Mathew basically admitted on VladTV that he was “advised” to kick LeToya and LaTavia out of the group. Kelly and Beyoncé were clueless. You can tell in this clip that Beyoncé had no clue that her dad was pulling strings behind the scenes. Mathew wanted guardianship of LeToya and LaTavia, but their moms weren’t having it. Clearly LeToya and LaTavia’s decision to fire Mathew as their manager wasn’t in vain, because each member thereafter fired him. Including Beyoncé.
You're right. Sure Matthew may have done some shady things but it doesn't compare to what Berry Gordy (founder of Motown) has done. Regardless of mistakes made, both men had incredible visions and a determination and dedication to match and make those dreams reality. Despite firing Matthew Knowles, I know that (in chronological order) LeToya, Kelly, Michelle and Beyonce are eternally grateful for the work ethic he instilled in them and for the sacrifices he made for their careers.
