit and good rhetorical skill but by having the politics she does she limits herself only to ever be a pawn in others games, even in the early 20th century female fascist could have hug sway but now they have been relegated effectively DEI positions republicans only keep around not to scare of women voters but not allowed to use their natural talent to rise in rank.
Like seriously I don’t think I have ever even seen a male republican politician have that much fire and rhetorical mastery in them. She clearly could fly high if she was a progressive person r even liberal, but by nature of being a conservative she has relegated herself to be in a position where people only know her if they really pay attention to politics
Chat asking who to root for was so cringe
"She is not answering the questions." Um..."Secret" Service...it's in the name.
I think the issue with that is that she's stonewalling even the most basic questions and doing the equivalent of going "nuh uh" when called out on incompetency. Even when the questions are too specific or have security risks if answered, she basically goes "I dunno" instead of just explaining that the answer is dangerous to say publicly. It makes her sound laughably incompetent.
Also, I'm pretty sure earlier in the video it was mentioned that she was more forthcoming with the news than she was being with Congress. That's completely insane if true. Congress has the right to know about this kind of stuff. It would be one thing if she were putting forth an argument that she can't talk about something with the public listening for future security reasons, but instead she just doesn't answer questions or says she doesn't know things that she absolutely should. Almost certainly just flatly lying on tv in a hearing.
”was there a secret service member on the building where the shooter was” is not something that should be kept super hidden. in fact, there are reports that there in fact was no one on that building

@@novelseeker4410 but what if the answer isnt no, then youre lying under oath
@@marsfridge yes? I think that’s the point.
From my understanding, the counter snipers were looking at buildings farther away. in order to see the roof that the shooter was on they would’ve had to pan down. While they did spot him before hand like they said, they lost him in the crowd, so there was no reason to check the roof of the closer building if you’re assigned to scan the farther away building. (this, of course depends on the optic in use but field of view is typically pretty restricted when looking through the scope)
I do think there was a breakdown of communication with local law-enforcement because once local law-enforcement had intention to check the roof that should’ve been communicated to the sniper so he can also check .
They apparently knew there was a suspicious person 20 minutes before it happened. They should have shut the whole thing down and not let him onstage. Also letting him get his shoes, letting him do his little fist pump which put him back in the line of fire are extremely bad screw ups as far as the secret service is concerned.
@@edwardzignot2681 idk if seeing a suspicious person is reason enough to prevent Trump from appearing.
I totally agree with the fist in the air thing, it’s undeniable a good pic but was super risky.
Not surprised. Secret service proprity one is to absolutely never reveal a fucking micometer of their methods, tactixs or resources. Because doing so jeopardizes the most important person in the world. Not saying they didnt shit in their hand and clap here, but the stonewalling is on point for a reason
Secret is in the name, so yeah
a person you can replace with a simple vote is not "the most important person in the world".
@@Henrik_Holst Stupidest thing Ive read in months
I love that imagery, are you a writer?
Exactly, a publicly viewed hearing is not the place for the secret service director to candidly discuss the agency's current known vulnerabilities. The point of the investigation is to determine those, then they have to either fix them or compensate for them, after which it may be appropriate to share them with the public.
I'll be honest, securing an outdoor venue does sound practically impossible. Especially because the area you'd cover to secure a larger radius scales quadratically

Its a very human response, when we dont know what to think or do we look towards trusted figures of authority, (this is of course a fallacy)
You should never take what chat says too seriously it is the perfect example of being compelled to communicate with little thought.
Of course she isn't answering them because it's always the policy of law enforcement in this country not to reveal details of ongoing investigations for VERY OBVIOUS and good reasons. I know Congress feels like it deserves answers, but it is NOT the executive branch and it will need to wait until the official investigation is completed and the facts are vetted. This hearing was entirely performative (especially during the GOP questions) and entirely NOT productive toward getting actual answers. Welcome to being human, where humans are driven more by emotion and outrage than calm and cool.
Calm and cool = facts and logic
Police investigations regularly do public disclosure, otherwise you would never have public circulation of suspect photos. There's an entire duty of disclosure that collapses cases if the police don't follow it.
While I'm skeptical that congress doesn't have a right to know, it's certainly true that it was performitive since it was a public hearing. The thing that gets me with this, though, is that she could have just explained that she can't publicly answer these questions due to security concerns, and maybe gone into vague detail on why in order to show she's cooperating as much as possible. Instead she just refuses to answer anything and goes "I dunno" to things that she blatantly should. It goes beyond just stonewalling and teeters on just lying in a hearing. Especially during the yes or no portion.
That's BS. THIS IS THE INVESTIGATION. Also, if that was the real reason why she couldn't answer any questions, she would say it's policy to not reveal details about the ongoing investigation, instead of obfuscating her answers and just being completely unintelligible.
That doesn't change the fact that she could've answered some of those questions. She literally dodged every single one of them. If she was any good at her job she would've said "at this time this is what we know." But she couldn't even do that.
hello mr vaush
Did you have an appointment?
All those people with guns and nobody did shit until someone was already bleeding out and about to die. What, are they gonna say they didn't have enough guns this time?
It's true that the director wasn't answering anything, but forcing to reply with just "yes or no" is like asking "i'm gonna ask you a series of charged questions and you're gonna be ok with It"
The meme example Is "Does your mom know that you're gay? Yes or no?" I don't think that getting a forced answer Is better than not getting one
Edit: even worse Is getting an answer and saying that's bullshit when the other party Isn't able to defend themselves properly because you requested vehemently to answer just yes or no💀
When someone is being slimy you gotta pin them down and make them take ANY position. Because then at least you have a solid point to say wether or not they told the truth or a lie. She's there under oath. It's fucked you can just deflect and get off scot free to resign a few days later

This thing that Jim Jordan and other Republicans like to do, keep on yelling rapid-fire, don't let them say anything, then yell something else at them, I'm just realizing another reason why it's utterly stupid. It makes me knee-jerk sympathize with the person being questioned and instantly turns me against the questioner. Even if he's asking sensible questions, they way he's asking them turns me against him and makes him seem irrational and dishonest. I'm sure I'm not the only person who reacts this way. Comer comes off a lot more fair and reasonable just by speaking at a reasonable speed and volume and not instantly rejecting everything she says (not that he isn't a total asshat too).

Remember a few years ago when secret service agents were drunk driving into the white house barrier and hiring prostitutes?
It's not even about being "classified". And it's not about her trying to avoid being attacked. It's about her protecting the institution of the Secret Service and the officers that are under her command. If you don't understand why she is behaving the way she does in this hearing, then you simply don't understand the bigger picture or how the executive branch works in this country.

In defence of the claim that assassins aren't really a thing; there was a case fairly recently in my town where there was a high profile public assassination of a figure with connections to organised crime. Investigators tracked the assassin down and the guy was former SAS (basically special forces). I guess you just need ot know where to look.
So, while I absolutely hate the absence of information, I recognize that they are asking questions that, if answered, jeopardize Secret Service tactics. There are better ways to ask specific questions about the situation that are intentionally not being used.
how could they leave a building with clear sight lines just open with no one looking at it?
Because Trump is a dock and They were all sick of dealing with him probably secretly wishing it would happen… I think we all realize how poor that judgement was now in hindsight
my guess is that they have become lazy after covering hundreds of rallies where nothing ever happened.
I mean, the suggested reasons have been all over the place.
That it was all fake, that they hired a guy who was so bad a shot he got kicked out of a gun club, and he was such a bad shot he almost was a good shot.
That the building was far enough away to be outside the perimeter to be local law enforcement's job, and local law enforcement did in fact try to approach him, but since they are not obligated to protect they backed down when their own life was threatened.
That the secret service kinda actually wanted it to happen so allowed everyone to be just incompetent enough to say it wasn't their fault.
That the "leopard eating faces" party saw the leopard and thought it could never eat their face
You know, all the fun things that get spread around because we don't have the full story. And i kind of doubt we ever will. If you're subpoenaed by Congress, especially as an appointed member of government, you should be required to answer questions. If you don't, Congress should hold you in contempt and revoke your status immediately.
Of course Comer would never hold his own side to that standard, but it should be applied to anyone who tries to pull the "I can't recall" or other question dodging nonsense.

She's the biggest liar in the history of the secret service or comically incompetent

STAY HYDRATED SECRET SERVICE LADY!!!
It's an on going investigation. She doesn't know, or can't answer. This is so stupid. 😄
On your comment about there not being a way to establish a perimeter in this day and age, I don’t think they can prepare for literally every scenario but the least they can do is raise the bar of competency for a potential presidential assassination to be a bit outside the reach of some teenager with bad impulse control and access to daddy’s gun on a bad day.
So the secret service gets a lot of blame but it also sounds like law enforcement at the spot failed at their job.
"Madam Director, I am now suggesting that you be held in contempt and put on indefinite leave" - Me, after not getting an answer for the tenth time
That was a humiliation ritual
I don't think people realize how many levels up the chain of command she probably was from the agents who actually coordinated Trump's security detail. She's the fricken director. They're asking her questions like she was there that day and was the one who decided not to have anyone on the roof.
There were some major screw-ups made, that's for sure, but they're asking a lot of questions as if she personally orchestrated them. Then get upset when she talks about agency policy in general because they're still writing the reports to send to her.
Also, I've seen people says she should have stepped down basically right away. I also think that's stupid. She then loses access to all the ongoing investigations and reports. Congress then has to subpoena whoever took over for her regarding the facts, and that person could just frustrate them with "I'm still getting information sent to me since I wasn't in charge when this happened."
It comes with the territory of leadership. All responsibility stops at her, fair or unfair.
@@prestongrundmeyer2518 I agree with that, and I'm not saying she shouldn't have stepped down or borne responsibility. I'm saying the lines of questioning were idiotic (or at least expecting her to have immediate answers to those questions). Being in charge of a group of chucklefucks doesn't give you knowledge of why they're chucklefucks.
It would be like questioning the Commandant right after a bunch of Marines fucked up some operation. He's not gonna know why they made the mistakes they made; he's not in charge of operations.
They should have also had whoever was in charge that day answering questions, that's all I'm saying. Because that's where the answers would lie. She can bear responsibility and step down over the blunder, but they're asking questions like she made decisions that she didn't
She's responsible for the hiring practices, and training programs. However, the thing we should be most focusing on her is the cronyism that led to her getting that role in the first place i.e. being a close friend with and getting a recommendation from the first lady.
@@Mitjitsu This all factors into my point. She's responsible. That doesn't mean she would have had answers to specific questions. So many of the questions were either ones that shouldn't be revealed publicly (e.g. the exact formula for determining how large a perimeter should be) or questions that she couldn't give definitive answers to yet until the reports are completed (e.g. what was the decision making process that led to the perimeter being what it was that day)
They should have brought in whoever is directly in charge of Trump's detail to answer questions about the event. If a Walmart employee slips on a wet floor, you wouldn't question the CEO about how it happened, you'd question the manager. Even if the CEO should step down because the reason was HQ buying a bunch of zambonis instead of floor cleaners

You don't need to cover a 600yd radius in a city, because there aren't really many 600yd lines of sight in a city. Certainly not in all directions. 🤷♂
As someone from a country where hearings like this are held without public recordings and only reports are issued afterwards, I sometimes wish at least some very high-interest hearings were public, but the obvious risk is that it could turn all hearings into 100% political theatre, transforming a useful tool into a farce, especially when there appears to be no limit to the silliness, looking at 17:38. That kind of stuff just gets on my fucking nerves, like, stfu, who watches that and thinks anything is being accomplished there?
I imagine it's hard to answer questions like this while trying to keep your methodology to keep the Presidents safe. You don't want enemies to know the detail of the formations you do and how you patrol. They recruit local law enforcement, and I imagine that is where it failed since the police officer saw the suspect and backed away.

trump turns down the more expensive and more secure venues. he'd been warned about rallies in open venues. it's trumps fault too for his recklessness.
It is, but he's not the one responsible for the security of the Republican presidential candidate.
I've met Nancy Mace a few times, she's got this energy all the time.
either this is gross incompetence, deliberate negligence, or that kid's CoD skills were so on fleek i wouldnt be surprised if he did a 360 before he took the shot. all said, Trump's hitbox is clearly as jank as he looks.
I’m not going to lie, that lady in pink who said “that’s bullshit” was awesome. I was getting frustrated and just wanted someone to cut through and firmly ask for yes or no answers like she did. I might disagree with that lady on many things but credit where credits is due, bravo pink lady
Gotta say, I can’t disapprove of the questions asked, dammit.
sorry Vaush, but we gotta stan tactical incompetence when done against literal fascists. Your handler will be contacting you to further explain this.
I will say that the whole "yes or no" section was something i would bristle at if i was on a stand. The wording is very akin to the "when did you stop beating your partner" type questions where the answer is you never started.
"This was a catastrophic failure, yes or no"
To me sounds like i'm either agreeing the failure is catastrophic or there was no failure at all. And that's just annoying
