We just had a wood stove installed last week, Really hoping it offsets the propane bill that’s around $600 every other month! Our dairy, chip prices at Kroger here are very close to yours..I am a Diet Pepsi drinker and it is $9.99 a 12 pack when not on sale! They were 3 for $10 Before Covid.. I am in Rural Michigan..

Our prices are very similar in my small town in Ontario, Canada. I am 1 hr 20 min drive to Costco and I am thankful that my Costco will deliver. And we are at 5.96 per gallon ( 1.49 per liter. ) 3.39 per gallon is around .84cents per liter

I just came across your channel and was showing my wife. It’s been 30yrs since I’ve been in Alaska. The prices your showing at Kroger there are fairly close to here in Missouri at Kroger
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure and showing your wife 😊! Glad you have been to Alaska 😊! Thanks for sharing about your Missouri prices being close to ours 😊! Would not have thought that! Thanks for your support 🥰!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! The wage is a little higher here, but not much higher. It's expensive to live here, especially for rent and groceries. Everything goes up even more during the tourist season.
Tis the cost of living free and in peace and quiet. I chose Montana. Not as cold, nor as expensive with plenty of wide open areas to hunt, hike, explore and just get away from it all.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure! Yes, exactly the cost of living like that 😊! Montana sounds great! I have heard nice things about it 😊!
We’re moving to Austin Texas in apirl from Tennessee and the prices are crazy expensive for housing.. my husband got a job at a huge company that pays excellent so we’re branching off to Texas,
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks so much for sharing 😊! Yes, Austin is pretty expensive, but it's a nice area 😊! Congrats on your husbands new job and best wishes on your move 😊🎉!
I’m from Australia and the prices looks great 😮 we are $39 for 24 cans of coke but can get on sale for $24 things are out of control here at the moment. But I get why you find things expensive coming from Texas. Love the videos ❤
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure all the way from Australia 😊! Thanks so much for sharing with us 😊! That is super expensive for coke, even on sale. Yes, cheaper than you, but more expensive compared to Texas. So glad you love our videos and thanks for the support 🥰!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Thanks for your support ❤️! Thanks for sharing your prices with us 😊! That's interesting, especially that our beverages are more 😊!
Another great one guys but you know that Texas may be cheaper in some ways but Alaska has them best for clean freedom and the lower 48s can come close that anyone Alaska is the last big deal and I’m still Louisiana and msn hope we don’t a summer like last it was hell on the farmers and my small farm as well keep up good work be safe love the family yes can all you can
Thanks for watching and joining us on another adventure ❤️! Thanks so much for all of your kind words and support 🥰! Yes, that is so true about Alaska. The scenery does make it worth the higher prices. Yes, hoping your Louisiana Summer is. Not as bad as last year 😊! That's awesome you have a farm 🥰!
We love your clean content. Please do a video of day in a life video with a baby in Alaska. I follow few channels of ppl living and surviving in Alaska, but they don't have small children so its nice to see how ppl get by with small children. Thank you for keeping it clean so we can enjoy your channel with our young children. We watch your videos as a movie for our movie nights.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊 We appreciate your support ❤️! That makes us so happy to hear that you watch as a family and enjoy our videos for movie night ❤️! Thanks for the suggestion! We will definitely look into doing a day in the life with small children 😊!
Can you get Sodastream up there and the syrups? I drink it plain like soda water but we have syrup here for caffeine free diet cola in case we want it maybe once every 6 weeks or so. Thankful we are not too much into junk food. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! Yes, we should be able to get a Sodastream and syrups 😊! That's a good idea and glad it works for you. Thanks for sharing 😊!
@@GoodLivingAlaska no worries I hope it helps, that way you control what goes in it. Congratulations on your channel and we love your story. Hope all is well. Take care.
❤❤❤ I live I central Wisconsin... tourism is the main trade, and relatively speaking, our summer prices go up about the same percentage as you talking about. 😊 40 years ago I worked at a year-round restaurant that actually had 2 menus with different pricing for same items... 1 for May 15th to Oct 1st, and 1 for the rest of the year!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing with us 😊! Yes, that's exactly what happens here too at restaurants and entertainment! We lived in Wisconsin for 4 years and we enjoyed the seasons 😊!
I have a question, I live in Michigan. We don't have a Sams club in our home town but did open a account online and I picked the plus membership they offer. With the best membership most items they sell online I can get shipped for free, this doesn't apply to bottles of pop or water or any cold food. Do you have Sams club where you are at? Glad to see the family is doing well. God bless your family 💕
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing 😊!Unfortunately, we don't have Sam's Club at all in Alaska. We also can't get Costco to ship from Anchorage to where we live. That's great you can and get free shipping 😊! Thanks for the kind words and same to you and your family 🥰!
Are you able to utilize the shipping aspect from Costco?????? I know here in the Midwest we do that quite often and do large enough orders to obtain the free shipping. We were 2.5 hours from the closest Costco and did this quite a bit. Now we have one an hour away and can shop there more often.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊 We appreciate your support ❤️! Thanks for sharing about the Costco shipping 😊! Unfortunately this is not an option for us and where we live... would be great if it was. Glad it was an option for you and they built one closer to you 😊.
Do you feel even after gas expenses driving to Costco you save a lot still? Gas is going up in Florida. How about clothes, housewares, sundries, ect.? Still high? Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Yes, even with gas prices, it's still cheaper and we save, especially since Anchorage doesn't have any sales tax 😊! We look for most of those things at Costco bc they are mostly higher where we live. Thanks for your continued support ❤️!
I live in Michigan and our meat is surprisingly very comparable to yours there, Hamburger here is $4.99lb, chicken breast is $3.99 lb. Corned beef brisket $5.99-$6.99.. though are produce is cheaper..
congrats on your beautiful baby girl , keep up the good work. I love watching your videos , it is hard for me to get around anymore I wish I would of thought to do all of that kind of stuff when I was younger .

Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 💗! We sometimes miss the Texas weather in the Winter, but not the heat and humidity. The Summers here are amazing and the Winter is comparable to when we lived in Wisconsin 😊. We do miss the Wisconsin Fall season - it was beautiful there 😊!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Yes, definitely and we do take that into account, and believe it or not we still save money bc there is no sales tax in Anchorage 😊!
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Sometimes it does get above 60 where we live on the peninsula 😊. Yes, it's mainly blueberries and other berries that grow and some apples. Veggies do good in green houses and with the midnight sun 😊!

@@GoodLivingAlaska one of the many reasons I'm looking for a new place to move to lol - It's a very small town in the winter near a ski area and goes from 5000 to 50000 people in the summer with all the Phoenix-Tucson summer heat escapees. We're not near a bigger city, so many things are limited and more expensive - even at the Walmart

Will gas prices as of today on March 19th are gas prices are 379 a gallon and your milk up there is the same price as ours here in Michigan several other things you had there were cheaper than what are here in Michigan like a 10 lb bag of potatoes for $3.99 is a good price here in Michigan and we are a state that grows potatoes
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing your Michigan prices with us 😊! Wow, that's crazy most of your prices are higher, especially on the potatoes! Thanks for your support 🥰!
Do you have sales and state tax in Alaska? Your prices look very much like our prices in Manitoba Canada. We also have a 5% Government sales tax and 7% Provincial sales tax that's tacked on at the till.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! We do have sales tax where we live, which is why we drive to Anchorage to shop at Costco. Anchorage does not have sales tax. We also pay property taxes, but not state tax. Thanks for sharing 😊! Wow, that is high for tax! Thanks for your support ❤️!
I'm in Maine. We don't have Fred Myers here. But we do have a Shaws which I think is basically the northeast version of Fred Myers. At least here, you got to be rich to shop there. I'm actually looking to move to Alaska. I've noticed some of your prices are way more and others are maybe a dollar or two more than ours. How's Walmart prices up there? Walmart seems to be the cheapest around here but they've also pretty much ran most of the other grocery stores out of business here. We have a Hannaford here. I'm not sure what it would be up there. They have deals if you can find them.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure all the way from Maine 🥰! Fred Meyers is a little more than Walmart, but when there are sales, it's a much better deal, especially on meat. Walmart is better on prices for home, pets, clothes, etc. Not sure if you have Kroger or similar, but Fred Meyer is in the same family. That would be great if you could move to Alaska 😊! Best wishes 😊!
@@GoodLivingAlaska we have Hannaford, Shaws and Walmart here. Shaws and Fred Myer I think are in the same family of stores. We just finally got a Costco in Southern Maine but it's like 2 hours from me so I don't shop there. We do have Sam's Club which is Walmarts version of Costco. I know with the Shaws, when they have deals. The deals are worth getting most of the time but the deals are few and far between and some.of their so called deals aren't really deals. I usually shop at Walmart for everything except Meat. Some stuff I've resorted to buying from Amazon like Body Wash, Shampoo etc. I can stock up on it and it's not something I need like right now so if it doesn't get here for a week or two, it's not a huge problem. I've been researching Alaska and the different parts of Alaska along with the cost of living and a lot of other issues because I'm hoping to move to Alaska in the next year or two.
What a great exercise! It just goes to show how well off the lower 48 is. Mind you, the cost of gas, the smaller market share contribute to high prices, for sure. I think, today, it is impossible to live in one salary unless, the salary is super high. You really have to stock up on the most needed items. I think, our Canadian prices are actually lower, exchange rate included. It's good to see the differences. Great idea to feature this on your video. prices always been high in Alaska. You can't compare to Texas, you don't live there anymore. Have you added up how much gas you spend on a 6hr drive? wear and tear on the car? that's a long drive for groceries. I live in Canada and our prices tripled, it's crazy

Hi your gas prices are pretty much the same as we have here in Northwest Indiana. I was surprised that it wasn't much higher like many other things. I had heard that a gallon of Milk in Alaska could be as high as $12.00 a gallon but it seemed like it was much less at your Fred Meyer.

Inflation…! My niece from Kotzebue sent a photo of whipping cream, 64 fl oz for 28.00. 😮. Case of bottled water, 49.00. Lower 48 prices are lower, all companies do their shipping by railroad or ground (trucking) most of our items are shipped my air cargo, and barge (sea). I am Native Alaskan, Alaskan Native..! We lived in Alaska from 1990-2000, and return every summer for fishing, and currently live in Colorado. Although some of the prices you showed are shocking, the prices in Colorado are not much better....... and do not want to spin any political talk in here, but we have a good idea of why the prices have skyrocketed since 2020! All I'm going to say about that! Have you tried Three Bears in Sterling? They are kind of like a mini Costco. It just opened last summer and don't imagine they are as busy this time of year, but might have some good deals. Just wondering. Anyway, love the videos, and counting down the days to come fishing this summer, and see our progress on the house we are having built.

So glad you are enjoying the videos and we can't thank you enough for your continued support ❤️!
The toilet paper and peanut butter price is about the same in Ohio, Pepsi when up about 3 dollars ( this is at Walmart and Kroger) that's why I wait for sales on pop from either Kroger or Meijer's, if not I just buy store brand and I buy store brand chips unless Kroger has them on sale. Eggs, chicken went up in price. Sometimes I think it's better to buy frozen fruits and vegetables because the fresh spoils to quickly
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing about your prices in Ohio 😊! Yes, definitely agree with waiting on sales and buying store brands 😊. Yes, frozen is cheaper and lasts much longer 😊.
Shipping cost of heavy item's , but I'm a comparative shopper and since covid arrived and ended manufacturers up their price and groceries up theirs, now we have inflation. To bad you don't have a Aldi's their prices are up a couple of cents. I ask why. Aldi's sell so cheap and a regular grocery store keeps raising their prices , I come the conclusion that it's pure greed starting with manufacturing and Grocery stores . Products like coke was 1.99 before covid now in Florida it up to 7.99 to 8.99 pure greed . When is it going to stop ?????
Thanks for watching and joining us on our Costco adventure 💗! Thanks for sharing with us 😊! We wish there was an Aldi's here, too 😊! Really liked that store! Yes, it's crazy how much stuff has gone up since Covid! Groceries are pretty expensive in Alaska due to shipping.

Lisa not Bob, in So Calif. gas is $4.50 to $5.50 and will go up in the summer. The sale prices on food looks like the price we pay not on sale. I do have cheaper store like Walmart, Grocery Outlet ,Aldi’s, Sam’s and Costco just 10min’s from my house. I grow most of my veggies and two fruit trees in my back yard. Sourdough starters are great and I make breads. I like to cook so not too many going out to eat. It all helps with crazy Calif. prices.
Hi Lisa! Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing your California prices with us 😊! Wow, crazy gas prices! That's awesome you have so many stores close by and that you grow/make some of your own food 😊!
We moved from the midwest to the rocky mountains and noticed a huge jump in groceries, especially produce. I was shocked! We also had the grocery discount chain Aldi close to us in the midwest and there are none of those here. Gas prices were actually cheaper here, as were utilities. We drive about 90 minutes to Costco once a month for the same reasons you do! Our gas is currently 2.85, but going up already for spring and summer driving.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing with us 😊! We had Aldi's in Texas, too, but none here either, unfortunately. Yes, it's crazy that it's still cheaper to drive far to Costco 😊! Not looking forward to gas going up!

Sorry but using Texas as a price comparison is a really poor choice. Texas has one of the lowest cost of living in the lower 48, their real estate is super cheap, and min wage is really low. Most things are higher in AK anyway, but you get a much higher min wage, no sales tax, no property tax some places, and the PFD.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! We just use Texas bc that's where we came from. We also show Alaskan prices so people in other states can compare 😊. The Kroger sales here get picked over as well. Those weekly digital deals are often gone if I get there late. There is just less available all over
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing 😊! Less everywhere does seem to be more and more true! Thanks for supporting our channel ❤️!
I haven't heard you talk about wage comparison. Does a higher wage compensate for the higher prices?
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure 😊! The wage is a little higher here, but not much higher. It's expensive to live here, especially for rent and groceries. Everything goes up even more during the tourist season.
Tis the cost of living free and in peace and quiet. I chose Montana. Not as cold, nor as expensive with plenty of wide open areas to hunt, hike, explore and just get away from it all.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure! Yes, exactly the cost of living like that 😊! Montana sounds great! I have heard nice things about it 😊!
Here in Michigan i paid 3.39 for unleaded
Same here in Northern Michigan!

Wow crazy prices

I’m from Australia and the prices looks great 😮 we are $39 for 24 cans of coke but can get on sale for $24 things are out of control here at the moment. But I get why you find things expensive coming from Texas. Love the videos ❤
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure all the way from Australia 😊! Thanks so much for sharing with us 😊! That is super expensive for coke, even on sale. Yes, cheaper than you, but more expensive compared to Texas. So glad you love our videos and thanks for the support 🥰!

Can you get Sodastream up there and the syrups? I drink it plain like soda water but we have syrup here for caffeine free diet cola in case we want it maybe once every 6 weeks or so. Thankful we are not too much into junk food. Thanks for sharing.

Here in Phoenix the gas is $3.99, I had to fill up yesterday.

I live in Michigan and our meat is surprisingly very comparable to yours there, Hamburger here is $4.99lb, chicken breast is $3.99 lb. Corned beef brisket $5.99-$6.99.. though are produce is cheaper..
yeah the Fred Meyers in Oregon is pretty close to those prices as well, Texas is just cheaper than a lot of places.

Do you have sales and state tax in Alaska?
Your prices look very much like our prices in Manitoba Canada. We also have a 5% Government sales tax and 7% Provincial sales tax that's tacked on at the till.

@GoodLivingAlaska well that's fantastic especially if you love it I have several friends living there 3 in Anchorage and 1 in Kodiak

I live in a small Texas town (12,000) and I saw several items about what I pay. There is a Sam’s about 65 miles from us & the nearest Costco is 3 hours. Our gas is $3.04 & we have 2 major refineries within 40 miles of us.
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing about your prices in Texas 😊! That's interesting several items are comparable to what you pay.
The flip side of your story is this: a six pack of beer in Soldotna cost a dollar or 2 more than Oregon....and a fresh mango at freddys in Soldotna is $2.99 , sometimes 2 for 5.... y'all are waay too young to understand__ back in the day it was pretty tough to get a good looking head of lettuce at the store. The jobs pay a lot better in Alaska because we are NOT a right to work state, Ooops meant to say right to starve state like Texass is. My apprentices here in Alaska make more than your Journeymen make in Texas. Texas is 10 miles from the produce of México.... so___ yeah you guys get 10 avos for a dollar.... BUT WE GET FREE SALMON , MOOSE, HALIBUT FROM OUR NEIGHBORS
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Thanks for sharing and yes that is all true 😊! Really enjoy the free salmon, halibut, and moose 😊!
Pop biggest waste of money out there stick to water, $18.99…🙈
Thanks for watching and joining us on our adventure ❤️! Yes, totally agree it's a waste of money and not good for you 😊!

That is true in some places in Alaska. Where we live, we do have sales and property taxes, which is why we drive to Anchorage to shop 😊.
