In Pre-Sequel Clap would easily be the strongest non-siren lorewise. He was able to emulate most of the Vault Hunter’s abilities and even had some Siren powers, and had the H-Source, digital omnipotence, stashed away deep in his code.
in addition to this, claptrap only 'died' as a result of him being tricked by his 'friends' which would be understandable as how little he has, but even after being shot in the robotic chest and killed off using his very on H source, he managed to survive, at the cost of his powers. So in reality, Jack had to shoot claptrap and use an omnipotent source of absolute control in a failed attempt for claptraps life, but ends up only taking away his powers.

Yeah, the first four VHs should be below the BL2/TPS ones. It is explicitly stated they failed to defeat jack, which implies the BL2 characters are stronger. Wilhelm defeats the first 4 VHs, but loses to the second set after a good fight. Nisha as well. TL;DR in terms of power 2>TPS>1 characters

Idk much about lore but Amara's tattoos eventually cover nearly her entire body which represent power, she's been training a long time with her siren powers, and she's never used Eridium which we've seen gave Lilith like a perma boost/change to her power she later mentions. I think if Amara got the perma boost from Eridium and evolved her power like Lillith did later, she'd far surpass Lillith. Lil just seems like she plateud tbh, and lost to Tyreen without much of a fight

It depends on the distance, if it's mid-range, Salvador wins because Gunzerking is best at mid-range and puts out more firepower, close range Krieg wins because his Badass Psycho mutation could potentially tie him for strongest physical VH with Brick.

This would mainly apply to Sirens The next tier should be “more than human but not reality breaking powers by definition” Brick as an example is purely human but he can punch through robots and throw cars Then we could finally start separating by actual accomplishments and training. Since they are just “good soldiers with a turret” Tales would be the bottom tier however. I also feel like hes above flak. In BL3 agaisnt katagawa using the same tech zero was handing Katagawa his ass. This shows that zero is more than just his abilities but also has the skill to overcome any obstacles. Also I feel that Sal is on par if not above Lilith at least in borderlands 2. Reasoning being that lilth is getting her butt handed to her by the bloodshots, a single bandit group, whereas echoes in Thousand Cuts show Sal takes out bandit groups solo. Loved this vid, release the beast is also 100% cannon because krieg was heavily mutated due to Hyperion experiments. Also his gauntlet injects him with the stuff used to heal and mutate him making krieg the only VH who can cannonicaly heal like wolverine. Overall great vid boys 👏
@V3RAC1TY zane was an assassin, but those skins were for alternate timelines. If the vaulthunters chose different paths in life, zane could have been assassin one, but in the main timeline, he chose to retire to become a vaulthunter.

zane is now the strongest vault hunter in 3 gameplay wise no cap the only thing moze has is she requires far less gear literally all you need is a flipper or unkempt harold, a re-volter, and her blast master class mod you don’t really need a god roll on this shit either. a cryo chain zane build will mob thru pretty much everything in the game in a blink of an eye it’s so nasty.
oh and zane’s ammo regen is ass especially compared to moze who basically doesn’t run out of ammo i killed summo idk how many times to get that bullet buffet re-volter just for zane
we need to take into account the fact that mordecai beated zero in a sniper challenge, it´s been said in BL3 so he lore wise is kinda strong than possibly zero at the very least stronger in longer ranges than him, adding to this he actually won the moxxi´s underdome agaisnt lilith so he could outclass all of his peers from BL1; and wilhelm is a INMOVABLE S as he almost kill all of the BL1 characters alone and he was poisioned by jack in order to be killed because if he was complete he sure as shit would have defeated the BL2 VH with ease.
Two people on this list got done dirty. Krieg and Vaughn. Krieg, because while he did take down an entire Hyperion installation, he did it while insane, hearing voices, and being completely unable to communicate with anyone. That's A tier stuff. But then you have the Release the Beast. Imagine a psycho turning into *that* right in front of you, just before he slices you into several bits, when you thought he was about to die. Or when he's about to die, bleeding out on the ground, but instead gets up and starts throwing dynamite at everyone, and even dropping one when he falls, but survives it well enough (sometimes) to get up and continue fighting. That's S tier actions. Vaughn, because after the giant H fell out of the sky, Vaughn set himself up as a 'bandit war chief' (his words). He had NOTHING going for him, and set himself up like *that*. While you do have to rescue him in 3, it's because his entire "tribe" betrayed him, and the only one to actually survive, didn't. There's a sidequest in 3 where you have to liberate her brain, and psyche, after which, she apologizes for her actions. He also withstood an all out assault from a vine plant 'virus' that even took out Mordecai. (Fight for Sanctuary). That puts Vaughn sqarely in B tier.
Solid list, the second tier list is interesting. Gotta say I’ve never played a character that I loved as much as Athena, especially when ya can level up her shield abilities and melee stuff, felt like a demon of destruction!
Top 3 strongest non siren characters in my opinion is Wilhelm, Zer0, and Zane. In the lore, Zane is literally the most dangerous operative/hitman in the galaxy. Theres a reason why so many corporations want him dead and why his retirement plan is literally vault hunting. Its kind of similar to Zer0 with how he does vault hunting because he literally found everything else too easy. Matter of fact, Zer0 and Zane are 100% on the same skill level, they just do it differently. Zer0 has much more agility and speed than Zane cause, well, hes a ninja and def not a human, plus he can go invisible which is a major plus. Zane, however, has way more versality with his tech than zer0. Like come on you can't beat a literal shoulder cannon, shield that even protects him against siren powers, teleportation (Zer0 has that too tho), a digi clone which is basically 2 zanes, and digi-structed drones that can shoot missiles and grenades. Plus, while its not canon, it's basically confirmed that if Zane stayed in the assassination buisness, he would've have gotten a Zer0 suit (which actually raises more questions about zer0). Zane and Zer0 are def in the same skill level, BUT i think Wilhelm was the strongest non siren character. I mean dude was so borgged out that he could take on the entire sanctuary with the 4 original vault hunters INCLUDING lilith. The only reason why the new vault hunters killed him was because Jack poisoned him before the fight. Fl4k and Moze are definitely up there with Zane and Zer0 but just a wee bit behind.

S and A tiers are the characters that are exceptionally strong and special, the 3 sirens and the 2 most overpowered non siren beings in the series, b tier and below are not weak by any means though B Tier: Characters able to beat practically anyone on a 1on1 scenario, either extremely phisically strong or masterfully skilled. -Zane: a very skilled assasin with access to high tech gadgets, even if he's getting old by the time of bl3, he is lore wise the most skilled of the bunch -Athena: trained assasin that managed to decimate what was left of the Atlas corporation by herself -Roland: commander of the crimson raiders, he is one of the most skilled soldiers of the franchise -Brick: one of the strongest humans of the franchise, few things could face him 1 on 1. -Salvador: able to single handedly defend an entire town from a corporate attack, possibly the best gunslinger there is and a beast of a human being as well. -Mordecai: one of the best snipers in the galaxy, second only to zero. -Typhon de Leon: a skilled adventurer, he managed to beat the vault monster on nekrotafeyo -Krieg: exceptionally strong psycho C tier: Above average characters that can beat a large ammount of threats, but not neccesarily super special. -Moze: a regular soldier, her iron bear gives her the edge, but take into account that this was a standard issue unit in the vladof army, it's quite equivalent to a tank, powerful, but by no means the best piece of military equipment there is -Axton: very skilled soldier, but dont have enough feats that would make him stand out significantly -fl4k: a murder robot, with cloaking texhnology and beast pets -Aurelia: quite a skilled fighter with access to special Cryo technology -Nisha: very skilled gunslinger -Gaige: she herself is not necesarily above average compared to any soldier, but deathtrap is a formidable robot to face. D tier: regular soldier kind of strength -Timothy: a regular guy that manages to be a threat thanks to their tech -FragTrap: is a regular robot with guns, i wont delve into the h source thing -Vaughn: became a bandit on pandora, and by Bl3 he is the leader of a bandit clan, with feats like being able to kill someone with his abs E tier: below average in strength, regular human. -Fiona: has some kind of training, but not necesarily strong in any regard -Rhys: his bionic augmentations can give him a little bit of strenght and processing ability F Tier: Regular human with no remarkable characteristics -Sasha -New tales from the borderlands characters
I still feel like Wilhelm is too low in the ranks, he destroyed the first vault hunters as well as many other large feats. He was Jack's ace and everyone feared him. That should've been enough to put him in S tier, bro was so unstoppable that Jack had to poison him before the fight in borderlands 2 because he was so strong. And even then, he still puts up a reasonably hard fight. Furthermore, his death surprises everyone showing how strong he would've been if weren't for the poison. Im pretty sure in his prime Wilhelm would stomp everyone on the list (individually, but in some cases in a group) the only vault hunter I'm a bit unsure of is Athena, but that's only because of Wilhelm being impressed by Athena after finding out she killed Knoxx. But that's it really. Also this is just my opinion you don't have to agree, I'm just a fan of Wilhelm lol

And then maybe Salvador people would be mad if you don't put him up there even though BL3 VHs are just a different breed with the lack of dependence to God rolls for the most part. Gameplay-wise Athena has the highest DPS cap probably in a whole Borderlands franchise with maelstrom, and a shield that literally tanks all incoming frontal damage, while running the most versatile element combo possible. Lore-wise Athena solos two corporations (old Atlas and Dahl Lost Legion), solos the Pre-Sequel events (hence kills Sentinel, genocides whole Eleseer and opens up the vault alone) and practically solos Brick and Mordecai (she loses only because she never intended to kill them, only to stall - she would just slice Brick upon his first pain train; she also hands her shield to Fiona, practically giving her life away in the face of Vallory's launcher). So I have no idea why did you put her so low. She could probably take down all 3 S-tier sirens from this list completely on her own.
Amara is in lore the weakest siren of the main 3. It is said Maya has "had" the most potential of the three but got snuffed and we were able to see the progression of Lilith powers. Amara's are quite limited in all actuality.
Athena is the best most trained assassin around trained by atlas since a very young age. Maybe zero dethroned her but she is still very very very strong in lore.
And in the world Lilith sux escpecially in BL3 along with Maya, so i'd lower them down to C to D, but if we're just speaking based on their lore/capabilities? all sirens are in S. Even in BL1, Lilith can only phasewalk and deal elemental upon entering and exiting, which at this point every siren is able to do minus the phasewalk which is in itself a useless ability in game but lore wise is powerful. Lilith is just like a better Ava, causes problems and deaths, did nothing but being beat down one sided. Maya can brainwash ppl and phaselock a planet Amara's just a jack of all trades for siren powers Lilith can phasewalk, teleport, fly and being a firehawk etc but eh, BL3 writing really nerfed her down to a lvl 1 mob. Moze is just a war veteran with a battlemech, i'd say all the assassins would find it easy to off her. I suppose it all boils down to who get's the first strike.

I feel like lore-wise, Liltih should be the number 1 Siren because she legit sealed the moon-vault-key thing. Seems like that's a good qualifier for lore based powers.
Loved this vid, release the beast is also 100% cannon because krieg was heavily mutated due to Hyperion experiments. Also his gauntlet injects him with the stuff used to heal and mutate him making krieg the only VH who can cannonicaly heal like wolverine. Overall great vid boys 👏

@V3RAC1TY zane was an assassin, but those skins were for alternate timelines. If the vaulthunters chose different paths in life, zane could have been assassin one, but in the main timeline, he chose to retire to become a vaulthunter.

zane is now the strongest vault hunter in 3 gameplay wise no cap the only thing moze has is she requires far less gear literally all you need is a flipper or unkempt harold, a re-volter, and her blast master class mod you don’t really need a god roll on this shit either. a cryo chain zane build will mob thru pretty much everything in the game in a blink of an eye it’s so nasty.
oh and zane’s ammo regen is ass especially compared to moze who basically doesn’t run out of ammo i killed summo idk how many times to get that bullet buffet re-volter just for zane

we need to take into account the fact that mordecai beated zero in a sniper challenge, it´s been said in BL3 so he lore wise is kinda strong than possibly zero at the very least stronger in longer ranges than him, adding to this he actually won the moxxi´s underdome agaisnt lilith so he could outclass all of his peers from BL1; and wilhelm is a INMOVABLE S as he almost kill all of the BL1 characters alone and he was poisioned by jack in order to be killed because if he was complete he sure as shit would have defeated the BL2 VH with ease.
Two people on this list got done dirty. Krieg and Vaughn.
Krieg, because while he did take down an entire Hyperion installation, he did it while insane, hearing voices, and being completely unable to communicate with anyone. That's A tier stuff. But then you have the Release the Beast. Imagine a psycho turning into *that* right in front of you, just before he slices you into several bits, when you thought he was about to die. Or when he's about to die, bleeding out on the ground, but instead gets up and starts throwing dynamite at everyone, and even dropping one when he falls, but survives it well enough (sometimes) to get up and continue fighting. That's S tier actions.
Vaughn, because after the giant H fell out of the sky, Vaughn set himself up as a 'bandit war chief' (his words). He had NOTHING going for him, and set himself up like *that*. While you do have to rescue him in 3, it's because his entire "tribe" betrayed him, and the only one to actually survive, didn't. There's a sidequest in 3 where you have to liberate her brain, and psyche, after which, she apologizes for her actions. He also withstood an all out assault from a vine plant 'virus' that even took out Mordecai. (Fight for Sanctuary). That puts Vaughn sqarely in B tier.
Solid list, the second tier list is interesting. Gotta say I’ve never played a character that I loved as much as Athena, especially when ya can level up her shield abilities and melee stuff, felt like a demon of destruction!
Top 3 strongest non siren characters in my opinion is Wilhelm, Zer0, and Zane. In the lore, Zane is literally the most dangerous operative/hitman in the galaxy. Theres a reason why so many corporations want him dead and why his retirement plan is literally vault hunting. Its kind of similar to Zer0 with how he does vault hunting because he literally found everything else too easy. Matter of fact, Zer0 and Zane are 100% on the same skill level, they just do it differently. Zer0 has much more agility and speed than Zane cause, well, hes a ninja and def not a human, plus he can go invisible which is a major plus. Zane, however, has way more versality with his tech than zer0. Like come on you can't beat a literal shoulder cannon, shield that even protects him against siren powers, teleportation (Zer0 has that too tho), a digi clone which is basically 2 zanes, and digi-structed drones that can shoot missiles and grenades. Plus, while its not canon, it's basically confirmed that if Zane stayed in the assassination buisness, he would've have gotten a Zer0 suit (which actually raises more questions about zer0). Zane and Zer0 are def in the same skill level, BUT i think Wilhelm was the strongest non siren character. I mean dude was so borgged out that he could take on the entire sanctuary with the 4 original vault hunters INCLUDING lilith. The only reason why the new vault hunters killed him was because Jack poisoned him before the fight. Fl4k and Moze are definitely up there with Zane and Zer0 but just a wee bit behind.
gampelay wise the rankings are all over the place depending on the balancing the games have, with heavy bias towards 2 and 3's characters, but we have to make a list based on lore, with feats they canonically achieve (previous to the game in case of bl3 ones)
S: Lilith(bl2 peak with eridium), maya (bl3 peak with eridium), wilhem (post pre-sequel beat all bl1 characters)

Justifications on the comments
S Tier: characters with powers that made them virtually unbeatable and could take on anything alone, including vault monsters.
-lilith: at the top, no questions, was able to teleport the whole sanctuary away with eridium
-Wilhem: beat all 4 bl1 vault hunters, and was actively feared by them in 2, surely one of the strongest if not THE strongest soldiers jack had, only beaten by 2's character because he was poisoned (some say that a lore accurate wilhem fight would be similar to hyperius the invincible)
-Maya: would be A tier but learned to use eridium giving her the potential to be as dangerous as lilith, if she hadnt been killed (take for example how troy phaselocked the entire elpis with the ammount of eridium angel was getting)
A tier: Flee on sight kind of characters, unbeatable 1on1 under any circumstance and able to take out armies alone.
-Zero: has to be the strongest non siren character (possibly non bionically augmented), being quite possibly the best assasin in the galaxy, he went for the vault because he literally ran out of things that tested his abilities
-Amara: if lilith and maya didnt use eridium, amara would be the strongest of the 3 due to her training in siren powers.
S and A tiers are the characters that are exceptionally strong and special, the 3 sirens and the 2 most overpowered non siren beings in the series, b tier and below are not weak by any means though
B Tier: Characters able to beat practically anyone on a 1on1 scenario, either extremely phisically strong or masterfully skilled.
-Zane: a very skilled assasin with access to high tech gadgets, even if he's getting old by the time of bl3, he is lore wise the most skilled of the bunch
-Athena: trained assasin that managed to decimate what was left of the Atlas corporation by herself
-Roland: commander of the crimson raiders, he is one of the most skilled soldiers of the franchise
-Brick: one of the strongest humans of the franchise, few things could face him 1 on 1.
-Salvador: able to single handedly defend an entire town from a corporate attack, possibly the best gunslinger there is and a beast of a human being as well.
-Mordecai: one of the best snipers in the galaxy, second only to zero.
-Typhon de Leon: a skilled adventurer, he managed to beat the vault monster on nekrotafeyo
-Krieg: exceptionally strong psycho
C tier: Above average characters that can beat a large ammount of threats, but not neccesarily super special.
-Moze: a regular soldier, her iron bear gives her the edge, but take into account that this was a standard issue unit in the vladof army, it's quite equivalent to a tank, powerful, but by no means the best piece of military equipment there is
-Axton: very skilled soldier, but dont have enough feats that would make him stand out significantly
-fl4k: a murder robot, with cloaking texhnology and beast pets
-Aurelia: quite a skilled fighter with access to special Cryo technology
-Nisha: very skilled gunslinger
-Gaige: she herself is not necesarily above average compared to any soldier, but deathtrap is a formidable robot to face.
D tier: regular soldier kind of strength
-Timothy: a regular guy that manages to be a threat thanks to their tech
-FragTrap: is a regular robot with guns, i wont delve into the h source thing
-Vaughn: became a bandit on pandora, and by Bl3 he is the leader of a bandit clan, with feats like being able to kill someone with his abs
E tier: below average in strength, regular human.
-Fiona: has some kind of training, but not necesarily strong in any regard
-Rhys: his bionic augmentations can give him a little bit of strenght and processing ability
F Tier: Regular human with no remarkable characteristics
-Sasha
-New tales from the borderlands characters
I still feel like Wilhelm is too low in the ranks, he destroyed the first vault hunters as well as many other large feats. He was Jack's ace and everyone feared him. That should've been enough to put him in S tier, bro was so unstoppable that Jack had to poison him before the fight in borderlands 2 because he was so strong. And even then, he still puts up a reasonably hard fight. Furthermore, his death surprises everyone showing how strong he would've been if weren't for the poison. Im pretty sure in his prime Wilhelm would stomp everyone on the list (individually, but in some cases in a group) the only vault hunter I'm a bit unsure of is Athena, but that's only because of Wilhelm being impressed by Athena after finding out she killed Knoxx. But that's it really. Also this is just my opinion you don't have to agree, I'm just a fan of Wilhelm lol

Wilhelm is definitely the strongest vault hunter because in lore all the vault hunters in each game are going through the events together so in 2 in took all the vault hunters together to beat him and the only reason they were able to win was because Jack poisoned him

Athena was the top operative in the Crimson Lance. She had a teleporter and also went trough a lot of traumatic shit. I would say she is easy A tier.
Gamplay wise, Zane and Moze are on a league of their own. Hustler Zane and Deathless Moze laugh at your survivability. I'd edge it more towards Moze because she can go boom or brrrrrr. While Zane just booms from another planet. And then maybe Salvador people would be mad if you don't put him up there even though BL3 VHs are just a different breed with the lack of dependence to God rolls for the most part.
But in terms of fun? Amara and Fl4k easily. Then Zane then moze then an empty tier then anyone else after the empty tier

Ok but like, Fl4k relies a fair bit on their pets and there isn't a single one of them that Krieg wouldn't literally eat in a fight. I wager Krieg broaches into A tier by beating Fl4k.
Gameplay-wise Athena has the highest DPS cap probably in a whole Borderlands franchise with maelstrom, and a shield that literally tanks all incoming frontal damage, while running the most versatile element combo possible.
Lore-wise Athena solos two corporations (old Atlas and Dahl Lost Legion), solos the Pre-Sequel events (hence kills Sentinel, genocides whole Eleseer and opens up the vault alone) and practically solos Brick and Mordecai (she loses only because she never intended to kill them, only to stall - she would just slice Brick upon his first pain train; she also hands her shield to Fiona, practically giving her life away in the face of Vallory's launcher).
So I have no idea why did you put her so low. She could probably take down all 3 S-tier sirens from this list completely on her own.
Amara is in lore the weakest siren of the main 3. It is said Maya has "had" the most potential of the three but got snuffed and we were able to see the progression of Lilith powers. Amara's are quite limited in all actuality.
Athena is the best most trained assassin around trained by atlas since a very young age. Maybe zero dethroned her but she is still very very very strong in lore.

And in the world Lilith sux escpecially in BL3 along with Maya, so i'd lower them down to C to D, but if we're just speaking based on their lore/capabilities? all sirens are in S. Even in BL1, Lilith can only phasewalk and deal elemental upon entering and exiting, which at this point every siren is able to do minus the phasewalk which is in itself a useless ability in game but lore wise is powerful. Lilith is just like a better Ava, causes problems and deaths, did nothing but being beat down one sided.
