- Mr. Orya Maqbool Jan -- Columnist, Senior Journalist, expressed his desire for a country where people owned their culture, identity and language. He added that only technological and economic development could not ensure success. He said Pakistan should follow the example of Iran, a country that he said, had stuck to its language and culture and was all the better because of it.
TEDxHUP International Conference was Organized by Hajvery University (HU) under license from TED, USA. It was held on Saturday, February 4 at the HU. The Conference brought together the Movers & Shakers of Pakistan as Keynote Speakers.The Theme of the Conference was - I Dream of a Pakistan.. I am a Ph.D. Scholar in Beijing, China.I love my country and language. The Chinese language is losing very fast against English. The big cities lost Chinese culture at a very high rate and western culture is dominating. The English language is getting more and more popular in Chinese uinversites. We need to think this matter carefully . Same is happening in Garmeny now more and more German universites offering more and more English base degrees

@@sidrakanwal2126 no Urdu is not developed like that instead when Arab and Persian people they learnt Hindi. They didn't learn classic but learnt basic. So when they spoke they used to add some of their own language word. So it became the language of Muslims of India. Because it was spoken by foreigner Muslims. In India it has a status of local language

Are you being sarcastic !. I did not find this guy's talk convincing at all. First he started his talk about 'owning up your language as your identity'. Then he said communism and capitalism are failure models, and idea of a theocratic nation is ideal. He considers secularism as inferior. How stupid that can be? Dont people see how countries like sweden, norway, germany are well off with democracy.!! How does TEDx give a platform to such shallow talks....
