Thank u for this new medium, very smart and we can make some comments, I am ok with the predominance of US market on the rest of the world for the long term.. even if I am French and just look at CAC40 or euro stoxx 50.. good performance even if just a swing trade for us citizen.. and European banks are good value, above all BNP… If you are curious u can look at 100% marches… close for summer but good job for analyzing market at the open and at the close of the CAC with Laurent Albie and every day.. You must know C. Covaccio .. big fan and its last video on secular bull trend untill 2035 because of demographics is brilliant.. NB: I must find a tool to translate u in French because u speak quickly 😂 See u from Nice on the French Riviera
Price momentum, prospect theory, and efficient market theory. Wow! Brilliant insight! I had to watch this several times and then he breaks down Tesla stock valuation in another video stating that Tesla price is mostly based upon AI FSD not just low margin auto manufacturing. Well done!
I am excited I found your channel! I learned a lot from you on the Compound episode. Please remember some (or most?) of UA-cam audiences will be new investors so explain things as simple as possible. I love the Compound but it seems like its for industry insiders. Thanks
Great to see you on youtube! I first heard about you on The Compound and Friends and thought you were one of their most insightful guests! Looking forward to seeing more of your commentary!
Glad to see you guys on UA-cam. Nick, we’ve talked about P/E ratios a couple of times. Your take on them would be a good video. Also, how the S&P has become more volatile (1%day) over the decades and what this means. Another good topic. For those not subscribed to the daily read, highly worth it. Master class each day.
Hi Nick, can you clarify two things? : 1. Never sell (buy) a new high(low). Are we talking a new ATH in absolute terms of total price history? 2. By logic of course, this rule could also mean "Buy a new ATH". But maybe your rule applies only if you already hold a position that's in profit, and instead of selling out of fear of losing those gains after an ATH, one should consider possibly adding to the position. Appreciate it if you have a moment! Thanks! Cheers
I think a new high or new low is simply not enough information but traders trying to catch a top or a bottom tend to think “it can’t go any further”. The truth is you have to sit and wait for the market to give you more information in either direction.
I have been a subscriber for a number of years now and I think this channel is a great idea. I appreciate this type of content where you provide your personal perspective based on experience and I think it complements the newsletter. Thank you!
Good stuff! Suggest adding some charts/graphics just to help reinforce the points being made. Would like to hear how you make use of moving averages when making tactical portfolio adjustments and assessing potential inflection points.
The coin toss game in interesting. If I only get to play once, for sure I would take the $ and walk away, If I could play 100 times than probability comes into play and it becomes a no brainer.
If you're totally broke take the $100, otherwise play. You could gain $300 or $0, so $150 gain on average, for no downside risk seems best option to me.
Glad to see you on UA-cam after seeing you on Josh Brown’s podcast. It is very hard for me to wrap my head around “you need to wait for a pullback before you sell a stock.” Some of the best money I’ve made has been stockpiling more AAPL whenever it makes a new low (and holding basically forever). Every time I haven’t sold that name at the highs (due to not wanting to pay taxes) I have had enormous regret as it goes through seemingly annual 30% drawdowns. Is it possible the rule you speak of only applies to day traders and not longer term investors? I get buying a short term breakout as a trade, but a new high? Where can I learn more about this?
For years, you could tell US companies were better allocators of capital because earnings that came from US FDI were higher than FDI from other countries. That was one factor that kept the US current account from getting too imbalanced.
#3 is something that makes total sense to me. Not that #1 and #2 don't, but you just have to realize that there really can be and in fact is a difference between the US and rest of world. Now, will that persist? Yes, in the short term, but long term, be awake, I guess.
When you talk about US stocks returns vs rest of world, you credit the US businesses as being better with more opportunities. But shouldn't you also acknowledge the US consumer who buys like there is no tomorrow? The ppl of europe and japan don't consume in the same way.

For a buy and hold investor, it is important to buy quality companies. Do you have any thoughts on identifying quality companies?
This was great Nick! Hope you keep these going
