Hey Chris - Thanks for the video. I love the travel canister. I’ve had mine for probably 10 years, and it’s still going strong. I mainly use it for camping and road trips where bulk & weight aren’t a concern. But when I’m flying with just a backpack or carryon, I’ll go with a Sea to Summit small sized toiletry bag to cut down on weight. It’s interesting to see how the design has changed slightly in the current version vs my old one. Mine doesn’t have the hanging hook or the mirror.
Hey Rob! Wow, 10 years! Not bad : ) You got to love TNF! I'm excited to hear it's held up well for you. You're the second one to mention Sea to Summit so I'm definitely checking out their small toiletry bag. I'm always interested to see/hear how bags change overtime. Curious in the thought process behind the changes. Seems like sometimes for the better, but also sometimes for the worse.
@@ChrisU In the below video, you can see two of them at 1:49 to the left....a pink one and a yellow one. Don't know if they're legit or counterfeit 😊 I'm not affiliated with this channel at all. Just showing the mini duffel I've seen at numerous gear stores in Kathmandu. ua-cam.com/video/x9nXVq16AwI/v-deo.html
Hello! I bought the small eBags toiletry that you show in the video around December last year, and wanted to buy another one for my husband but I think is discontinued, which is a shame, it's a very nice toiletry bag. I recently bought the Sea to Summit toiletry in small because is so light weight but haven't had a chance to use it. TNF bag that you show looks so nice quality, but in my opinion is too heavy for backpacking, I still want to check it out at my local REI, it looks good for road trips, when weight is not an issue. Thanks for this video!
Hey G Salazar! Oh no, that was my worry when I didn't see the eBags portage listed! I'm a fan of Sea to Summit so I may have to take a look at what they have : ) You make a great point about the weight of the TNF. The material used does add the additional weight and I should have mentioned that as a possible con of the bag. I know for some, every ounce matters. Thanks!
Hiya Chris. My husband and I got one of these each. He loves his but I really don't like it. Maybe it's a woman thing. Hubby has ended up with mine as well 😊
Hey Silverstone Serenity! This is the "small" version. Here is the link from REI, www.rei.com/product/819498/the-north-face-base-camp-travel-canister. I believe this is the only size REI sales, but it looks like TNF has the larger size on their website. Take care!
I was looking this bag online not long ago. I was actually wondering if I could use it as a miniature packing bag for one set of emergency clothes. Looks like it'll be a little too small. Glad I watched your video. Thank you!
Hi trixtermcgee! Yeah, I would agree. Probably too small for a set of clothes. I didn't think of it before but might make a nice first aid kit. Take care!

That canister reminds me of the miniature size North Face duffles they sell in Nepal. They're so cute 😍 I like that color too.
That's awesome! Would love to see the miniature TNF duffels!

Hey christine! Lol, you may be right!
Is this the large or small version?

I want one but they are kinda of over priced . Can you do a load out
Hey fernando! The price is definitely one of the issues I see. Not sure how often these go on sale or are discounted. What do you mean by a load out?
A load out , like what would you take
fernando, no problem! That makes sense : )
How long is it?
Hey Darth Yoda Battlefront 2! The canister measures approximately 9 inches long. Take care!
Is this bag size small or large?
Hi Niamh! I believe REI only carries one size now. www.rei.com/product/819498/the-north-face-base-camp-travel-canister. Take care!
