The only time I saw someone who takes his head out of his ass and actually shows slowly and clearly what tool to use to do what, instead of talking gibberish with out continiuity with their words and very few so called artists even bother to show how to paint.... Thank you for a decent tutorial man

Hands down, the best tutorial I've found for Sculptris! I've been wanting to get in to 3D sculpting and this showed me exactly the tools and how to use them! Thanks man!
Brilliant video! Usually find it tricky to watch somebody sculpting & get quite restless /bored however i found myself absorbed for 30 minutes before even considering looking away. Be great to see some more speed sculpts of yours, you make it look so effortless and easy!
Thank you for your tutorial. You explained everything and demonstrated use of all the tools in a relaxed and very informative way. I discovered Sculptis only a day ago and are looking forwards to experimenting with the knowledge that you have taken the time to convey in a wonderful way. Thank you.
First ,thank you for your efforts to make this gr8 tutorial. Second, your tutorial showes clearly that a talent not a sophisticated software is needed really to make a good 3d sculpt.
Sir, thank you very much for a nice calm introduction video, I had Sculptris install for well over a year without using it , but now that I see how calming and enjoyable it can be, it will use it to wind down in the evenings.
I appreciate your time on this. I am a zbrush artist but sometimes you just want to play around and if it turns out well, I can transfer it to Zbrush for more detailed work.
Best most concise tutorial I seen for Sculptris. I've been playing with it for a few days and about all I can make are blobs with tentacles, I needed this. I think they should incorporate a better GUI interface like paint even AutoCAD have pull down menu's for saving files or changing certain properties but I guess if they did that it wouldn't be free anymore. Why though is Zbrush so financially unreachable to many people that could make a difference in the artistic community. Thanks for sharing and happy holidays.
This was absolutely the best sculptress video I have seen.it cut to the chase and got me from basics to painting in less than 45 minutes. I will definitely use this with my students. However, one problem I could not decipher is that when you were painting, your brush was so precise. Except for the whites of the eyes, I just got blobs and I felt like a preschooler with a coloring book. My pupil was square instead of round and when painting the eye it was blotchy at best. Did I miss something about settings?
Great video, only issue is you are speaking so low, I can barely hear you, I have my speakers all the way up, which usually blow out some ear drums, yet I'm having to strain to hear you
Thanks, just what I needed to get going, the only problem I have is that i cant rotate the object just in the horizontal so if I make a head, the face looks directly at me but if I rotate the object it changes the angle so the face on a sideways view is looking up. nevertheless its an amazing piece of software. After your tutorial I was able to create immediately.
Thank you Ernesto! I'm glad you enjoyed it. My focus moving forward will be on making Zbrush Videos... But if there is enough interest, I may make another, more advanced Sculptris video.
I am trying to learn mesh and sculpt work as used in virtual worlds such as SecondLife, InWorldz, etc. Having battled Blender for years, Sculptris is so intuitive- and your tut really explained. I am wondering if having added a sphere to the scene, does it then become one with the original? For example, were I to export this to Blender- would it come in as three separate parts- the head and each eye - or would he whole head come in together? Thank you again for this tut- hope you have made more or will- always more to learn!
harnois75, you must hold the shift and click on the both meshes (in this case, sculpt and new sphere) to select them. And then, use draw tool to smooth a connection between the meshes. Pardon me for my bad English.
Very nice tutorial. Made my own and I was totally following it! Would it be possible if I could download this tutorial for my own reference on my hard drive? I can understand if this is copyrighted and I really wish to ask first. Thank you so much for a great tutorial! May God bless you wonderfully today!
Cool program. Definitely want to try it out. Thanks for the tutorial.. maybe I can offer a suggestion.. filling the eyeball with white before you insert them into the sockets would of been better.. I'm assuming that is why you mentioned masking separate objects.
So I am loving sculptris. Is very user friendly. I have tried blender and zbrush free trial and imo I find them much harder to work with. Is zbrush supposed to be the same as scupltris as far as tools go? Blender i can’t seem to sculpt anything.
Sculptris is great! I don't understand one thing though. The default sphere n the software is made of triangles and the default plane is too. When I bring in assets from another software and bring up the detail in the brush the software automatically turns the mesh intro triangles. Why does Sculptris want to work in triangles so badly? I don't want the mesh to be in triangles, but I don't know, is it a bad thing that it is?
HI there , First and foremost, thank you so much it's amazing, Next, I have a simple question ,Is there a way to bring GRAB brush in sculptris to zbrush ? Or even something similar? Because as you know, is difficult to control something Inside zbresh with move brush. thank you
Is the ipad pro compatible as a drawing tablet with sculptris in windows 7? Using a mouse/touchpad is a little bit more challenging than I thought. Can the ipad pro be used like a wacom intuos screenless drawing tablet and work with sculptris?
but your model seems to have a shiny skin, mines are different, its all about the material choosed to make the sculpture?beacuse I always use the default one....
Is there a way to move the model once in paint mode (Like Global grab)? I'm in paint mode and I'm stuck in the one place, which makes it very hard to paint full size models -_-
Hi, i loved your video. I havent tried Sculptris yet but i found that you can pick a color like this->> Hold and click "C" (button C)..let me know if this helped
Hello, I have sculptris, but I haven't played with it too much. I'm wondering whether I should mess around more with it or just dive in to zBrush. Some of my other friends seem to be steering me away from zBrush because I haven't really mastered Sculptris yet. What do you think? I know zBrush is much more powerful and has a steep learning curve, at least that's what I've observed others posting.
Every time I'm trying to edit one object (a shirt for example), it keeps switching to the other object (the body). Masking doesn't help in these instances either. Say I'm trying to move a character's shirt into position and the part I need to move happens to be inside the character's body. Now I can't move that part of the shirt without it auto switching to the body when I click. I don't like that I can't go back and fourth with symemtry nor paint either. What if I missed a detail? Or what if I need to add symemtry on a new object AFTER finishing my current one? A very simple layer system could solve all of these issues. :( Thanks for the video tutorial and great job on the character.
hey. this might be a bit late. but you can hide objects. (if they are different ones) hold H and left click on what you want to hide. to bring everything hidden back press ctrl and h.

Hello Tin, I am teaching my 9 year old son with your tutorials, your method is really easy to learn. Thanks and regards. Francisco Garcia Venezuela
Colour picker: C (hold and click); Color selector: S. Great tutorial btw, first time I use this software and I just made my first cat sculpture :D
YOur tutorial and your voice are so smooth and relaxing. You're like Bob Ross! Lol! "The Joy of Sculpting"
First ,thank you for your efforts to make this gr8 tutorial.

Thank you for this video, I appreciate all your work, and at the next video, see you
Thanks for this now things or much clearer this has been the best tutorial I have seen in about 25 years
Youd think that since youve been doing sculptris for 25 years you would have learned how to make a face yourself
Thanks for creating this tut, it really was great to find this.
Best tutorial I've found! Thanks
Very well explained thank you!
Definitely, i enjoyed your tutorial. Thanks a lot for sharing and lovin.

Thanks alot Sir! The best Tutorial ever and now i could start into it!
C is the eye dropper key in painting. If you look in the Sculptris installation directory there is a PDF user guide.
Aaah, thank you. I looked through the docs but didn't see it. I'll check again.
Perfect tutorial and thank goodness you don't shout like others.
"He would catch rain!!!" OMG.....lol. Great video thanks.
Great video, only issue is you are speaking so low, I can barely hear you, I have my speakers all the way up, which usually blow out some ear drums, yet I'm having to strain to hear you
Very thorough. Can't wait to try it.
"If he didn't have that big of a nose he'd catch rain" XD
Interesting and helpful tips! Thanks!

Thanks, I enjoyed your video. I hope you can do some more sculpting tutorials using sculptris.
Thank you Ernesto! I'm glad you enjoyed it. My focus moving forward will be on making Zbrush Videos... But if there is enough interest, I may make another, more advanced Sculptris video.

Thanks so much! This is the best 101 !!!
How do you meld the new spheres into the existing sculpt, so that you can smooth a connection between them?
harnois75, you must hold the shift and click on the both meshes (in this case, sculpt and new sphere) to select them. And then, use draw tool to smooth a connection between the meshes.
Pardon me for my bad English.
Thank you for this video, you explained the program well! :^)
Great video! More more more!

When I use the crease tool, I get these very strong white lines that show up in my model when I go into rendering. Do you know why that happens?

Can I get this for my iPad Pro 11 ?
how do I switch back from the head to the eyes (vise versa)
Ctrl+ D deselects all meshes. Then left click to select a single object.
Ctrl+ A selects all meshes.

hey. this might be a bit late. but you can hide objects. (if they are different ones) hold H and left click on what you want to hide. to bring everything hidden back press ctrl and h.
CGVega
Not too late. Thanks for the info. I'll have to try it.
Is there away to smooth separate spheres together or to delete spheres once you place them? (Besides undo)
how do you delete a single action? like you did at 2:33??
super
its great
Can I add new skin without Zbrush?
nice
Can you make a zbrush tutorial like this one? Ot would be really helpful!
